Doni's run out was also a good decision. It was Nigel Llong who have him out, and IMO it was one of the best decisions in this edition of the IPL. From the side angle, when the bails were off no part of the bat was behind the white line.

Is it good decision? I don't think so based on the rules of cricket bails have to come out to gave someone as out but they are giving it when the liht comes out so which makes a frame of out bit earlier which will be enough for most of the time to go for wrong errors and also different angle shows not out on Dhoni's runout so benefit of doubt should go for batsmen as well.

Exactly. That was a controversial decision and anyone with a half decent brain can recognize that. This umpire was in the news for kicking a door down recently after a heated argument with Kohli recently as I stated earlier. Bad umpiring indeed.

No. When the bails glowed (which happens at the time of impact), Dhoni was short of the crease. The laws state that some part of the bat needs to be behind the line. In the first frame, when the light glowed (not clear whether the bails have moved or not), Dhoni's bat was short of the line. In the next frame, when the bails were clearly dislodged, the bat was on top of the line. But even at this point, no part of the bat was behind the line. If we interpolate the two frames, it is clear that Dhoni was well short.

By the way, since we will have a good pot (assuming one of the sponsor deal is final) how about we have some consolations prizes for the rounds? I am thinking to have something for the highest points earners from rounds. End of the season we will have top 3 point earning rounds and those round winners will have some prizes to in addition to the main prize. Of course in this case we will need a percentage cut down from the top three on the table.

So say for example, if we have x amount for each top round winner then Main prize pot will have:

Main prize pot = Prize pot - 3x - tx fees.

Those who will not make it to the top 3 in the leader board, they will always have chance to win something from a good round.

For rounds- consolation prize- this is amazing idea, but careful... We normally have 3-4 rounds for IPL or any tournament and sometimes more than 1 participants tops the Round points table. In that case we might end up with more than 3-4 winners for only "Rounds". So we have to take that into account as well.

I like this idea too. More players will be able to win in this way which is basically a win-win scenario for everyone which is why a cut out of the top 3 winnings shouldn't really be an issue as long as the cut itself isn't too big.
