A brief analysis from our side:

Please be accurate, this is YOUR side, you are not speaking for everyone.

First, speaking for myself, I don't care about the 2-3 weeks. If you are 100% in DRK, you would likely believe in the potential of the coin. Knowing full well that it's -never- claimed to be in any other state other than BETA for the moment.

2-3 weeks is more than appropriate to not only do more testing but also you need to consider that you need to allocate an appropriate amount of time for outside parties, pools and exchanges, to prepare and schedule for another update.

If you were watching the action yesterday, virtually everyone in IRC was screaming "it's working, don't revert!". Evan stuck to his guns and kept his own standards for what was appropriate for DRK.

Show me another coin that has the long-term trend DRK has? Show me another coin that has been gaining traction as DRK has? Show me another coin that has gotten more and more media attention as DRK has? Show me another coin who's developer has a proven record of dedicating himself to actually coding something? Show me another coin with a growing development team as DRK has? Are there others? Sure. So either sell your DRK (or some of it) and get into those too. If you are that anxious about 2-3 weeks to get something right, you simply shouldn't be "all in" on DRK much less any coin.

Yesterday's actions (once again) show me that the DRK team is concerned about the long-term and not that day-to-day daytraders. Which, for me, is all the more reason to stay with DRK and just ignore the day-to-day drama.

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

The potential of DRK in 2-3 weeks will not be the same than today. Regarding other coins, long term is more than 3 months. I will not start a debate about other coins, because we will not going anywhere. More than 1 month is fatal in crypto currency world.

The developers setup a revert in just 20 minutes. You can setup the RC3 fork in 2-3 days. (we are not in 90's, we are in the crypto world of 2014).

Regarding the quality standards, just the same thing than eCash (I'm sure that you know the topic), and many other products and services.

People are forgetting that RC4 was due out at the end of July. Pushing RC3 back 2-3 weeks will likely mean RC3 and RC4 coming out on top of each other.

For this to happen, RC4 will need to have much of the development work under way. Minor delays for the current coordination would probably push RC4 back into first or second week of August. So RC3 and RC4, if sufficiently close together, will see a huge increase in price that is sustained into RC4, so what is in RC4 to keep the price going up through high demand? That is the 64,000 DRK question.

Few days ago a bug with the voting system, (found by a 3rd party). Yesterday nobody view that is possible create two block at almost relative same time with the same hash, and said that will be difficult to predict on testnet. (it happen all the time).

Lol. Things always seem trivial to notice after being discovered by others.

If those bugs were so obvious, why didn't you just point them out yourself in the first place? Why don't you just get your own coin up and running? You obviously never wrote a single line of code.

I'm bummed out too, that I didn't make a quick buck from someone else's work yesterday, but I don't blame anyone for it.

Patience minerjav Smiley Dev team augmentation is a big factor. Don't underestimate what is going behind the scenes.

As always make good investment decisions yourself and don't feed off of the interwebs.

Edit: requesting everyone to be patient with minerjav too.

Agree with ya on this one, Quality of the product in the end trumps small gyrations in price. If we hope to have services and a community that supports the coin we must keep working to be better in these ways. Our growing team should help assure increased quality of future releases.

My own proposal regarding this is to do parallel development:

You can have Evan fix payments, another guy working on I2P integration, another one working on merged mining to create a "testbed" for future developments, another trying to merge bitcoin code developments on darkcoin, another working for an encrypted end-to-end system that will allow anonymous payments - etc etc.

If we take stuff in a serial way where A must be finished to get the job done in B to then go to C to then go to D, instead of working A / B / C / D in parallel, you stay behind.

Multi-threading is the answer Tongue

Thanks to give this type of answer to a formal supporter. Some members are loosing the perspective.
You will be get a big surprise about the number of lines of code that I wrote in the last 30 years.
I will not extend on this point because the answer level is going lower.

Hi AlexGr,
I will take this opportunity to said Thank you for the quick copy-paste from IRC channel yesterday. Without you, we will be blind on the progress of the events.
Thanks.
I want to help with the development, but unfortunately I have some pending projects that require my full attention (not related with Cryptos).
I'm pushing hard to finish them asap and add more value to this great concept coin, as I announce several weeks ago, my contribution could be more oriented to hardware, more details after have a better idea about what will happen with RC3 and RC4

You will be get a big surprise about the number of lines of code that I wrote in the last 30 years.

Then you should be aware of the fact that there are bugs that are difficult to spot within a simulated environment such as testnet. Also that the most obvious mistakes usually are those that cause you the most headache. Maybe you have spent countless hours on tracking down a problem that just doesn't seem to exist when there's a debugger attached. Like problems with (supposedly) synced threads that can be a huge pain in the ass.

I'm either getting you totally wrong or I just can't understand your opinion.

For miners using AMD hardware:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=658411
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=658975

Apparently new AMD drivers combined with SGminer improvements produce >5 MH/s for 290's.

Always use binaries with caution for trojans/viruses etc - I haven't personally tested any of them.

where is the progress you're talking about?

Right in front of my eyes mate:

I don't have a problem with taking 2 attempts at deploying a hard fork as long as the functionality in that hard fork represents a significant strategic leap forward.

Taking 2 shots at it isn't the issue. The issue is how the devs react to the setback because situations like this can either make or break a technology project. In this case, I'm of the opinion that this setback will be the "making" of Darkcoin, the reasons being that:

 - it is being reacted to in an aggressively constructive manner
 - following this event, DRK is likely to have a development and testing capacity that blows most crypto currency projects away
 - we are now doing "serious" functionality that gets to the heart of what this coin was about. A 3 week delay is nothing
 - DRK's market penetration is now huge, with multiple fiat gateways, top 5 listings everywhere. To have that PLUS a solid product that has traversed the "right of passage" phase will make DRK almost unassailable
 - other coins just have all this in front of them. It's par for the course in any high tech project.

I was disappointed to learn that the votes weren't part of the hash... Well duh... No wonder the forks aren't working... But, my hand did not go weak.

Need to update OP title... Still says "HARD FORK JUNE 20TH"
