Wow, somebody just took a gigantic red dump on the Dash market. They better see a doctor about that (unless they had beets for dinner). Why would anybody want to market sell that many masternodes? Don't they care about slippage? Do they know something the rest of us don't that caused them to panic? Maybe the Evolution demo isn't going to be ready for Miami. If it was open source, we could all follow its progress and make sure it isn't ossifying around any bad ideas. How people can believe in closed source software written by some Wizard of Oz hiding behind a curtain is beyond me.

So i guess the foundation owns the trademark? Does that mean we are fucked if blockstream takes over the foundation?
The Darkcoin Foundation is a problem for the future of Dash, just like the instamine. Who else is interested in a clean and fair relaunch of this project?
I propose to call it Dash Classic. It's the best way to route around the Foundation and instamine, which are holding back Dash by keeping it relegated to scamcoin status.

That makes no sense to me, can you explain?
I am just worrying about what happened to bitcoin happening to dash, but I don't know the details enough to do more than just generally worry about it. I assume if there was a hostile takeover of the foundation they could do some bullshit like fork dash and prevent anyone else from using the trademark. I don't know how the foundation is governed though. If the foundation really owns the trademark, they won't even have to fork DASH in order to prevent anyone else from using it. However, I think the shareholder concentration of the foundation is probably very high, so that will likely deter a (hostile) takeover. But you can never know for sure. Let's say they offer a huge premium, who knows what might happen. I think worrying about the coin foundation that has bylaws and who's members are all Dash stakeholders having a trade mark, is a way smaller risk than not having the trade mark at all. Do you understand the risk of someone completely unrelated to the project owning the trademark? It is a way bigger risk. Look for example at the cases of Monero or Lets Talk Bitcoin, they both have had real trademark issues with owners of other trademarks. In the case of Monero the now closed down Uruguayan Bitcoin company Moneero https://twitter.com/moneerohq actually filed some claims. Fortunately that company closed down. Lets Talk Bitcoin recently got their Youtube channel closed on trademark related issues. Do you know who owned the Bitcoin trademark, at least at the time they filed for bankruptcy MtGox did. I am lazy to check who owns it now if it was already sold. http://phys.org/news/2014-05-mtgox-bitcoin-trademarks.htmlSo saying that Dash taking control of its own destiny and owning rights to the trademark is a bigger risk is disingenuous. Dash has substantially mitigated the risk of outside sources attacking on a trademark basis.

+1 And having been through the trademark process myself I can imagine it wasn't a stress-free zone for all concerned.

Dash has substantially mitigated the risk of outside sources attacking on a trademark basis. I was merely talking about a hypothetical situation and how it could play out. I, however, certainly agree with you that it's better to have Dash stakeholders holding the trade mark (because they obviously got incentives to hold it) than someone completely unrelated. The latter would also be easier to "takeover". I was going to add something to my initial post about incentives, but had to run. Yes, I am aware of that and trademarks are generally a pain in the ass. Thus, in your case, having the trade mark is certainly beneficial. Yes, I knew Karpales held it. Also, my initial post wasn't really meant as criticism, just describing a hypothetical situation.

Lifeboats at the ready. (Including all known blockchain-based liquidity). Mr White, chairman of the OECD's review committee and former chief economist of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has just turned Zerohedge-compliant, "it's coming" echo-chamber friendly, doom-mongering harbinger of doom. Expect him to turn up on Greg Hunter's show any minute to have his ear Woodpeckered by Greg Hunter asking him 200 times in 30 minutes when exactly the "collapse" is coming.

Something is up. Someone or some group bought a whole bunch of Dash in the last several days. The thing I love about cryptocurrencies (as opposed to say, the stock market) is that there is no pretense that insiders are prevented from profiting from "inside information." I like that insiders profit. God bless them. If you don't think the insiders are honest, or competent, don't invest!
What I would like to do to amuse myself is start a completely unsubstantiated rumor that the Winklevoss twins are behind the latest run-up in Dash, that they have decided to become serious investors in Dash, and are are even planning a Dash ETF.

Hey arielbit, I have some advice for you: When you are thinking of posting more inanities, do this instead..
Step one: Get a leather glove. Step two: Slap yourself in the face with it. Repeat as often as necessary.
I think this will really help you. No need to thank me.
Now...why do I strike a nerve on you every time I mention Dashcoin DSH? No, that is Dashcoin (DSH) who's community took over maintenance of the coin, and continued to use the same name and logo, after Evan Duffield legitimately purchased them from the DSH dev. making up stories just to attack Dashcoin DSH and me (the 10,000 monero dice lost)..hmmmmm ..don't worry every time you pop up I'll mention Dashcoin DSH You forgot to slap yourself in the face. Doh! I have one serious question about Dash, but do not want to be labelled a troll One, or several, hard questions about Dash is not trolling. Sociopathic flogging of horses, is. Shot buddy. Ok then. Being a veteran GPU miner myself (four years), I find myself wondering how Dash attracts miners to the network since, I myself, would initially balk at such terms. How is it profitable for miners, and who the hell is GPU mining Dash? I would also like to disclose that I am invested in Dash. Thanks guys! volyova Date Registered: August 21, 2014, 08:17:00 PM 2016 - 4 years = 2012 ....so where have you been from 2012-2014 while mining with GPUs? Piss off you nosy bastard! this will only go in two ways 1. you are a bullshitter 2. you are a sock puppet that has grown fat (sr. member)

Anyone have experience with goUrl and its crypto payment system? We are ready to go live with our new website on January 28th...and our web team has installed the payment plug ins for Bitcoin and DASH on our shopping cart. How is the fiat/crypto pricing handled? Do we need to have a DASH price and BTC price listed or does goUrl's plug in automatically convert the CAD/USD to DASH/BTC?

Thank you for the reply, however, why are you saying that MNs' IP addresses are no longer visible? I know that for now the command dash-cli masternode list gives you the vin addresses, but https://dashninja.pl/ still shows all the IPs. Ugh, well, see? I'm wrong again, LOL. I thought the command that shows IP addresses was gone. I haven't used the list command in forever Sorry! Never mind

Hi!
Please help....
I must reinstall windows. What I need to do, to keep wallet with dashs?
Open wallet File -> Backup and save that file to a safe place and make more copies alternatively you could go to %appdata%\dash with wallet closed and make copies of wallet.dat to safe places. In my opinion, also keep them on extra flash drives at all times! I've had a flash drive get corrupt, why? I have no idea, but if that were my only copy, I'd have been SOL.
