After PSG was able to beat Bayern, I became sympathetic to the club! It's not for nothing that they played in last year's finals and managed to reach the semifinals this year... I will bet on the victory of PSG and I do not see a strong opponent in Man City...
And also in my opinion Real Madrid and Zidane deserve the championship! Grin

One thing is certain that PSG-City will be a very tough draw. As I said before, I see City being the favourite in this. But there is no big difference between both teams. Both of them are very strong and the number one contenders for the title. Whichever team advance, they will become the champions also I think.

I am sure that the latest failures of the team in The Premier League and yesterday's cup match against Chelsea are precisely the consequences of his experiments.
By 'latest failures', I presume you mean losses to Leeds united and in the Fa cup semi-final, imo, Guardiola's tinkering didn't have anything to do with those setbacks, the thing is, City were in all competitions (before they lost to Chelsea), so with a UCL QF second leg against Dortmund in sight, Pep had to rest important players for the match against Leeds, and thus they lost, as for the game against Chelsea few days back, he also had to make over 7 changes from the team that won Dortmund in mid-week; all of that is anything but Pep's fault, he's looking for a way to keep his very important players fit and still try to win all the games possible.

Having said that, it's going to be pretty straightforward against PSG, Pep has found his perfect team and strategy with City, the only bad side of the match from City's perspective is that Kevin De Bruyne could likely miss the game after he picked up an injury against Chelsea.

I fully agree.
When playing on all fronts, gradually you have to make choices, to manage the squad in the best way.
The focus is clearly on UCL and winning the domestic championship. The championship is well underway, just keep pace. Then UCL is to give everything.

If Kevin De Bruyne is a casualty for the PSG game, he will have to work with the team in another way.

Real Madrid played three tough matches in a row with the same squad. Manchester City could also play the main players. If only with Chelsea they could put the best and not change. At stake was reaching the cup final. I think it would not be necessary to save the players in that case. All the more so if the opponent is Chelsea. And why take care of the players if they advanced to the next round in the Champions League and in the championship there is a 10-point lead from the second place.

Welp, this year's CL may be cut short.  Cry

https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-fc-manchester-city-real-madrid-champions-league-european-super-league-b930535.html

Basically UEFA went apeshit and is threatening to permanently ban Chelsea, Man City and Real from UEFA competitions for forming a "European Super League".

And this competition won't be fun if PSG automatically wins.  Undecided

heh! the only way PSG could ever win a CL is if no one's else is competing for it lol jokes aside, CL won't be fun either with UEFA's new format:

"UEFA confirm bold plans to revamp the Champions League from the 2024-25 season with NO group stage, an increase to 36 teams and 100 EXTRA games"

Aleksander Ceferin went crazy!?
I've been reading this notice quoted and others, his desire is to prevent his players from playing even in the world cup.

Have you ever thought about a world cup without Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kevin De Bruyne, Gabriel Jesus, Alisson, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané and Luis Suárez, and several other players of that level? An absurd !!!!

But honestly, this Super League is a stupidity that has the sole purpose of filling your own pockets, or does anyone disagree?

What a pain these UEFA heads and competing teams are. They could have done this after the finals.

Cutting it short and declare PSG as the winner by default is not a good idea and I don't think they will do that. Maybe UEFA will arrange a special competition for the quarter-finalists to replace the banned teams.

One thing is certain that PSG-City will be a very tough draw. As I said before, I see City being the favourite in this. But there is no big difference between both teams. Both of them are very strong and the number one contenders for the title. Whichever team advance, they will become the champions also I think.

This is the second squad full of star players, and the semifinal match between PSG vs Man City is worth the wait and will be a very interesting match, especially since Guardiola and Man City are reportedly on fire.
and in the Champions League this season, Man City have never fallen or been beaten with a record of 9 wins and 1 draw in 10 games, and even though I side with Man City in the semifinals later. But PSG is not an easy opponent for Man City and is likely to end in a draw in the first leg.

This statement from Ceferin is totally understandable. They how to protect UEFA somehow and strict decisions will be needed.
But Real president Perez said that if players will be banned from playing in World Cup, they will make their own World Cup.
But I think it's possible that World Cup will turn into similar joke like Olympic football tournament.

Welp, this year's CL may be cut short.  Cry

https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-fc-manchester-city-real-madrid-champions-league-european-super-league-b930535.html

Basically UEFA went apeshit and is threatening to permanently ban Chelsea, Man City and Real from UEFA competitions for forming a "European Super League".

