It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I think we are overstating the issue of "panic sellers". I don't see that much action really. People weren't selling at 0.026, why would they sell at 0.016 or 0.013? Only if they've made like 10-50-100x and they are like "ok, let's bank some money". Otherwise there's not much temptation. One, two, three bagholders might dump, but generally? I don't see this happening.
Have any of the fundamentals changed? Not really. This is in active development and things like that can happen and will happen again in the future. It's not "final". I warned about this several times.
Having said that, Dark's resilience is immense. I remember the hacked BTC dumps in Feb and it was going back to 0.002 wave after wave of dumping down to 0.0008, we were all like W T F, this is amazing.
Same yesterday. Price didn't give a f*** despite the forks. There are some buyer whales who seem intent to buy everything. And they will now cost-average their buys (which they did up to 280) with buying dumps at half that. AND they will also future-proof their investment by panic-dumpers while cost-averaging the price.
This is not so worrying for the price, but worrying for the top100 distribution really where the rich will get richer by buying because DRK will be concentrated on the few who act opposite the market trend in dumps. But, as I said earlier, it's not that much of a volume because there is no temptation to sell at 0.016 when you've seen 0.028.

I was just going to think "what a waste of time reading last 10 pages was", and then this.

Thank you.  Smiley

I won't take any offence  Wink

Hi ya'll. Brand new to this. I am trying to configure my sgminer to mine darkcoins and I have downloaded two different miners. one of them runs a lot of shares  but rejects them and says "rejected share above target." And the other seems to run- but never solves anything. Just works and works and no accepted (or rejected for that matter). I dont know why either of things would be happening. I am running this miner on a windows machine with 2 sapphire vapor-x 7950s. I also have a linux machine that has 3 7950s i would like to change over soon also. ANy help would be greatly appreciated.
PS this is my .bat file for both-(except for the one that is rejecting shares I have --algorithm darkcoin).
etx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
sgminer.exe -k darkcoin -o stratum+tcp://drkpool.com:3333 -u xxx -p xxx --thread-concurrency 8000 -I 18 --lookup-gap 2 --
worksize 256 -g 1 --gpu-engine 1160 --gpu-memclock 1425

camosoul: What about you finally post something about DarkCoin rather than yourself or your ego?

Answer the question yourself. The clues are all around you.

But you prefer passive aggressive insults... Interesting...

See what I did there?

Don't need to worry. Evan is working on it...not even considering bailing.
Just wish I had money for more DRKs.

Ditto, why do I have to be so damn poor!

You'll look back at this in a year or so and get a tear in your eye about how far you've come since May 2014
I like looking at my old posts on another account from 2011 about struggling to buy more bitcoin

Holy crap! Massive surge on cryptsy haha!!!

This is frigging incredible. The price is momentarily higher then when it stopped trading on mintpal.

This is a HUGE indicator that people in the know think that DRK is still good. Wow. I don't fully understand all the technical stuff, but money talks. DRK froze on mintpal, eall to ~.0013 on cryptsy, and has now - somehow - rallied back to ~.0017

Honestly, I assumed DRK was dead. Good-night. See ya later. But 10's of thousands of dollars have been used to instantly buy DRK since then WTF?

Also, all these paid trolls are amazing. They're just too obvious. Why else would they all be here - many with new accounts - if they didn't want DRK to fail? Its sad that the crypto community has gotten so fierce that it now pays to have people sabotage coins any way they can, but I've never seen such heat on one coin before. Nothing even close. They're well organized, you gotta give them that.

I'm amazed to see that DRK is apparently surviving all of this. People just bought HEAPS of DRK. Hope we can get this fixed in the next few days, and reclaim our image. Everyone vocally hates DRK, yet people are buying it by the $10's of thousands. Been here since the beginning, and we hardly ever pump this coin. Most other coins are primarily pump, haha. Incredible. DOGE is the community everyone loves, and they did alright. DRK is the community everyone hates, and we're still doing awesome.

I'm guessing it will settle on .0014 tonight. Maybe .001 in the next few days. If everything is fixed, it'll head back to .002+ in a day or so.

Shocked this coin isn't dead. Any shit-coin would be, haha.

My take on Darkcoin and Bitcoin

Darkcoin

I've also researched Darkcoin very well and even though there was a issue with many coins being mined because of an accident with the block rewards, it's safe to say that 99% of those coins mined by early miners, were sold early, I have examples below.

1) Darkcoin is the first x11 algorithm coin, it is very ASIC resistant and allows GPU mining, to stop botnet farms from controlling the coin
2) Darkcoin is the first DGW coin, or Dark Gravity Wave coin
3) Darkcoin is the first coin to have the Masternode Process built in. Masternodes serve as an incentive to uphold the network as well as get paid 10% of the coins mined every block, and they allow anonymous transactions to happen, similar to how TOR works(TOR is 100% anonymous)
4) Darkcoin's Darksend ability gives you the Option to anonymously send your coins, you can either send coins regulary or Anonymously, which gives a lot of freedom for an anonymous coin and is not an option for Cryptonote coins
5) Darkcoin has one of the most Devoted and Competent Dev's in the Crypto World, he has proven time and time again to be fully able to providing Darkcoin with the best updates and advances, and soon enough would be comparable to Satoshi himself

Bitcoin

1) Private Companies would never use Bitcoin
2) Individuals who want privacy would never use Bitcoin
3) High Net Worth people/clients would never use Bitcoin
4) Celebrities would never use Bitcoin
5) Government branches would never use Bitcoin
6) Practically anyone or anything, that values privacy would never use Bitcoin

1) Private Companies would never use Bitcoin, because that would risk having competitors know all their transaction info and using it against them, hence why Bitcoin has never gained a foothold on companies

2) Individuals who want privacy would never use Bitcoin because using it is like having everyone around you know you're bank statements, credit card info, practically every purchase you ever made and everything you ever recieved, which is very scary.

3) High Net Worth clients/people would never use Bitcoin because that would ruin their chances of getting/maintaining the upperhand in whatever field their in. Ex: Warren Buffet buys 400 shares of Conzartop LLC which recently made a cure for cancer using Bitcoin, his competitor Ran Tuffet sees this on the blockchain and plan to sabotage/lower Conzartop shares on the stock market to make Warren Buffet lose out big, or they simply copy him and buy shares with Conzatop, effetively making money by doing nothing but copying Warren Buffet.

4) Celebrities would never use Bitcoin because their address can be traced back to them, and that would be a huge problem, considering they're stalked by the paparazzi and others every single day

5) Government branches would never use Bitcoin because that would be just about the stupidest thing they could do, it would risk their enemies knowing every single transaction they make and would make spying on each other much much easier.
