No that is what is happening there is at least two of them one 2.5mh/s and the other 1.2-3mh/s in size I have seen them join and leave many times in the past while, although usually a little later in the day. Most times it would be couple of hour from now then they leave after 6-8 hours so it may even be someone in large company getting the overnight action on normally down machines in a large business not actual botnets. Anyways in long run it is going to screw us as they keep upping the diff higher than it normally should be for the regular miner and getting the majority of the coins while doing it then they dump 30-40k in coins on the exchange at once when done with their mining crashing the price.

Yes unfortunately now I have heard the idea of licensed mining put out there before anyway to implement that after launch as I don't know about the rest of you but I am not interested in making some botnet bastards rich.
unfortunately botnets are a fact of life on the internet, if they arent mining coins they are sending spam or other malicious activities...
I think the distinction between "botnets" and "clusters" or "large legitimate cpu miners" needs to be made.
1)recently there was a 2.2Mhash/s miner on ozcoin, used the nick "temp", this miner more than tripled our hashrate at the time, obviously i was curious... I investigated and found the miner was the owner of a large IT company, his machines are under his control , he pays for power useage etc
other buisness i have had experience in BTC mining have service contracts with people that allow for after hours use of customers pcs-not something i would do, but hey ppl get cheaper support this way..
as opposed
2)botnet uses other peoples machines and their power without permission
and then
3)people at work or school running miners on pcs that arent theirs, pay no power - some are network admins doing this without employers permission
so now we talk about ppl getting income unfairly....
1) to me seems to be another miner like you and me, pays for his hardware and power, puts effort into mining
2)gets income unfairly
3)often get applauded in irc etc, but really are they better than 2)?
the challenges for poolops is identifying legitimate miners from others - this is not as easy as it may seem to some, especially on cpu coins. on gpu coin large cpu miners are obvious by their number of connections, here everyone is a cpu miner...
botnets use various strategies to avoid indentification not all come in as 1 user on 1ip or even put all thier power to one pool, i imagine some are solo mining still
ppl in category 3) are generally harder to identify - till they start bragging about it
so yer, i'm not interested in making ppl that steal computer cycles and electricity rich either... but reality is where money is involved (even at *coin small relative value) there will always be people trying to take unfair advantage
what are we the cLitecoin community going to do about it?
and dont forget disgruntled botnets can cause other issues ...:/
