This is much more effective than submitting photos of the documents and government ID's in which the ICOs really don't know if the submitted documents are all genuine or not because they only see the pictures of it in which everything can be edited now using photoshop.If the government will required this kind of KYC then the ICOs shall comply. |

I think that KYC would help protect the wallets. If it were possible to call and use your voice to dictate your ID data, it would have been more confident because nobody will be able to forget voice. It is very important to do this only through Skype.

I once had to undergo Skype video call after I uploaded my documents for KYC - the project needed additional verification of authenticity of investors. I answered several simple questions regarding my date of birth, age, place of residence and showed my passport. That was absolutely simple and took about 10 minutes. On the other hand, such a video KYC procedure needs additional efforts of the project's employees who will need to be paid for their time spent in front of the camera. So I'm not sure projects will widely accept this method of verification. |

This is a great idea but it means they have to store the video forever. Kyc is not only for immediate verification, it serves for long verification of your customer. I dont think video call kyc will be good for long time verification of customer but will be perfect for immediate verification. But note that it will cost a little more.

maybe but in the end we have to keep giving our data whether it uploads or displays when the video call takes place because in my opinion KYC verification is not only about faces but also something that can be stored and tracked

Well an ico did this, I don't really remember which one was it, but they were using a "kyc" company that checks IDs. They were telling us to show passport and first page etc. to see if it is legit. I don't think this is necessary. This is too over the top.

I am not in favor of KYC but if it is really necessary to claim our tokens and we have an option within this two , so I think vedio call is much better than submitting our documents to them and store it in their file . |

KYC verification using video call would have been a good idea but it's not doable because their are a lot challenges associated with it, it can be used for private sales investors to reach the team and discuss with them, but for crowd sales, it won't be possible.

I think video calling to verify identity is unlikely to be a reality, as most people who invest in cryptocurrencies are reluctant to reveal their identity. |

Used Civic a couple of times. Quite convenient way to verify I think. It's more strict and trustworthy and I understand why companies like it more than just photos with passport. But you should know English well to be able to understand what the checker wants from you  |
