The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

He does have a point in this case, however. This exchange does seem shady. Whether it is or not can be up for debate.

But, at the end of the day, no one has any proof of any wrongdoing, and this exchange certainly does not represent Dash by any means. We just need to keep doing what we're doing, building a great product, and the Dash price will rise organically.

We should keep an eye on this exchange, though.

If Hearn is correct that merely 2 Chinese miners own more then 50% of the blockchain, we haven't seen the bottom of Bitcoin.

Nationality is irrelevant. Mining centralization is a problem in general (until a solution is found) and it doesn't affect BTC only, but rather tens of cryptocurrencies including DASH

At least with Evolution it won't matter anymore.  Masternode Quorums will vet what goes in the blockchain, and miner's blocks will be rejected if they do anything else.

Our team has seriously worked on every issue.  Of course, we are indeed in the same boat until Evo gets implemented, but that won't be long now Smiley

Wonder if the volume on Livecoin is real? Where has this exchange come from to erupt like this?

Livecoin is totally legit.  Poloniex is a scam.

Everyone should move their BTC and DASH to Livecoin and trade there!

Why don't you be a nice guy and congratulate the DASH team and community on a job well done and a very nice price rise?

Because I remember when Willy, Karpeles's pet bot, used fake notional fiat to push the price of BTC to $1200.

http://www.coindesk.com/bot-named-willy-did-mt-goxs-automated-trading-pump-bitcoin-price/

And Livecoin isn't half as legitimate as Gox.  At least we knew who ran Gox, and he was one of us (MagicalTux).

The real question is why you aren't being appropriately skeptical and cautious about some random exchange suddenly appearing and pumping an instamined soda machine coin with "bad crypto" up 45% in four days.

Hence my obligtory tounge-in-cheek "seems legit" posts.  Even Bigrcanada got the joke, FFS.  What is your malfunction?  Conflict of interest?

As much as I don't like or respect your tactics against DASH... This is one thing I am concerned about.

In visiting and setting up the account on Livecoin... I thought maybe there is something unique that makes it easier or something.  But I didn't find that... It's harder to navigate then Polo or Cryptsy or couple of others.

And certainly I believe the DASHs technology and the team We have and current project is above any other crypto warranting a much higher price then we currently have,  dig intended, I can not but help feel worried about this huge jump for a unknown exchange. Especially in light of the last week's events.

When did Livecoin come online and who are they?

Which brings me to the question that I haven't gotten an answer too...who is livecoin.
who behind and where are the following exchanges:

Poloniex
Bittrex
Livecoin
c-cex
Bter

etc etc.

Is there a link listing the where abouts and whos behind these sites that is handling millions of dollars of our money?!?

Here is some info about Livecoin posted by darkred over at Dashtalk:

I think the fact that Cryptsy finished selling their coins 450K+ DASH sold over the last year took a lot of artificial sell pressure out of the market

Is it known that the coins were sold ? (As opposed to yet to be sold).

I think you were trying this trolling angle yesterday as well.

Of course they weren't mixed on Dash's blockchain, because Masternode Blinding is still a 'work in progress' or whatever.

Mixing 450k Dash-coins with Darksend would take at minimum 2^7688 years.  The last quark would decay into strings and branes eons before they finished.

The only alternative is using cross-chain mixing via different exchanges, which is exactly what your post illustrates.

Any proof the coins went to different owners, or are you just assuming the hackers didn't sell to themselves as a cross-chain mixing/plausible deniability scheme?

Has Mullick "the wallet manager" been doxed ?

Is he Paul Vernon's sock or simply a useful idiot/ patsy/scapegoat ?

Yes, see -> https://www.linkedin.com/in/nicholas-mullesch-46b5a784

Quote from: LinkedIn page Mullick
Cryptsy.com is an Internet startup operated by Project Investors, Inc. focusing on the exchange of Crypto-Currency commonly known as “BitCoin” and it's derivatives. Cryptsy currently services more than 300 different types of crypto-currency.

The Cryptsy.com exchange opened on May 20th, 2013 and since then has seen rapid growth in both customer base and trade volume. Cryptsy currently has over 300k registered users with a volume of over 150k trades per day.

My responsibilities at cryptsy grew from a summer internship to Head of IT and Director of Crypto Currency over 2 years while the company grew. I maintained the network, infrastructure and operating systems for the entire production network which was up to 50 physical machines and even more virtual machines. I coordinated and implemented a point of presence in Boston, Ma as well as implemented new security standards across our entire infrastructure.

I was also responsible for maintaining the "Hot" wallets for the company. Three hundred resource intensive applications requiring maximum up time and security. These applications were storing millions of dollars worth of customers funds and needed to process up to 1.5 million requests per day from the frontend servers. This required me to design a completely new infrastructure. Starting at hardware selection, all the way to installation, configuration and deployment. The infrastructure included 12 physical machines and 300 virtual machines. In the year since it was implemented in January 2015 it has seen 100 Terabytes of external network traffic, 75 Petabytes of disk writes and has processed over 650,000 customer withdrawals of crypto currencies.

gone i would suggest.  what ever has happened, i just don't think folks are going to see their crypto out of cryptsy if the history of dead exchanges tells us anything.

Fairly sure the Dash disappeared with the BTC & LTC, though Vern has not confirmed it on the blog yet

There was a Dash tx for 456,501 around that same time, from a wallet that looked similar to the LTC wallet on the Craptsy blog... followed by enough complaints that 2 weeks after the theft (Aug 13, 2014), this confrontation about Dash (Darkcoin at the time) with Paul Vernon was posted to youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJONR_UL1rw

They are probably following my advice and looking at this tx-chain closely... it appears the person sold the Dash on every exchange possible, mostly Craptsy itself

Dash seems to be stabilizing around .01.

I would be happy to stay here for a while before the conference and our next leg up...

Yes, see -> https://www.linkedin.com/in/nicholas-mullesch-46b5a784

All this time I thought he was just a trollbox mod. haha

This high school must have one helluva IT program or everything in that quote was dictated to him.

The prices assume you never sold but accumulated dash all this time, but still looks like a nice service.  You don't have to mess with anything yourself Smiley
