Benzema has always been a good player, and it is true that the departure of Christiano Ronaldo put more of the spotlight on him. I think the responsibility and the space he had to fill when Ronaldo left the club has triggered this new phenomenal form that he is experiencing.

In their return leg game against Chelsea, where Chelsea will be visiting...It will be a tough game judging from the performance that Chelsea had this weekend in the EPL against Southampton, beating them by six goals and conceeding none. This shows real intention for me, and an ability to say that they can score many goals against Real Madrid to move further regardless of them already being disadvantaged by aggregates. On the other hand, Real Madrid have a good home record this season, Benzema on top form and good aggregates getting into the game. It will be interesting to see what the blues can do.

Most people would say that Manchester City are still the favourite side to advance despite winning the first game by only 1-0. And I think so too to be honest. But Atletico Madrid are still a very experienced team in this kind of circumstances. They know how to wear their opponent out. The only disadvantage for them now is being 1-0 behind on aggregate. They would take bigger risks to get ahead first I assume. Or maybe they will try to wear them out first and strike when they don't expect.

Something is going on In Bayern Munich. Perhaps the players are facing too much fatigue and have very low moral. They did struggle against Augsburg FC earlier on today, with Robert Lewandowski finally making a break through via an 82nd Minute spot kick. Without the penalty, Bayern were going to lose more points.
I believe Villarreal stands a chance and if Bayern Munich underestimate them, they will be surprised by the outcomes.

I think Villarreal is underestimated probably because they were playing the ever impressive Bayern Munich who before this game have scored in every game they've played in the champion's league this season. I think Bayern have all it takes to turn the tie to their favor in the second leg; they are used to these scenarios and moreso, they are clearly more experienced and technical than Villarreal but they might still be frustrated by this Spanish team though.

If we look at the starting eleven that Emery played against Bilbao, Emery clearly prioritizes the second leg against Bayern. Finally Emery had to
be willing to let Villarreal drop points against Bilbao in La Liga, hopefully Villarreal can give a surprise in the second leg against Bayern.
But my prediction is Bayern will show Villarreal that they deserve more to qualify for the next round. Moreover, Bayern playing at the Allianz Arena

It's not what Atletico Madrid want. They had hoped to keep the 0 in Manchester and then maybe end up with a 0-0. Now they have to make the game at home. I can't imagine them playing as conservative and defensive as they did in Manchester. They could play that game in the first half and then see if it will cost City a lot of strength in that first half. then you could consider playing on the attack in the 2nd half if the score is 0-0. Atletico don't really have a choice either, they have to win with 2 goals, so they will have to play offensively.

If I may asked, what was the strategy they used, Real Madrid didn't play that good like in other champions league game that they have won. It was just a bad day for the Chelsea players as they weren't doing it right as they usually do. Look at the last goal, Rudiger could have easily cleared that ball out but no he decided to go for power and the ball fell in the path of benzema and been a man on form, you don't expect him to miss that.

It would be difficult for Chelsea to get their comeback and progress to the semi finals. Assuming the game ended at 2-1 then their would had been more hopes but currently (even the coach) doesn't believe the boys can upset Real Madrid at home to progress.

It doesn't look good, to be honest. But Chelsea certainly cannot lose hope because it doesn't matter how wide the margin is or how impossible it looks, I think they always have a chance if they can play at their level best. But it really doesn't look good because the match is going to be played in Santiago Bernabéu in the second leg and ideally don't expect Real Madrid to lose in their home ground.
