I do not know how that could be possible. Based on the following sell orders it should not have been more than 4999 sats. C-cex's volume has been on the low side. It is more likely to be artifically high or low. I still try to check it out a few times a day but not as often as I used to. Thanks for letting us know when you noticed anything out ot the ordinary.

DNotes price has been holding up very well, indicating a solid up trend. It will be nice if we can sign up a lot of CR.I.S.Ps. before another significant jump in price. The more happy stakeholders we have the more successful DNotes will be.

Just a reminder to everyone, there is a great forum at www.cryptomoms.com that would be a means of communication if bitcointalk goes down again. The only problem is, we need to start copying some of the conversation from here to cryptomoms, if it is to stay relevant. What do you guys think?

Absolutely. This may be a good source of reference in case it does:
http://www.data321.net/1w6xe_uqu__nw_2vu19_6w_frgimm_D3300

Also, I loosely save print version every so often:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=printpage;topic=470155.0

Very cool, thanks for the information.

Beyond that, I think it is a great idea to have some of this information over on the cryptomoms forum. Having a primary category dedicated to individual DNotes initiatives could make it easier to digest.

Is that kind of what you and Chase were thinking?

Sounds good.  Enough info to keep everyone in the loop, some of the ideas being considered, and a place to carry on discussions when Bitcointalk is down.

Probably need to repost about coming up with good names for Dyna internship again. I think some of it was lost during downtime. Also where do we stand with that? Are we still waiting for more suggestions?

I am very excited for CRISP retirement!

I am honored and have always enjoyed sharing my knowledge with others. TeeGee needs to decide who is the winner in a day or two.

We have a lot of reasons to be excited about CRISP for retirement. The potential in this segment alone could make DNotes hugely successful.

I think a couple of these posts were lost in the outage:

Mafort1469 said:
"Yes, good to see. Keep buying more here and there when I can."

Chase replied to frameLalife's comment "DNOTES price creeping back up again. Gotta love that penny mark."
with "We should see a lot of "up" this year!  Smiley"

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
mafort1469 said:
"Yes, I like the 3 feature requests. I would like to add a 4th and that being a beneficiary if something happens to original investor and length of time no activity in the vault before contact is made to beneficiary (sig. other, spouse, children, etc. might not know about investment).

PS. And a 5th for some standard growth charts (put in 100 Dnotes/month then ~worth in 10,20 years with ~value increases). Hmm difficult i know, but would add benefit/interest if people could actually see what they could have in 10,20 years.

PSS. I have numerous others coins, but liking DNotes so much now I just might convert what I have to attain 10%-20% in DNotes holdings. Keep up the good work everyone!!!"

Chase replied to that with: "I'm very impressed with your planning for the future, mafort1469!  I'm not sure what the rules are in the U.S., but in Canada an investment product has to be registered in order to designate a beneficiary.  You did bring up something that we should all keep in mind - estate planning for our DNotes!  Thank you."

TeeGee (me) replied to the same post with:
"Yes, your point about increasing DNotes holding is a familiar one. Last night my father in a sit down chat was asking me questions about crypto in general (he already holds a few DNotes) based on some article he read in the Economist magazine. He was talking / enquiring about market caps, speculative risk and DNotes strategy to rise to pre-eminence (stability model, focus on the functions of money and savings accounts rather than treating the coin as an appreciating commodity). It all finished with him saying he was going to start (possibly) regular investments into particularly DNotes - and my dad is nearly 58, only ~10 years from retirement. My wish would be for him to begin reading the forums so that he can acquire information on his own, because that is so much better to regularly read the opinions, ideas and strategies discussed to gain confidence than just asking somebody else to paraphrase the hundreds of pages of what they have read.

Maybe I'll ask him what he would like to see in CRISP for retirement as a feature.

It is welcome news to see both BTC and DNotes rising a little bit today for everybody (unless you planned on buying both today!) but the key point to take away will always be the ability for DNOTES to hold all the ground gained long term - an intrinsic feature seen in this coin thus far.

I've quite liked some of the suggestions for our little competition so far, particularly "DYNAmite Deal", "InternNotes", "it's CRISP" and I really enjoyed the latin rhyming in "Mentis Apprentice". I think it is only fair that DYNA choose himself from a list of favourites that Smokey and I choose (since we are ineligible and will judge fairly - I'll advertise to people that the competition is running and see what happens on Facebook). I'll lift my contribution to 3000 Notes, and extend it to run until at least a couple more forum lurkers come and say hello. Populux (who forgot to leave an e-mail / address) and Variant65 I have not seen before, so I know there are more of you are out there reading this!

