Yeah baby found another one...  you're welcome p2pool people Tongue

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014

I just feel like we are in a hurry here.. we are implementing so many different changes with each update .. most of them are great and truly innovative but then comes something like this and it is bundled into a large update and we really don't have a say ... I like everything with Onyx except this multi thing... so I cant vote by not updating? ... I could be wrong here but I thought people could reject (by majority) any updates .. Is that only bitcoin?

Because you're concerned about nothing. IT DOESN'T CHANGE A GOD DAMN THING. It makes it easier for the end user to establish masternodes. If it was structurally changing masternodes, then yes, you would have a valid concern, but it doesn't.

Wait till he sees my 1-click Masternode installer. Since my 1-click updater did 90% of it anyway, I added the other 10%.  Grin

How will the trolls spin this, Darkoins network run by just a handful of people
The entire bitcoin hashrate is handled over 51% by less than 4 people. Sometimes only 2! Mining pool flaw. Initially, solo minig was all there was... Pools are a band-aid that have never been fixed.

DRK has 2 metrics, and both are much, much more distributed than bitcoin is.
I know that this is your christmas present and im sorry to take a dump on it..

I just dont think that it is worth it .. natural growth is much better than this.

We need allot of small operators ,, not a handful of Mega MN operators.
I simply don't see any truth to your argument.

Still you are not addressing the issue im trying to point out to you guys .. This is not a issue of convenience, it is a security issue.

How can you trust a network that is run mostly by a small number of people ? .. we need allot of small ops

Did anyone ask Atlas what he thought of this ?
or any security expert ... you guys must see this

Actually, it's already been posted how unlikely it is for an entity to follow the mixing of coins, even if a malicious entity owned 90% of the network.  (can anyone post link?)  So in actuality, if you fear there is a substantial risk of someone owning 90% of the network (pretty much impossible) then you can run your coins through 8 rounds.  In the end, the threat of a majority misbehaving masternode network is not the same as that of a 51% majority of hash power.  Not in the least.  So the threat, though we're used to seeing it in hash power, doesn't exist in the same way with masternodes.  And with up and coming ip obfuscation, it will be even more difficult to discover any information regarding account numbers.

Anyway, please don't forget that payment % is going to increase, so your payments are likely to remain close to being the same in the long haul and the grater number of MNs will in fact help distribute the network, especially for all the future projects that are being discussed at the moment.  We'll need those access points to handle data for all these services we're coming up with.  And these services will also garner more income to masternodes.

Here's an analogy: if Bob has ten separate outlook email accounts, and receives email at all the accounts, instead of individually logging into each account to check his mail, he just makes an inbox with all account inboxes together.

The only thing this does it make it easier to check his mail but he still has the ten separate email accounts. No more or less email is being checked compared to logging into each account individually. Same amount of email for the accounts, only easier to check.
Except nobody loves Bob and nobody ever sends him any emails no matter how many email accounts he has.

"Sutton is known, albeit apocryphally, for the urban legend that he said that he robbed banks 'because that's where the money is.'" - Wikipedia

Why are we making it easier for big wallets to run MNs? Because, duh, they already have the DRKs to do it, so, uh, do it. That's where the money is. Fix the problem that is keeping them out... No need to force more buys when the coin is already sitting there...

This move really puts a damper on the people who said it was just a pump attempt to strangle supply. I was concerned about it looking that way myself, and possibly choking off supply to the point that it would drown the coin for good in an already heavily attenuated market. Like it or not, cryptotards decide if this project lives or dies. Your future, in the hands of the lowest, dumbest trash that has ever lived...

How come no one realizes his concern is simply about the fear of someone holding, say, 40% of the MN network on his own?

We do, but it's no different than when masternodes as an idea came out back in April/May timeperiod. The top holders still had substantial amounts of coins. Bringing it up today like it magically became an issue overnight is absurd.

I agree, but just look at Camosoul for instance, HE said he would finally setup MNs thanks to the new system, and that he did not do it before because of the extra hassle. That might have triggered his reasoning.

So Icebucket is not COMPLETELY wrong either, is he?

I'm not concerned as he is about all this, I'm just a bit frustrated that so very few (only you and a couple others) understood his concerns over 2-3 thread pages

EDIT: And even if it's absurd to bring it now, no one answered why it's no big deal if someone owns, for instance, 45% of the MN network in the last pages. This would have solved any and all discussion.

Please see what I wrote above.  I'm quoting in case it helps get your attention

Finally, if anyone feels like they're not in the loop, and haven't had a chance to speak their mind, and yet never go to darkcointalk.org to follow the testing thread or any of the threads, then there really is nothing we can do to help.  You know where to go to put your 2 cents in if you like.  Not trying to be mean, but this is the jibber jabber / sometimes, very few times, the "to see what's up lately" thread.

stuff totally unrelated to what the person quoting it is about to say
I've been reading your and Tao's guides over and over again for days... I have not figured out even one damn thing for setting up a masternode. I cannot understand even one sentence from either of your guides, and I've been using Linux since before there was Gentoo...

I'm glad it helps some people get nodes up, but it hasn't spread any understanding, and I won't be running any MNs blindly without an explanation. I do not just follow steps. Ever. Period. Not a snowball's chance in hell.

Looking forward to 16.10.1 and a masternode.conf explanation...

Camo, it's not so hard. I've never used Linux before. I didn't understand even commands Wink but I have succeed to start my MNs with a WeirdDog's guide and WinSCP
