It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

No you pay to rent peoples MH/s which you can then point to a pool of your choosing for a period of 3 hours to 7 days.

I love the idea!
When I'm not in the mood to look for the most profitable coin to mine I usually just do Middlecoin, but now I'll use Middlecoin *and* Betarigs Cheesy
This improves my profitability without me having to do anything more.

The site itself is very good too, fast to use and clean interface.

@ mux and others:

what do you think about this idea:
there where suggestions about choosing the "order" in which rigs are sorted on the website. how about a few quick filters / groups on the first page?

what I mean is smth like this:

small rigs (< 900kH) | medium size rigs (900-2000kH) | large rigs (2000-4000kH) | moster rigs (>4000kH) (find what size you want)

10 cheapest rigs BTC/MH/h | 10 fastest fastest rigs | ten smallest priced rigs (BTC/day) |10 highest rated rigs | 10 most rented rigs | longest rent...
(create price competition)

3h lenders | 1d lenders | 1w lenders

all other kinds of groups that we can think of that make sense for a renter...

(these labels are just "out of my head" suggestions and might need a little refinement, maybe we could collect ideas here)

What do you think?

another idea.

when the renter is evaluating/rating a rig, he could also indicate his rating in relation to the rent before that.
that would allow some kind of "this rig/service/... is better than this" and would allow to differentiate better between rigs with the same performance/price.

also rating could be in categories:
stability
performance (vs. promised performance)
service / contact /communication...

Makes more haze than it does good in my eyes - you can just write that in the review...

other than that would be cool to have a "rig bundeling" option for more rigs to be rented together. i know i can just set 1 pool on 2 miners but thats not what i want Wink

Otherwise still working great for me

There is no possibility for the renter to specify backup pools?  Huh
That is really bad if so. Especially if the cgminer is so slow that it needs 5 mins to test before switching back.

If the person who rented my rig (1.4mh USEAST -- #874) could hit me up here, I'll make sure the issue gets resolved.  Unfortunatetly, I woke up about a minute too late to stop the shutdown and give you extra time.

edit: well, got 0/10 for that rent.  Guess I shouldn't be surprised since the fault was on my side and happened while I was asleep.  Still, I wish there was an easier way to get in touch with the customer before getting feedback-raped.  At least I should be able to reply to the negative feedback.

I'll be adding the possibility to contact the customer after the rental is done next week!
Next week, finally is coming and I'll be improving lots of stuff Smiley

Rig owners - please put information about your rig location (Europe, Asia, North America etc. or country). I only rent rigs that I know location. If I mine at European pool I want EU rig. If I mine at Canadian or US pool, I want a rig close to the pool. I skip rigs that I don't know location. Even if the price is competetive!

Put rig location within your rig name.

You probably don't understand how proxy works. Packets are traveling from rig to proxy and then to the pool then back to proxy and then back to the rig -> it doesn't matter where the pool is (or better said if rig and pool is in EU it is better because proxy is in EU :-) )

I probably DO understand how proxy works. But you are right - I forgot that for now betarigs.com has server(s) only in EU. But I hope this will change. But then it should be a default that EU rigs connect to EU betarigs server and so on. Thx for the remind.

But still it would be nice to know if the rig is in EU or not Wink

Posting this here because as yet still no response to my support ticket.

http://www.betarigs.com/rig/521

Renting for 24 hours. It's been going down repeatedly, and the hashrate has gone down to approx 400khash from the rated 2400khash it should be mining at in the brief moments it does come back online. I'm not best pleased as I can't even afford to lease another rig right now, and the window for mining this coin is narrow as it is. I am literally losing coins the longer this rig is malfunctioning.

Mining rig #521 still offline. What a joke. The website can't even correctly display that it's offline. It isn't mining at all. How it can say it's mining is beyond me.
