I have been mining the living daylights out of this coin... I love the concept behind it! I also like the fact that it's not one of those coins where you sit there & mine all day & get table scraps or one that you mine for an hour & get thousands of them. This really is my favorite coin to mine... it actually has a purpose as well! I'd like to suggest this organization for the charity fund: http://www.maps.org/I plan on submitting a formal request on the website. I am working on a good write-up at the moment. If it gets nominated, I'll donate 10%. yeah man, I almost used nominated that, instead I put some johns hopkins psychedelic research thing for nomination. Keep on mining and securing the network

I have posted twice about new algorithm's that would better suit this coin but have not seen any updates about a potential change.

Nonetheless, it may not be energy-effecient but it def one of the better scrypt coins outs there.

At this point there is no reason to change the algo, ASIC scrypt miners are here and I find them to be very energy efficient, and I doubt they will produce as much heat as my GPU farm does now. By the time that the new miners are out in full our coin will be secured by its wonderful community as well as a bunch of ASIC scrypt miners.

Also less then 300 blocks till having. I think that 10-20% increase in price is a good indicator of what might happen after the halving. Also, I'd much rather see steady 10 percent increases then one 100 percent increases.

Nonetheless, it may not be energy-effecient but it def one of the better scrypt coins outs there. Really, you'd like to see it change? Mind me asking why. Well the question to change algos or not makes me ask myself 2 questions....1) Would the algo we change to be better for the overall long-term health/growth/sustainability of the coin...and 2) Would the algo we change to help create a larger community for emc2? It seems the answer to number 2, is def yes. That fan vote we had (not official, but still) about changing algo was pretty overwhelming that the community wanted a change. I have seen it expressed many times how this person or that person would be involved with einsteinium if we just had a different (more efficient/asic resistant) algo. I think this coin is run by one of the better coin teams/dev teams (i mean NPO is a pretty nice/big deal).....however, I think our community (i know we are young but still) is lacking. Changing algo to say X11 would bring in a whole group of new supporters. As for question number 1 however. I am not a technical guy that much, so idk, maybe X11 is flawed and isn't that great of an algo. But being asic-resistant would be very nice. I know we have time before the asics come out, but unless our community multiplies a few times by then (which indeed is possible) i think it might be tough to survive asics. Also, if crypt-coins ever go real mainstream, people are going to bitch left and right about being energy efficient, might as well change now. Idk I just think having an algo like X11 would really boost emc2 to be taken a lot more seriously, as well as seperate us from the endless scrypt shit clones. But again, idk if the algo is actually sustainable, i think i read that it has some flows...but idk about that stuff. Sticking with scrypt isnt all that bad, especially if we have hopefully built a decent sized community by the time they come out, but still, especially with summer and the heat coming soon, miners will probably want to be mining coins with algos like X11. And seeing how WC, that stupid coin, is/was being mined pretty heavily.....it just disappoints me that EMC2 isn't. So maybe a change in algo would entice miners to switch to us. However, tho switching to X11 might be good in the short term, is it good long-term? Would scrypt be better long term? Tho I think that scrypt will not be that good long term, just because it isn't as efficient as other algos, X11 still might not be the answer. who knows... Hey bud,You and I go back.. way back in the day so I'm going to speak bluntly here and only my beliefs, what I am about to say comes from me only and does not it anyway represent the team. I think the answer to question 2 is simple.. Changing to x11 to please the community and possibly gain a few more miners would be like putting a bandaid on a bullet wound. ASIC only helped bitcoin and I see it doing the same for scrypt coins. Lets be honest even with x11 and other algos GPU mining is a dying breed. Sure people will always mine a gpu coin but its not going to be leading the way with a secured network comparable to sha256 and scrypt. I believe that GPU mined coins in the next couple years would be like stacking Zimbabwe dollars. Useless! Please keep in mind I have been GPU mining for over 18 months, mostly LTC, but more recently Doge and obviously EMC2. I don't want to see GPU mining die but its the case.. My rigs make a tonne of noise ( I have 18 cards) cost me over $500 a month in power, take up all kinds of space and really looks ugly. ASIC's are clean, energy efficient miners and that's the way of the future for crypto. At least that's how I see it. I'm not a newbie to the game and I think my views are right on with other long time GPU miners who are down to earth and understand reality.

Yeah you make good points. The asics won't be released for a little while, so if we have a solid foundation by then, i think we should be good. It could actually help indeed. If they were released tmrw, tho, i'd be a bit worried. Like you said tho, asics are the future, they'll be made for most algos eventually anyway. I just hope we'll be a solid enough coin when they come out for scrypt so that they help us instead of hurting.
Regardless of changing, even with having scrypt I have always thought emc2 has serious potential. I think at some point einsteinium will be seen as being a big-time contender in the scrypt world.

To be honest, I wish they were here already. I know our team has some coming in and we'll have a fair amount of hashpower to secure the network. But yeah, I do think that EMC2 will grow into that crypto leader that we see it getting to.

I'm back mining there, tho can see no pay outs will happen, but blocks found, so not worried. Got my coins last night that I mined before. Congratulations EMC2 on holding steady in the trade frenzy last night, had a lot of fun and all my EMC2 is still with me and yet profits made. Good stuff
