You are right because after all Liverpool are much stronger than Benfica. But it looks like your prediction is wrong now, Benfica scored and the provisional score is 1-2.  

Yes, it seems that my prediction was wrong. However, the goal from Benfica should not have happened if Konate had not made a mistake (if he doesn't rush in intercepting the ball then Liverpool won't concede). After that one goal, Benfica's performance has improved, it looks like they got the additional motivation.

I think we all are expecting Liverpool to you win against Benfica and obviously, it is expected to be a one-sided match. Liverpool should be the winners. But still, I think it is worth watching.

The match of Manchester City vs Atletico Madrid is going to be interesting because obviously, Manchester City looks really strong on paper. But I think Atletico Madrid is capable of showing surprises. I think  Manchester City is going to go for a win in this match. Might also see some aggressive play from them.

Atletico Madrid is a very difficult team to play against for sure but, its rather not thought of for Manchester City not to win this first encounter or at least a goalless draw from the game. I kind of expected a goal as they have it now but, couldn't guess on when. Atletico is always rather defensive and you can tell that the Manchester City 1:0 Atletico Madrid result is typical of them. Even for a scoring team like Manchester City after playing all they could, making the most possessions.

Benfica 1:2 Liverpool game is supposed to be an easy win and qualifier for Liverpool.  In fact, to have even seen Benfica score score goal was something I hadn't hoped for although, possibly with a retaliation to a 2 goals aggregate. City 1:0 Atletico. What a one-sided game. City dominated against well parked Atletico bus. We saw typical Atletico tonight, they didn't even tried to play, I barely can remember their dangerous attack. Seems that they tried to play for 0:0. Minimal loss for them isn't something terrible, while for City even minimal win at home was needed.
Benfica 1:3 Liverpool. I regret that I picked City game to watch, this one seems to be more entertaining. LFC were much better, but I disappointed that they scored 3rd goal. 1:2 score would give us more interesting 2nd leg, while now LFC have confident lead.

I'm betting on Manchester city on this match, i don't think that atletico madrid will hold till 90' before they receive a goal, they kept defending most of the time and that's not a good sign for them, i hope I'm true on this. Diaz's late goal may have secured Liverpool's ticket for the next round. I don't really see Benfica coming back and winning by two or three goals margin in the second leg. Not to mention they will play at Anfield. LFC still has work to do finish the job of course but probably not as hard as Man City with their one goal advantage over Atleticp Madrid.

Liverpool had a very comfortable game against Benfica just as I expected. Benfica actually had a good start to the second half and brought the score to 1-2. But Liverpool still weren't in a rush after that and maintained their usual performance. And they hit their opponent hard by scoring another goal and winning by 3-1. But the most interesting game of the night was Manchester City - Atletico Madrid of course. Because I was expecting to see Manchester City winning this game by at least two goals. The success of the English league team makes me sure that one of them will definitely reach the final, the first leg match had already guessed how this match would be won and Liverpool were a little safer with a score of 3-1 I don't think it was wasted at Anfield. this is definitely another win.
