interesting project
I do not know if it is planned but a distributed/decentralized marketplace on top of the protocol would be a killer app
+1 ...and then we will not have to put our trust in exchanges, and pay for their lack of security measures as we had with c-cex and poloniex.

BTW, the DarkCoin clone, Hirocoin...... a lot of people over there are excited by the fact that it uses X11, and its low power usage. Clearly a big selling point over here also, but they seem to be doing a good job at marketing the X11. I see X11 written around the place a lot more than here. Just a thought ... As it seems that X11 is getting a decent amount of attention now. I'm the developer of Hirocoin and I want to help position X11 as the next home of GPU miners. I remember what the GPU miners moving from SHA-256 to Scrypt did for Scrypt based coins like Litecoin. There will come a point where Scrypt ASICs are common and GPU miners will need to move on. Making X11 the standard to move to will be huge news for Darkcoin and Hirocoin. Plus it will bring better tools for our coins. By the way, Hirocoin is more of a Litecoin clone that uses X11. Darkcoin offers anonymity and unique difficulty handling where Hirocoin is your conventional offering but done well. Check GitHub for the thorough work that went into it. Launching Hirocoin helps solidify X11 place in crypto. If Darkcoin is the sole user of X11 it will not get the tractions it needs. Darkcoin is successful and I plan to make Hirocoin successful to, this will bring more attention to X11 and more coins using this solution. Now is the time to push Evan's X11 to secure long term success for Darkcoin.

Have you observed in your task manager if enough RAM is there? I couldnt think of any reason why the miner would crash. have you tried another OS or is it not possible for you to switch it?

Apart from not being completely transparent about the roots of Hirocoin, I guess more exposure for x11 is good but I definitely didn't like the ninjalaunch. The creator of Litecoin works for a bitcoin company and gives development priority to bitcoin. The overriding idea being giving back to bitcoin is good for Litecoin in the long-term. Giving back would be a good start. Pick a mutually beneficial project, bug fix, etc.

darkcoin price chart is going down steadily to oblivion. this coin is not only bad for miners ( low profitability) its also horrible for investors. http://postimg.org/image/kylsqtkm1what is even MORE retarded is its 400+ difficulty. is it possible, that you are a little smartass? have you ever mined a coin for profit? the difficulty is hovering around 300, BUT you have 3 x more hashrate with DRK than LTC-scrypt AND only ~65 % energy-costs the rest of the numbers - you may get them, when you are really smart

coinmine.pl about 60% hash rate
Yeah, this is really a problem for the coin. If I was just now looking at getting into this coin a situation like this would scare me away. Since Coinmine will not cooperate and raise fees like it has been suggested, it is up to us miners. MOVE YOUR HASH! Such Pool ( dark.suchpool.pw) Lottery Mining ( lotterymining.com) The Official Pool ( www.drkpool.com) These are all just as stable as Coinmine. Also there is P2P and some lesser known pools if you prefer those. Let's do our part and secure the network! DRK has nearly everything going for it -- let's not let a issue like this drag down the coin. yeah, that what we as miners should do right now - it's our responsibility! secure the network by distributing your hash-power - what is the great goal for mining at a stable pool like coinmine, when an attack happens - then there is a great turbulence with DRK do you want to have such desaster? i personally mine at P2P-pool and lotterymining yeah it has come down to a bit over 50 % at coinmine.pl from 60 % but even this is too high! are you miners at coinmine.pl too lazy to distribute your hashrate or even too greedy? i like this pool too - low rejects and only a little bit over 100 % solving rate - middle and long term but its not good for the coins image to have such a big pool ober 50 % though i have to say it again -> miners at coinmine.pl: Please distribute your hashrate!

I'm not sure what you mean. I put a Darkcoin logo next to the bit about X11 and give full credit to Evan. Also Darkcoin is not conventional, it is unique would you not agree to that with its features? When I say conventional I mean like normal, what people are used to. Darkcoin has gone the extra distance and it is commendable. I am trying to help build X11 as this secures the future of Darkcoin in a big way. EDIT: I have removed the bit where I say Hirocoin is conventional compared to Darkcoin. I hope this improves the situation for you. I have tried to contact Evan to offer my support and will try again. I am not working against Darkcoin but am trying to work with by offering my support. I am contacting people to make optimised miners for X11 and the more support we have the more likely it will be that be that X11 will win over GPU miners long term. I am willing to put my money where my mouth is and fund further development that anyone that chooses X11 can use. We are working in open source software of which I am a strong believer in. Having other people use the code is part of it. I find a lot of segregation in crypto and it is bad, I have always been happy to work with others and will continue to do so. The launch of Hirocoin was announced the day before by the way but without a time to make sure no megaminers turned up, these guys can ruin it for everyone by mining coins only to dump later. I have my reasons and I intend to support and help where I can with development if Evan is interest. If you think there is anything I am hiding then please ask but perhaps on the Hirocoin thread or by PM, I do not want to take this thread off topic so we should leave this conversation for somewhere else.

I got a i5 2500K at 4600mhz with an alpenföhn cooler running at 70-80 degrees, the case is very well cooled. On the otehr hand, why not get a linux distro and try it there? Dualboot is installed in like 15 minutes, if its not working there you know its the cpu.

After much thought....I decided not to buy one of these and instead focus on Darkcoin mining. But it is very tempting. EDIT - this summer will be dominated by ASICs for scrypt. Expect more GPU miners on Darkcoin.