And this competition won't be fun if PSG automatically wins.  Undecided

But this is the fault of FIFA and UEFA. This idea of a super league has been talked about for a long time, and UEFA does nothing to change things.

It is only a pity that for smaller countries or clubs with less financial power, they are unable to "escape" from UEFA.
Of course, initially it will not be well accepted.
But at the end of the day, the football market is evolving to different levels, which cannot be the same as it was 50 years ago.

The most certain thing is that in a short time, the national championships become a kind of second competition for many clubs, in many countries.

This whole European super League is utter crap of the worst sort!
They will end up playing in their golden league while the rest of the world will keep on playing for peanuts. This is basically the same as cornering the market or maintaining a huge monopoly over the only revenue streams that give blood to football teams.
This is all very sad.

Real Madrid players and supporters would be in for a very huge suprise if they strongly believe that they would blow the Chelsea side away. Tuchel has added a strong defensive mentality to the Chelsea team and with fast and high quality players they possess, Chelsea may just nick it against Real Madrid. In the second leg of their Quarter-Final game, Liverpool really ran circles around Real Madrid but couldn't capitalize and I'm sure Chelsea would look to apply the same pressure with a little more efficiency in front of goal. Tuchel would probably use the 3 CBs system and try to overload the midfield, reducing the power that Kross and Modric would have on the tie and ask Vinicius Jr. and Asensio to really show their resilience and commitment as they would have to attack and keep an eye on the Chelsea full-back. It would surely be a difficult game to predict but if Chelsea can keep their head and their shape over the two legs, they may be able to book a ticket to their first Champions league final since 2012

The whole purpose of the super league is to give the founding clubs more pocket money. Even JPMorgan is bankrolling 5billion GBP total into the teams.

Apparently all this was done without consulting the coaches and players first, and now they're the ones who are getting the flak from fans Sad

And to be honest, what kind of Super league has Arsenal playing while finishing mid-table?  Huh

But Real president Perez said that if players will be banned from playing in World Cup, they will make their own World Cup.

LOL!!  Grin Then it would be a World Cup just for La Liga teams.

WTF Chelsea, Manchester City, and Real City could be banned as soon as the very next Friday!! I thought UEFA would allow them to finish the current championship but officials seem to be really angry and determined to be the most brutal and violent they could be to punish the renegades. That sounds crazy and not fully legal in my opinion. And above all counterproductive because I don't know how those clubs could be able to forgive such a punishment, they would certainly definitely leave UEFA after that.

Uefa executive committee member Jesper Moller says three of the remaining four semi-finalists will likely be banned at Friday’s meeting.

"The clubs must go, and I expect that to happen on Friday. Then we have to find out how to finish (this season's) Champions League tournament," said Moller, who is the head of the Danish FA, told broadcaster DR on Monday.

"There is an extraordinary executive committee meeting on Friday.”

This season, Tuchel's team is a much composed team compared to Klopp's men that have come under heavy criticism due to poor and lackluster performances. Real Madrid too isn't the team they were years ago so I don't expect them to easily defeat Chelsea. Also worth noting that Tuchel is working round the club to ensure that he wins his first title as a Chelsea manager. We would see stiff competition but that's if the fixture is allowed to hold now that Super league project is becoming a reality.

This cannot really happen!
If, by chance, UEFA / FIFA moves forward with that decision, those affected clubs, players and selections will go to court with an action against UEFA / FIFA and with the European body for freedom of competition.

Basically, what is happening here is the creation of a league competing with UEFA, and legally this is not prohibited.
It may not be morally acceptable, but it is something that can be legal. So, I have serious doubts that they really do that kind of punishment.

I believe more than saying that they are going to be banned, it is more a strategy to try to demotivate, than something that will really happen.
UEFA lost more in banning than having a competing league.

I agree with you. Is there a law that prohibits the creation of a league not under the auspices of Uefa? I don't think that any league will remove the teams from the list. Yes, and this Champions League will be played as it should. All threats will remain just threats. But Perez made a big mistake by not agreeing with Uefa. All the same, there will be some sanctions against the clubs in the Super League.

I think there is no way that they will do such thing this season for the teams which have joined the European Super League. It doesn't make sense in any way. It wouldn't be fair for PSG to win the title automatically. I understand UEFA's frustration about this news. But they shouldn't act in anger now.
