iam solomining, is this bad? i get no blocks for a long time. i changed to ubuntu 14.04 and havent found any block yet, my whole log is full of this..
Unless you have 100 mh/s, I don't think you can solo successfully. It could take a year to hit a block, depending on luck. If you joined a P2pool, you'd get a steady income of blocks (your share of what's found) and that's much better. It takes 24 hours to build up to full payments but on the other hand, when you quit, you get payments for 24 hours after.

I keep on scanning the announcements threads looking for new innovative coins but I honestly cannot find a single one since DarkCoin. Nothing but clones, scams and bizarro 50% premine 'country coins'. Nothing else offers anything new or any promise beyond Bitcoin. I wish all the other 'developers' would just give up and stop diluting the market. How much longer will people fall for these??!!

Don't worry about it. Now the method and code is so widely spread, there will always be thousands of new coins every year. A very few may well be innovative: it's a democratic marketplace, and there will be a way for the leaders to separate from the pack quite soon.

Nice one. I like those little guys! I only wish my shares on the stock exchange would have risen as much as DRK since Feb.

Make sure Evan has you on his spreadsheet so that if we ever have to hard fork again, he'll include you in the notifications

Thats the reason the old hands are sceptic. Since day one of altcoins it has been rinse repeat the old fork cosmetics scheme. Bring out a fork, do some cosmetics and pump the fk. NO INNVOATION JUST PUMPI see everyday cryptocoin creation request on the freelance websites, jobs range from 800$ to 8K$. To get that this is different, one has to understand the whole bitcoin blockchain mechanism, what forks are and what would make a coin outstanding from beeing a simple pump fork. I sayd it a multiple times, bitcointalk altcoin section is like a ihub board beta, with the difference , the guys in the pennystock forums know pumping way better (you guy could learn a lot from those boards) [sarcasm off]. Darkcoin delivers quality/innovation in every aspect, we have a dedicated coder [ who actually is not a "nobody hiding in moms basement" bringing innovation, some smart guys already are strong supporters and a lot cool stuff in the making. I could start pick really badly on those fork pump coins but instead i lean back now and sipp my evening beer. Bottom line "darkcoin is different"

off topic, but slothcoin has at least a different algorithm (SHA3) and smooth start. And is funny (not like kitteh, cat etc.)

anyone know a good wu for miners? getting 2.04 mh/s but only 0.031 WU, is this normal? There really needs to be some sort of reference for this somewhere.

It seems to me that with the current darksend/denominate implementation it is dangerous to just dump the change from a darksend back into the wallet and use it with the rest of the balance. See the following chart for an example: In this chart, either or both denominates could be non-dark sends, although it is most likely that the first will be denominate. Denominate is very easy to identify as it uses the same adress for all outputs, and has powers of 10 as most output amounts. As it is trying to refigure the balence and it is easy to identify, it is very effective at showing that one person owns all of the addresses involved, potentially tying together a large amount of addresses. At some point after a darksend, the change address will most likely be included in a denominate or non-dark send with other addresses. If the change address can be linked to one of the inputs to the darksend, the intended output can usually be worked out, as there generally will only be one possible output. This could largely be fixed by pooling denominates and having each denominate output go to a different address. Another possible improvement would be to have an option to send the change to a different address, so one could send their change to a completely different wallet, to avoid accidentally mixing it, although their transaction could still be worked out by process of elimination if the other transactions mixed with theirs weren't done as carefully.

p2pool block found is anounced to irc.freenode.net #p2pool-drk
Will we need to re-compile, or just include --irc-announce in the command line? Is this going romake dark send dependent on a freenode bot in a public channel?
