Why dosnt technical analysis work for alts? Short history of a said coin does not have enough trends yet?

It does work, at least partially. It works because people trade off what they read on the charts. It's an example of reflexivity.

I argue that that would be true in the wide market of markets. This is not a wide market, but at this point, a highly scrutinised causal-effeted market.

At this moment in time, you basically have 3 consistent markets.

 a) Technologists and visionaries, who believe DRK is a solid solution. Masternoders and high stakers.
 b) Merciless DRK multipools who invest in real-time profit, dumping as they mine. (inversely analogous to LTC)
 d) Small stakers and newcomers, snatching b) dumps.... nom nom nom style (whom I envy!!)

If you just look at the available sell volume, you may as well take the day off to find the time to catch your breath.

Another big update for RC4 which is currently still in development and being tested here : https://darkcointalk.org/threads/rc4-testing.1830/page-29

****** REMINDER, BELOW INFO IS FOR THOSE ACTIVELY TESTING RC4 !! DOWNLOAD-LINKS ARE FOR TESTING PURPOSES ON TESTNET ONLY!! ********
** Latest Clients for normal use are still : 9.11.6 (stable) and 10.11.6 (RC3, includes Darksend) found on first page : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.0 **

From Evan :

****** RC4 update 10.12.8 *******

This was another pretty large update:

 - Fixed a few issues with input selection causing the "Insufficent Funds 2" error
 - Masternodes now reset themselves when they give "entries is full". Not sure what's causing it but a client will just try again
 - Improved the split up function
 - Fixed issues with AutoDenom in wallets larger than a few hundred
 - Fixed a case for collateral charges where the client gave up when it shouldn't have
 - Input selection will now only select denominated, non-denominated or all inputs. This caused ds+ inputs to get interrupted by the splitting mechanism sometimes.
 - Added new GUI element for selecting which inputs you want to send
 - Fixed darksend+ rounds function, it was returning bad data in some cases causing darksend inputs to never stop being sent through darksend.
 - Fixed "Send" dialog to be able to use the different kinds of inputs available. Sending anonymous transactions should now work properly.

DoAutoDenominate should work in nearly all cases now. However, there are some known issues:
 - Random collateral charges (still will happen, but it's more uncommon.)
 - Password protected wallets

Testing commands, you can start multiple wallets up and all denominate on the same masternode for testing purposes:
 /darkcoin-qt -datadir=/home/user/.darkcoin -listen=0 -darksendrounds=8 -usemasternode="192.168.56.102:19999"
 /darkcoin-qt -datadir=/home/user/.darkcoin2 -listen=0 -darksendrounds=8 -usemasternode="192.168.56.102:19999"

and even disable darksend auto-denom if wanted:
 /darkcoin-qt -datadir=/home/user/.darkcoin -listen=0 -darksendrounds=8 -usemasternode="192.168.56.102:19999" -disabledarksend=1

I suppose a really privacy aware user (or group of users) could have their own private masternode using these commands too. Another use case I hadn't thought of.

Altcoins have very limited liquidity. There can be whole hours where nobody is trading.
That's not a market that can have technical analysis.
I wouldn't even call most altcoins "markets" because the trading at any given time is so low...

Bitcoin is slowly getting there, to become a real market... so as to have technical analysis applicable like atleast on a small stock... but it needs more liquidity to work better.

But altcoins? Those aren't markets.

I partially agree, partially disagree. T/A works on penny stocks which many happen to be very illiquid, however, the methods that seems to work best is when there is expansion in trading activity. Likewise, T/A works best in crypto when you start seeing activity. Periods of lulls suck, plain and simple.

Earn your own DRK coins by mining at the multipool. Not only that, you can earn DRK using your old ASIC hardware on SHA256 and SCRYPT coins!

DarkCoin by xpool - DRK Multipool

PROP reward system
DRK Payouts
Scrypt & SHA256 & X11 Algo's
DDoS Protected
High Performance Backend
Simple setup and usage
0% Fees while in BETA
To mine:

How does it work?

xpool offers 3 different sets of coins to mine. SHA256, Scrypt and X11. Each algorithm runs on a shift. Currently there is no set interval as there needs to be enough found and confirmed blocks to make trading worthwhile on the exchanges. We don't want to finish a shift only to find out, the exchanges are going to eat up the payout in fees or limit the withdraw with a large minimum. The confirmed coins are traded throughout the duration of the shift automatically to maximize the profits from exchanging them into DRK. Once enough confirmed blocked are accumulated, the shift is moved into "Trading" status while all the exchanged coins are calculated into DRK and then queued for payment. Once all the coins are confirmed as successfully traded and exchanged, the DRK payments are sent.

As the pool picks up more hashing speed and sufficient DRK can be picked up from the exchanges, the shifts will be set to a schedule and payouts more frequent and less worry about the exchanges. This is a growing phase so the more hash support the better.
If a DRK block is found, there's no exchanging or loss of fees as it can simply be moved into the X11 payout queue.

The advantage of the pool is that you can utilize your older ASIC equipment to earn you the more desired DarkCoin.
Cheers and Happy Hashing!

Donations welcome!

The latest shift payments have finished. Nearly 32 DRK sent out to miners on all 3 algos!

Cheers!

ZPOOL - the miners multipool! Support We pay 10 FLUX Parallel Assets (PA) directly to block rewards! Get paid more and faster. No PA fee's or waiting around for them, paid instantly on every block found!

Wouldn't the correct approach be finding out what this is being caused by? Not just make a workaround and hope that this can't be exploited into something bad?

I understand that the threat maybe real but when I follow the links I end up over at Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux File Server. (took 3 clicks)

Is this threat something we need to worry about because it appears that banks and financial insitutions are the many target/goal??

it is more in line with, check your aws if its been compromised

...

Hi Darkcoiners!

I received a pm from one of your members expressing concerns that CLOAK community members have been "trolling" in DRK threads, as such and on behalf of the cloak team I would like to express our sentiments about this.

Cloak team is in no way against DarkCoin or any other Cryptocurrency. We don't condone behaviour of certain individuals that deliberately attack others coins. Running, building and innovating a coin is ALLOT of work and as a dev team we are naturally respectful of those efforts. An effort from us will be made to stop the trolling by messaging certain individuals.

We both have different angles of approach to deal with anon and ours (like our coin) is very much in it's infancy. You guys are allot more established and are a leading example of the demand for coin anonymity.

The markets are indeed punishing and only the strongest get to reach and stay in the top tiers but despite the fierce competition there's room for other coins without the need for antagonising community rivalry.

We will try to encourage people not to FUD in other coins threads such as yours and would request that the same is done in return.

Good luck going forward and let's hope that during the times to come our communities can co-exist in a "grown up" manor without the day-to-day unnecessary drama. We can at least try Wink

I  SERIOUSLY doubt it's going to be solved with a WORK-AROUND

This is still TESTNET and not mainnet.
Testing takes time and things are goning to fail.
When things fail lessons are learned.
Fixes will be applied and then the next bug squashed - etc etc

I took what you said to be FUD

You guys are obviously having a bad day.  One Darkcoin supporter calling another a fudster.

And just how was their post fud?
