*** PLEASE UPDATE TO 9.4.8 OR 10.8.8 ***
Stable (v0.9.4.8 )

    Windows
    Source

Release Candidates (v0.10.8.8 )

    Windows RC2 (Darksend)
    Ubuntu GUI RC2 (Darksend)
    Ubuntu daemon RC2 (Darksend)

bump

cd in the folder containing the executable (windows or ubuntu) and

Code:
darkcoin-qt -reindex

Code:
darkcoind -reindex

Or delete everything in the darkcoin folder except the wallet.dat

It stuck on some block number again!

Some masternodes are destroying whole network. There are so many block chains.

If you have the latest wallet, start it with the -reindex option.
you can follow then the debug.log file, to have something scrolling on you screen and pretending to work, if you work in IT.

so u need to buy 1000 darks to get how much a day ?

There is only 4,327,544 DRK in curculation out of 22 000 000 so it means ~500% more inflation right ?

People please, read before you reach conclusions. Here is the Darkcoin FAQ http://wiki.darkcoin.eu/wiki/FAQ

The masternode payments come from the block rewards same as before, minimum block reward is 5, of that 4.5 go to miners and .5 go to masternodes. So daily output of fresh coins is the same no additional inflation. Plus Darkcoin rewards go down 7% each year starting next year creating a nice deflationary curve, instead of halving every few years.  This is a great store of value.

Some masternodes are destroying whole network. There are so many block chains.

Code:
./darkcoind stop
mv darkcoind darkcoind_100806
wget http://www.darkcoin.io/downloads/rc/darkcoind
chmod 700 darkcoind
./darkcoind -daemon -reindex

should actually get you going!

you can check darkcoind's cpu usage using "top". While it's reindexing it should be using >>90% cpu time

I'm doing it 5 times now.

I deleted whole files except fresh wallet.dat and redownloaded all.
It stuck at different blocks time to time.

I'm praying not to stuck this time.

This is not a small problem. It didn't happen before this hardfork.

Exact same thing happened to me, I had to do darkcoind stop then start it again (no reindex) over and over until it eventually downloaded the whole thing.

Hi guys!!

I'm CTO @ fruitwallet - multi cryptocurrency wallet for iPhone.
it's HTML5 based, and also hardware tied to your phone.

Last month we added LTC and DOGE.... but i feel that there will be only 2 currency in fruitwallet - BTC and DRK Smiley)))))))))))
I'm working now on multisig and private keys generation and storage in phone localstorage, and this will be released in a month or so...

But if somebody need fast DRK wallet for iPhone right now - i can add it to our current version....

What do you think?

this sounds like a good idea... i suggest you repeat this post in an few hours or days because in the moment evrybody is totaly occupied with getting this masternode thing working that was initialysed yesteray with a hard fork.
thank you

Thumbs Up Smiley

Love seeing new merchants keep coming up here and expressing support and adoption of the coin.

It will. I have a local/remote setup - I looked into it a little bit more and noticed that my local wallet was stuck on a block. Frustrating, but fine - fixable. There is a lot of noise in the network right now - there are no real worries - problems will come up and be solved - not everyone will set it up and have it working right away.

But one thing I know about this community - is that the bulk of them know this isn't a real problem and are just waiting to buy more cheap DRK.

big DDOS atacks. Darkcointal down, official pool down. Forks on the network ! It'stime for cheap DRK !

This whole charade has been a bit of a mess hasn't it. You would think with a market cap of $59 Million United States Dollars it could have been planned and executed perfectly with a full and thorough analysis of any potential problems and the appropriate action implemented to avoid them.
The market cap grew to this point because the developer promised a "release candidate" version. He made that promise when the market cap was way lower.
I think he had two options:
- Ignore the inevitably fluctuating real-time price and continue on with the development schedule as planned, hoping that everybody remembers: cryptocurrencies are all BETA tests right now and this is a "bleading egde" branch.
- Let the circus influence his work and also disappoint the over-excited market by delaying the release.

Darkcoin is NUMBER 3 in the Crypto world!

I created a list of coins and ranked them according to average trades for last 30 days: http://emill.org/coins

And, according to the ranking, Darkcoin is NUMBER 3 with average trade volume $1.3 Million a DAY

Congratulation to the developers and miners!

Wondering the same thing.

Seems like these nodes are the reason that the network keeps forking. Furthermore, even after everybody updates, this presents an obvious attack vector if Evan doesn't add some sort of auto-ban for outdated clients in the future.
