Purely from a trading point of view, I still think we could be range-bound between .0185 and .0155 for another week or so... (then breakout up I believe).

So I got few questions...

Is this update something that was suppose to be live 1 month ago in development schedule? Then again on June 20? Both times failed miserably... and now there is some hope?

What's the big issue about masternode payments anyway? I see two outcomes:

1. People expecting huge returns will get disappointed. After initial testing hype the number of darksend transactions will fall, while the number of masternodes will greatly increase.
2. More inflation due to masternode payments. More dark = cheaper dark.

This is a circlejerk 'to-the-moon' thread so I do not expect a quality reply but maybe someone will surprise me  Grin

Just think what changed since last week.
We have larger dev team, better testnet, working masternode payments - implemented in zero risk solution.

That's what I love about DRK - one of the safest alt to buy/hold/trade out there.

Masternode payments are taken from coins mined so this makes no difference to inflation. In fact, coins going into the hands of MN operators rather than miners may actually reduce inflation as I think the MN owners will be less likely to dump as they receive the coins.

First do your homework, then you can talk properly about darkcoin and ask your questions:

I am becoming more and more fascinated by the long-term charts (1w/3d/1d), which indicate continued "sideways" movement for a few more days.

I have not seen such strong charts for any other altcoin. For me they indicate that as long as things continue as they are, without any major catastrophe, Drk is set to go up, even by as much as an order of magnitude, as the summer months go by.

From a trading technical analysis of the chart,  I agree, we are still range bound. A breakout and close above 0.01800 is needed for the up trend to continue.

I like the idea but I assume the miners will think differently. Still there won't be that many darksend transactions for this to be a big issue. Why pay for this darksend when currently most transactions are to and from exchanges.

Right now is the fundamentals time, events have much higher impact on price than short term TA.
Remember how easy we broke out north out of the down/up trend lines triangle last week? This was huge.
And how easy we dipped after unfortunate Mintpal's announcement?

Once everything is priced in and there are no big news - yeah, TA all the way.

Once the payments are enforced, 20% of all mining will go to MN owners 24/7. The number of darksend transactions has no bearing on this and the miners have no choice.

Wow wow wow, im so excited Smiley

so network looks stable. Did evan and his team now invent a new technique for hardforking called "spork"? Smiley Could this be used in general for doing a hardfork and getting the last bugs sorted out in mainnet?

That would be another unique development for all cryptos.

I think a soft as opposed to hard fork has been around for a while so we can't take the credit. Calling it a SPORK! is genius though (credits to jimbit on darkcointalk I believe).

So we have masternode payments running.

Our own ebay - get your non crypto friends to earn themselves some DRK and join the party!
darkbids.com

Our own multi pool - script sha256 and x11 paying out in DRK only
http://www.xpool.ca/get_started

And RC4 with full anonymity, 10 drk darksend limit lifting, other services built on master nodes, and heaps more to look forward to!

Good times!

The big bump in the road is yet to come when enforcement is switched on. Hold on tight.

I'm not keen on one person having so much control over the network. I do hope he will relinquish this control in a future update when everything is back on track.

Not fud - I own a MN.

Anybody have a current list of updated pools?

So far I have,
Official
SuchPool
And recently Coinmine

+ various p2pools (details in the thread). Any others?

What if some pools doesn't update? is there any enforcement for them? sorry for this noob question.

Not yet.  Currently pools must update so masternodes get paid. This is already underway.

Furthermore, the blocks that the network thinks should be rejected are currently being recorded in the logs. Once the logs check out (i.e. there are no bugs), enforcement HARDFORK will be switched on remotely by Evan. This is stage two of the launch.

The good thing is that you DON'T need to update again to be ready for the enforcement HARDFORK and masternode payments will not need to be stopped for any reason.

CORRECTED !
Dont minimize the bug in this coin !
Masternode or how to become a mining pool getting fee for mined block and all of that for only 1000drk LOL. That's costly and risky for a pool...
Its all about this because your coin is not anonymous,no asic proof(fpga).
Its a old scam coin with old tech...

Don't worry about the mining and miners.
It is a self adjusting system. Low profit > miners go away > difficulty lowers > profit rises > miners came back .. etc..
