Only one day left for the first two games in this round. Benfica - Liverpool game is very easy to predict of course. Liverpool would focus on this game completely and destroy Benfica to have a good advantage. I don't think that they can resist Liverpool like they did against Ajax here. And the other game is going to be even more interesting. Manchester City are the favourite side incredibly highly now according to bookmakers. Their odd is 1.30 while Atletico's is 11.00. This is a really humiliating odd for Atletico but it is the facts I'm afraid. Manchester City would win here.
For me both matches have a clear favorite i have to say, at least on paper. Of course the favorite of the Liverpool - Benfica matchup is even more clear. Here i think Liverpool will go through to the next round with at least a 95% certainty. The differences in the quality of the squad of both teams are just to big in my opinion. If Benfica shows a great performance and has some luck on their side then of course a close win or even a draw in one leg is definitely possible but over two games i think Liverpool is just to strong, because they are in a great shape at the moment and have won all of their last games in the premier League too. |

i'm getting Atletico v Liverpool (2019) and Bayern v Atletico (2016) vibes from this City-Madrid clash tomorrow, Atletico getting a lot of disrespect, but then they go and prove the naysayers that anything can happen in football. +1.5 and ahc +1.75 looking super tasty
Yeah! I still feel Simeone will never truly be a great if he doesn't change, but he actually tried to (and won La Liga), but realises now he doesn't have the reserves to sustain it. Suarez will be fired up like no other. Felix always looks like he fancies a pop. Pep promises he'll be creative again. Should be a blast. Liverpool, of course, have a job to do first! And it's crazy but I'm actually thinking to watch the City game at least for the latter half. Is that sacrilege? I second this, Athletico should make it to the next round.
I have fancied how they played, got to watch their game during the weekend .
Luis Suarez and Joao Felix were all goal scorers in the game.
I can still recall how Suarez scored Manchester City severally during he's days at Liverpool.
Suarez and Raheem Sterling did hurt them then!!
Some of my most painful memories, tbh. Suarez not so much, I loved him but knew he was destined elsewhere, and the club paid not a small price to defend him (but no regrets). Sterling left me dumbfounded. Followed him all through the academy, would tell my friends he was approaching senior level and to watch out for him. Then he went done what he did and I never forgave him (not for what he did but how). All good though, I'm over it, and they paved the way for Kloppomania. |

Today's match is one of the matches in the premier league that I have always looked forward to with much excitement, as the game is between Liverpool vs Benfica one may be tempted to underrate Benfica but since their home, that advantage will be there for the club but Liverpool will try their extra best to win the match but it will be a slime chance winning. The strong clubs in Europe are from EPL, La Liga, Seria A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1, others clubs from different leagues can be strong in their league but not strong in Champions League. Benfica can try all his best today, but I know Benfica's team know already that they have lost today to Liverpool. Liverpool is going to crush Benfica as I have watched both teams how they play in their domestic leagues and Liverpool is at another planet compared to Benfica in terms of quality.Benfica is used to come such far only in Europa League most of the time but in Champions League rarely they have been playing quarter finals,it is since 2015/16 season that they don't.
Benfica is very lucky to have reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Now their opponent is strong Liverpool. Since today's match is Benfica's home match, Benfica's players will be more confident. Liverpool must play carefully. Any team at home can be devastating. However, Liverpool's squad players are experienced. They don't seem to be giving Benfica a chance today. Liverpool will be a real test for benfica in the champions league after their journey from the group stage to the quarter-finals is relatively easier than other teams, benfica confidence certainly increases when they play at home but if we look at the quality of the current Liverpool squad of course they will not be too affected when playing home or away, indeed Benfica this season looks quite strong in the league and European competition but I think they will not be comparable to the quality that Liverpool currently have. |

Liverpool is quite different from other big England clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City and Arsenal. Liverpool doesn't go to any match with a second energy or a bad energy. All I have to say is that Benfica are actually unlucky for the fixture. Benfica have shown themselves to be a dark horse this Champions League season. The head-to-head meetings between Liverpool and Benfica have ended in 6 Liverpool wins and 4 Benfica wins. What is surprising is that out of all 10 matches there has never been a draw. Liverpool as well as Manchester City are now very strong opponents! I wonder if Benfica will be able to face Liverpool today?

I have no interest in Liverpool vs Benfica. Because the match is more likely to be one-sided. I look forward to the match between Manchester City and Atletico Madrid. Although on paper Manchester City are favorite. But Atletico Madrid is not a weak team. They have the ability to win against Manchester. This is City's home match, they will probably play carefully. However, it will not be easy to get 3 points against Atletico Madrid. Looking forward to enjoying a competitive match.
