Another point I want to stress (which I've mentioned before): I'm getting anxious with the lack of a logo. The logos found in the OP here and on the NEM subreddit are different and below par (In my opinion; absolutely no offence to the creators. I couldn't do better!). It's hurting NEM's image. Either you or Utopian need to make a decision soon! NEM is now getting too large to have no brand associated with it.

Logo will be decided by the community !
I've also stressed that point a few times but I guess UP wants to wait a little to make sure all proposals make their way here

The idea is that we don't need to spam this thread over every individual issue, so please everyone,
visit the thread and take part at the discussion, let the designers know what you think.

There will be a vote set up as we get closer to the release, but for now it is a brainstorming thingie.

The one you see posted on the announcement and in this thread was one that was quickly picked as the proposal was forming.
The one at reddit is one of the later candidates. Both are temporary, and it can be found in the thread history(though i'm too lazy to do it).

If we can make NEM a powerful coin, those producers will be able to sell directly their products, without the necessity to use intermediates that speculate with the price. Even more, if we hink even beyond the cryptocurrency itself; those producers can start to manufacture their own chocolate, increasing the value and selling directly to retailers or even better, to consumers; using all the features of NEM coin.

First off, don;t feed the troll. He is our puppet. Get over it. And stop asking for ones' head, and not ruin your image at the same time.
Do you realise how it sounds? Think, before you type.

Second, everyone please:
Stop dividing yourselves and the community between false dilemmas. No coin is an enemy of an other.

Stating that *any* coin is an adversary to *any* other coin has the same sense as stating that one hammer is better than another hammer.
Get your heads together and accept a universal truth:

Tools do not have a character. It is the user that defines the tool.
Your coins are tools, and represent your wealth. Learn how to use the tool, before you lose your wealth.

That is exactly the problem, we're in need of a logo now, not in a few months time!

There is no problem. What we are in need of, is a decent development. On the software side.
When the devs will be ready, the logo will be too.
We do not need to hurry on anything. Everything has to follow the devs, so lets just keep our pants up.
And we surely do not want to sell something we don;t even have now, do we?

That stake will not be the only unclaimed stake.

There weill be a public auditing where big multi-accers get weedet out which means there will be stakes from those people.
After that, there will be hate and anger and people screaming unfair, scam and what not so maybe some will voluntarily ask for a refund which again would leave stakes unclaimed.

UP still wants to have 3k stakeholders so if we're way below that there may be a second round in which the rules would be tightened severly.

I guess we'll have to wait and see...

I really welcome this, although i do have one concern:

I introduced a Romanian friend to NXT who purchased (some) of my own stake (transferred to his own wallet) who later participated into NEM after i had got on board (both of our stakes have been authenticated)

On the surface, this would look like a sockpuppet account but it's really quite the contrary in reality; he's a real individual, of which i know if needed, could vouch for me here, or, if at UP's request, in other ways if necessary.

The concern i have is how do we ensure in circumstances like above, arn't wrongly accused?

to be honest, I am a bit surprised more stakeholders are not excited as I am and choose to remain silent .  With 3000 members I thought this place with be buzzing. UPs idea of selecting only active contributors for the next round is really important.  We need some new blood .

I was thinking the same, this place should be flooded with more people.

But on the bright side it is more active than most new coins, and I imagine there will be a huge up increase when Nem is nearing completion.

if we use the number of post of each id in this thread to compute the GINI coeffiecient, the current GINI coefficient is 0.677, while the dogecoin thread is 0.74, the nxt thread is 0.85.
the less the coeffiecient, the more activated of each id.

I think a lot of people will activate here when we get the coin is launched !

First of all only people with a lot of stakes are being targeted here. We're talking > 10 ro so.
Secondly timing of posts and transactions, wording of posts, everything is taken into account when identifying sockpuppets. I don't think we're goign to hit too many false positives.
Also it's a public auditing. Anyone that feels misstreated can come forward and say so.
