tried to send 47 darkcoins and it says I need to pay a fee of 4.1 darkcoins (I tried to send ~70 but it said transaction too large). ?!

Uncheck Use DarkSend checkbox on the right side of the wallet...
I may just be blind, but I don't think there is any "use darksend" option on my wallet, I am trying to find it but really don't see anything. Where is it exactly?  9.3.3
Darksend is only available with RC2 (v0.10.x).

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

Can someone explain to me why DRK is still rising when a wallet was just released for BTC that allows for anonymous transactions?

http://www.teambitcoin.com/blog/2014/5/8/darkwallet-here-to-make-bitcoin-anonymous-again

Doesn't this make DRK's "darksend" technology second rate?  I am a bit confused, can someone please explain to me or any potential investors?  Thanks

Do you REALLY trust a BROWSER PLUGIN with your money==?Huh

...thats the most stupid idea since "enter your creditcard information here to check if your creditcard was stolen".

Hi, how does DRK compare to Bytecoin (BCN) and it's existing forks (Monero, Quazar, Fantomcoin.. etc).
Why should I invest on DRK and not any of these, or future Zerocash? Price seems to high for me to get a strong position, missed the boat i think. I dont buy the retarded 1DRK= 1BTC predictions. There was some guy saying it would go up to 3-4 BTC. lol

Hi there.  Darkcoin is also implementing ring signatures, right after it finishes with the decentralized mixing through masternodes, so there will not be any competitive advantage for those coins you mention. Besides the Darkcoin Dev team has proven credibility being the creators of X11, difficulty retargeting protocol DGW3, and decentralized masternode system Darksend. Soon to come are ring signatures and i2P ip obfuscation. This team has proven that they can deliver on their promises and have great work ethics, the developers are committed full time to the project till at least Jan 2016. Besides DRK has brand recognition, first mover advantage and a very strong, intelligent and loyal community.  Do your research, but I would strongly recommend investing in DRK.

Edit: On Zerocoin vs Dark here you go: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg5241291#msg5241291

Even though I am a pessimist I personally predicted 0.01 (for May) and now I can't believe I was probably right. Grin

Saw something similar in 9.3.3.

Tried to send 141 coins to one of my other wallets and it said "transaction too large" and asked for a 0.009 fee. I paid it since it was reasonable and the transaction went through without issue, but I've sent larger amounts to myself or to exchanges in the past and have never seen that pop up.

Because Darkcoins anonymity features are superior, and built in.

can i have nodes plz. my wallet is not updateing

what version of wallet ??

GUys you must understand that you can't just delete darkcoin.exe wallet and download new and expect to sync!!!

1st show hidden folders
then go users/app data/roaming/Darkcoin

in that folder (DARKCOIN) delete everything except wallet.dat

THEN you start new wallet that you downloaded and let it SYNC from start!

it must work!!!!

Seriously? Was this explained anywhere else? Not in official website at least, or I just haven't noticed. Doing it now anyway.

Attention to all miners!

There will be an hard fork in a few hours caused by the last update, and therefore you need to be mining with pools that have the most updated DarkCoin daemon (0.9.3.3) in order to mine the correct blockchain.

You can mine in mine pool as I just updated (and tested) the integration with the new Darkcoin daemon.

No registration needed!

pool.terahashers.com
stratum+tcp://pool.terahashers.com:5001 -u <walletaddress> -p <anypassword>

There are not much miners because the pool was only created 2 days ago, but I plan invest a lot of effort to make it a big pool.
But everything if working fine (including payment processing), except for the website that for some strange reason (I finished the website part in some hours ago...) does not appear very well on Firefox (google chrome is OK).

It has some nice features, like VARDIFF to make the most of your mining hardware and internet connection.

I think you are right... that's why i wrote it... its logical for me!!!

and i never had any problems with wallet sync

NOTE TO WEB ADMINS!!!! put this somewhere, put link PROBLEM WITH SYNC? and explain to rest of the world that you need to delete files in app data/roaming/darkcoin (all except wallet.dat)

Darkwallet is still alpha... however more importantly they are using a centralized server. Now a Darkwallet dev came here to explain that all the data is encrypted client side (a la blockchain.info), but handling client side encryption, via a browser plugin, still has it risks.  Even if that is without problem, the biggest issue with Darkwallet is that a centralized server is much easier to shutdown compared to a decentralized currency like DRK. Even with the masternodes, since there will be a few thousand of them if some get shutdown or ddos'ed DarkSend will still function. Who knows what will happen to your bitcoins if the Darkwallet server gets attacked.

And if you have ever heard Amir Taaki (main DW dev) speak then you will know for that for how smart he seems to be - he also does a very good job of painting a target on his back.

For my case I just clicked ok to accept the fee since it was small. Maybe PM Evan to get to the bottom of the issue.

Side note. I have a mess load of masternodes to setup. Wondering what others here are doing. How is the price with AWS? Or digitalOcean? Anyone getting billed extra for data or other things? Basically wondering what's best experience so far. I think tantestefana locked down an aws?

Did you see my post erlyer? also on darkcoin talk. We have a VPS service provider accepting Darkcoins (also some otherones)
