camosoul for the love of dog run a dumprivkey on whatever you have left...
I believe he got everything back I hope so, all the more reason to backup now to paper, and so should everyone else. Plus, as we've seen it isn't enough to have backups, you need to verify them each time too if possible - I know it's a pain in the arse but it saves grief down the road. Nobody takes backups seriously until it's too late and they're screwed. A newbie question - how do you back up to paper? Is the private key stored in plain text? Or is there any app to get it out of wallet.dat? I have a few digital backups but would not mind the paper as well This is Backup. To make it quick and easy, type 'dumpprivkey <public address that is in your wallet>' in the wallets' console, and write down (copy / paste to a text editor, public and the according private key) both. Then print it out, twice, and store each in a different physical location. Fresh paper wallet. The nice way would be to grab the DRK address generator, go offline, open the file in web browser, generate new wallet (with qr code, and nice layout), print that out and distribute the your coins across these 'new and fresh' paper wallets. So the coins are nowhere online, just on the papers' cold storage address. http://paper.darkcoin.io/Grab the source from git, and create paper wallets offline.

My guess is that your new wallet has lost the addresses relating to the 100 drks after you ran salvagewallet. I would try to backup current wallet to a new location. Find old wallet and try to run salvagewallet again. See if it changes.
I've tried all kind of machinations with my wallet.dat files and it always ends up the same way. Do you have address of the 100 drks? Can you find it on the explorer? No I don't have an address and actually I'm sitting on my old wallet.dat now with that unconfirmed transaction. It's not on the block chain so I tried to erase it, but the transaction just got deleted without returning me any coins. I've managed to restore that transaction and now everything is exactly how it was 8 hours ago. If the coins are not on the blockchain then you don't have the coins. Where did the coins come from?

I'm sorry i meant last transaction is not on the blockchain. The coins are of course there and they were successfully denominated a few times and then got stuck. https://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/address.dws?XeL9gTMFroz9hxQUWNkaKExY1q9rY2KCZr.htm

Why not darkcoin be accepted by the most person? Why the value of darkcoin is always lower than Litecoin, even Dogecoin? Have the team thought it over? Although the tech of darkcoin is so good currently but I think an excelent coin must be of accept for its applications, marketing, and so on...not only for its excelent tech, such as litecoin,dogecoin,blackcoin... I think the team of darkcoin must spend your time on marketing, and spread your applications. Otherwise the coin must be replaced by some new algo/new coin soon...the value will less and less even die...

I sent him a tip, but I'm not sure if he wants the address published... I'd put it up for others to send to, but maybe he doesn't want everyone to see it.
He's about to launch ads in Darkcointalk. I'm sure he would also appreciate if people here advertise there or send him leads. https://darkcointalk.org/threads/advertisments.2018/

I was in the process of verifying my backups for exactly this purpose, when I discovered that the ORIGINAL was defective from the get-go, and thus, all the backups were fuxored as well... If you make a copy of something that's busted, you have two busteds... Me finding out:

Just looked @ calendar and I`m surprised HOW MANY SHITCOINS are born every single day. The market is cleaning up and consolidating. I don't say there won't be more launchs, but I think they will be less frequent because people won't participate and the incentives will be lower to create a new coin.

Overall I think the launch went well. Most people have had their coins denominated and to date all major "DRK are gone" problems have been resolved. At this point there are 2 issues I see that need to be addressed.
1) Darksend rounds > 1 never finishes denomination for a number of users (myself included) 2) Handful of users aren't seeing their transactions confirmed and be included in the blockchain -- this results in the coins getting stuck.
I expect Evan to take care of these in the next day or two.
I'm going to be working on #2. Can people send me the TXID's that are unconfirmed, their debug.log and a screenshot of the transactions tab? evan@darkcoin.io

There is a post by camosoul explaining a few pages back.

About 1 though, is that not a real issue and just about MNs not being updated or what? In my case, I left my client for about 8 hours, got lots of denomination fees, but never saw more than 1 round in coin control. I wasn't the only one with the issue either...

If i understand correctly, after the coins in your wallet have been made anonymous, those coins are placed in lots of 'change' addresses. Does the resulting private key from the 'dumpprivkey <public address that is in your wallet>' command still contain _ALL_ your coins? (not literally but after importing it again ofcourse)