Total prize is now 8000 Notes to the best literary genius / pun maker in the community. That is a very good beginning investment for anybody in crypto!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And with that, I'm going to bed to fight off this fever (probably sunstroke or something)!

Hope you feel better today. I suggest that the sponsors (TeeGee and Smokey) each pick two for the final four. I will pick the winner from there. Cut off for last submission is Monday Jan. 26, 2015 at 8:00 pm CST (Central Standard Time, Chicago) Winner will be announced within 24 hours.  The price will be sent ASAP but no later than 48 hours from the time of the announcement. Winner must post a DNotes deposit address. Failure to post a DNotes deposit address within 7 days after the announcement will constitute as "unclaimed prize", at which time, the runner-up will immediately be the winner to receive the prize.

Good luck.

USD Drops 12% Against Bitcoin: Is the Dollar Dying? (Op-Ed)

by Amanda B. Johnson @ 2015-01-24 10:04 AM

The Federal Reserve Note (FRN), also called the “U.S. dollar,” was dubbed the worst investment of the last century. As predicted, 2015 has seen the continued fall in value of the currency that was supposed to fuel an advanced economy. In the last 3 days alone, it has lost 12% in value against Bitcoin. Even more shocking is that in the last 100 years, a whopping 98 % of the FRN's purchasing power was lost.

Sad but, no surprise. Most fiat currencies throughout the world are in the same position. Crypto's time is/has come. Now it's up to us to see that the high ideals and independence of crypto isn't bastardized or locked out of the coming change in the the way we see and use money. This is a very delicate and important time in history. We need to remain vigilant and informed. We need to educate our lawmakers and loudly denounce changes that would strangle the coming monitary revolution.

Don't get me wrong here, I am not an anarchist and I fully believe in working within the system of laws that seperate us from the dictators and despots. What I'm saying is simply to keep up to date on developments in the sector, read and scrutinize every new, proposed law that deals with crypto and complain loudly when threatened but remain within the law in all circumstances.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, the article has an air of satire as well as doom and gloom but, there is some truth to the fall of the dollar. Fiat currencies in general cannot sustain themselves without constant pumping from the governments that support them. They are doomed to eventual failure.

I think, at this point in time, that would, as you said, be more confusing but, I can see a need for it in the future when we are getting 4, 5 or more times the traffic we have now. I believe in making it easy for newbies to pick up on whats happening and having one discussion group would help ensure they knew what DNotes was all about.

I went back and re-read the first few pages of this forum from the initial announcement to a few days past and I must say, you guys kept your cool better than any new coin I've seen here. I was almost comical reading some of the comments, some from Hero users, saying scam, crap junk, etc. They just didn't understand the concepts so they turned negative. But, there were true believers from the start and I'm willing to bet many of them, such as myself, are still here today.

Kind of like a large percentage of the real world which explains people's negative attitude towards Bitcoin. Same thing on a much larger scale. And following in that track, I believe this year will see a big ramp up in crypto use on all fronts especially with the coming bad news in the dollar markets that always seems to follow fiat.

It's going to be a great year for DNotes.

The DNotes board is perfect as is.  I agree that it could get confusing and we should keep it easy for our new DNotes holders.  I do have a question about it  - Are we using it just for updates, projects, Bitcointalk backup, etc, or can anyone posting on Bitcointalk, copy their post to CryptoMoms if they want?

This is my proposal for further discussion and comments and subject to change.

Innovative or visionary ideas sometime get ahead of regulations. CR.I.S.P. for retirement is quite definitely one of those ideas. At DNotes, we strongly believe that early participation using Digital Currency, such as DNotes, as a small percentage of the total asset allocation for retirement savings for potential high returns is a good investment strategy. This could be especially helpful for those who are behind in their investment goals for retirement.

CR.I.S.P. for Retirement should only be considered as a long term investment account of high risk nature and should not involve any larger amount than you can afford as a total loss. Currently, it is not a managed fund or qualified for tax deferred investment. It is an unstructured and self-directed savings plan, using DNotesVault serving as a secure web wallet for the storage of your savings. DNotesVault does not trade or exchange any currencies or digital properties.

To encourage long term savings for your retirement, the DNotes team has donated 1,000.000 DNotes to be paid as monthly bonus based on the following factors. To qualify account holder must select a minimum lock away period of five (5) years.

As Dyna mentioned, there are a few good posts on CryptoMoms related to CR.I.S.P. for retirement:

Feel free to start a thread there, and copy paste back and forth as you see fit. After using it today, it does seem to help keeping track of individual conversations.
