I have no doubt Liverpool qualified for the semi-finals of the Champions League after they got the draw against Benfica, it was an easy team for Liverpool to beat today. The first half, Liverpool ended it with a 2 away goal advantage.

In another match, Atletico Madrid's defense was very good and very tight so there weren't many chances for Manchester City to create in the first half. I didn't see any Manchester City players shooting on target throughout the first half and this was predictable considering Atletico Madrid are very focused on defence. After the break, Manchester City had to make some changes to score goals because so far the game was a bit boring to watch. Simeone's total defensive strategy was not very interesting as they only got the ball from the mistakes of Manchester City players and launched a counter-attack. It's a difficult game because Atletico Madrid are very afraid to play open.

I can confirm to you that as we wait for the break to be over, Benfica has no single chance again. No chance for them because Liverpool is going to score atleat 1 more goal which will make it impossible for Benfica to make a come back either this night or during the second leg. No emotions and no surprises, it goes as predicted. No one will gamble that Benfica will win or qualify ahead Liverpool unless someone, unless an unrepentant optimist.

The match between Manchester City and Atletico Madrid is a big match today, but I personally see that the match between Benfica and Liverpool tends to be more exciting, even though Liverpool have a 2 goal lead, but in that match it was seen that Benfica also put up resistance against Liverpool and often reciprocated the attack between the two teams, unlike the Manchester vs Atlético match in the first round, where Manchester City was more dominant in controlling the game, while Atlético only survived completely without any dangerous attacks for Manchester City.

You are right because after all Liverpool are much stronger than Benfica. But it looks like your prediction is wrong now, Benfica scored and the provisional score is 1-2.

I don't like Simeone's strategy, it's too boring in big games like the Champions League quarter-finals. I hope Manchester City can score goals and force Atlético Madrid's players to make mistakes in defence.

I'm betting on Manchester city on this match, i don't think that atletico madrid will hold till 90' before they receive a goal, they kept defending most of the time and that's not a good sign for them, i hope I'm true on this. I already said it that Simeone has a plan for this match. The man is a strategic man. Imagine what simeone is doing in this beautiful match. He doesn't care about anything else apart from to defend. And looking for a means of counter attack. He is making the match boring though. Talking about shooting from outside 18 box, it is only Kelvin that can do so, but he has been locked out of doing so. The only option for Guardiola is to introduce Grealish to replace Sterling. Mahrez has be has been doing all the work.

70 minutes passed finally there was an opening goal there. Kevin De Bruyne managed to take advantage of City's opportunity and convert it into a goal.
The match was quite monotonous indeed even though City continued to attack but there were only a few good chances for them but with this result now of course City don't need to worry anymore they are now very well ahead with this goal

this has been a very fun game to watch, particularly as a liverpool fan i'm rooting for liverpool to win this game, but i have to say that you can't underestimate benfica, they have great ability to score goals, but they just have great difficulties in defence, if liverpool wants to win this game they need to focus on defense and not be risking too much in attack and forget about defense because if they all go on the attack benfica can take the opportunity to counterattack and can score a goal to draw something that would not be good at that moment for liverpool.
