There's still some major price manipulation going on at Cryptsy on DRK by bots Undecided
I take my words/thoughts back.

I observed the trade very closely today, and i come to realize and admit-
THERE IS someone dumping drk, pushing the price down, slowly but surely.

Selected trades-
Date                          Type   Price (BTC)    DRK Traded   Total BTC
2014-03-18 16:50:13   Sell   0.00120000   1500.00000000   1.80000000
2014-03-18 16:46:05   Sell   0.00120000   913.15919194   1.09579103
2014-03-18 16:40:57   Sell   0.00122500   989.39596359   1.21201006
2014-03-18 16:37:58   Sell   0.00122500   2000.00000000   2.45000000
2014-03-18 16:37:30   Sell   0.00122500   706.94809415   0.86601142
2014-03-18 15:59:43   Sell   0.00122500   2821.33073146   3.45613015
2014-03-18 15:16:36   Sell   0.00123544   959.87189267   1.18586413
2014-03-18 14:52:30   Sell   0.00123999   498.97214965   0.61872048
2014-03-18 14:45:32   Sell   0.00123544   400.00000000   0.49417600

Althouygh I must admit that since most of us here are realy keen on this coin and hold our coins closly, this guy is going us a favor helping distribute the coins to more people.  Smiley

But coming back to the price manipulation, even if we exaggerate to assume he has 200k coins (6% of all coins circulated), and he dumps 10k coins every day (he dumped over 6,000 coins in the past hour), then he will be out of coins in 20 days...
I estimate that's exactly when we will be set to launch from beta into open source...
as the saying goes - "bring it on..."
he could have 30% of coins...

Apparently we needed a white paper to be a legit crypto-currency, so here it is:

http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/DarkcoinWhitepaper.pdf

Let me know if you see anything that could be improved, clearer, typos, etc.

Dark paper
(March 18, 2014)

thinking about it, the paper needs a conclusion.

Not found block, you received from other node.

As the first anonymous coin, shouldn't the price be higher? It's getting frustrating seeing it so stagnant after I have continually sunk so much money into it. At first glance it looks like price manipulation, but I could be wrong. Anyone else want to chime in on this?

I think that a lot of people don't actually believe DarkSend will work. Once it's -proven- to work people will change their minds and some momentum can be gained. Going along with that DarkSend needs to be secure and it can NOT be vulnerable to attacks. Evan is obviously working to ensure this but again it's not really -proven- to defeat attacks against it yet.

If it truly works, and resists the attacks that will be thrown at it, well...that will be a good day for DarkCoin.

Also to note, a lot old hands refuse to even look on new altcoins. There must be a some sort of excitement to get them on.
I tried to ask luke-jr to at least have a look and got laughed at in the eligius channel (luke seems busy with other important stuff)
Graet didnt even answered my pm, lol.

My guess this is the general consensus from the old hands.

Dont allow single pool's to grow too big, if you’re consistent miner there are good reasons to join P2Pool!

Reward may appears low in the beginning but consistent miners are rewarded!

http://darkcoin.mine.nu

Choose the pool node with lowest latency from your local area!

example cmd
Quote
ping 127.0.0.1
the node site only pings servers from the server the site is running on , do your own ping test.

Going to put a run of these together if there's enough interest. If I get 15 orders I can get these to US residents for $23usd (payable in BTC or DRK, can use Moolah for Escrow), non-us residents we just need to figure out a shipping surcharge.

Sizes are up to 4xl

If you want in, shoot me a PM or email me at my handle name @ cointrepid.com

EDIT: Design updated to include website text

UPDATE I've had a few requests from folks in Europe, it seems most European countries would add $10 to the shipping, so shipping to the EU is available for a total of $33 (countries I've checked so far are the UK, Germany, and Belgium)

Canada only adds $5 to the shipping, so for Canadians it would be $28

We're almost at the minimum, just a few more orders needed.

Yeah, this is really a problem for the coin. If I was just now looking at getting into this coin a situation like this would scare me away. Since Coinmine will not cooperate and raise fees like it has been suggested, it is up to us miners.

MOVE YOUR HASH!
Such Pool  (dark.suchpool.pw)
Lottery Mining (lotterymining.com)
The Official Pool  (www.drkpool.com)

These are all just as stable as Coinmine. Also there is P2P and some lesser known pools if you prefer those. Let's do our part and secure the network! DRK has nearly everything going for it -- let's not let a issue like this drag down the coin.

I'm on drkpool and it seems to work ok. I had a problem with rejects to start with, but that got solved.

Personally, I am on lotterymining.  Never had a problem with downtime or payouts and the pool owner is one of the more responsive/helpful members in this thread.

I keep on scanning the announcements threads looking for new innovative coins but I honestly cannot find a single one since DarkCoin. Nothing but clones, scams and bizarro 50% premine 'country coins'. Nothing else offers anything new or any promise beyond Bitcoin. I wish all the other 'developers' would just give up and stop diluting the market. How much longer will people fall for these??!!
