That I can agree with you. Plus, they don't have a good outside shooters who are consistent enough to give some threat to their opponenet. Paul was the one known to be a good 3 point shooter but he wasn't playing well in the Finals so far, probably due to the defense being put into him.

Magnolia's chance of winning is if they are making shots when attacking the paint and those mid range shot, but thus far it's not getting a positive result as SMB have a healthy JMF who makes the paint hard for the Magnolia. Also, SMB's import with so much confidence shooting 3's, that could break the hope of Magnolia if he keeps going. Key here IMO, is stop the outside shooting of SMB and take the game inside.

If I remember it right, SMC's big boss once said in an interview that he liked Abueva, and he wanted him to have a secure place in his company, Abueva should look in the mirror and try to re-assess what happened.

Like what you mentioned, he needs to show that respect if he wants it back. Committing that same mistake might trigger something bad to happen in his career. He needs to remember that he's not getting any younger and missing this great opportunity just because of something that he already knew the consequences would hurt him really badly.

Maybe Calvin will be suspended for one game? The league has to make an action about this, they can't tolorate this kind of act, disrespecting a coach and mocking his disability, this is not acceptable. Not only that, he also have some altercation with wife of Mo, so I can already sense who has a problem here. It's still too early to conclude. There are teams in the past that have come back from 0-2 deficit, and Magnolia is capable of doing that since they finish as the number 1 this conference. Game 3 is probably the deciding factor on the future of Magnolia in the Finals, if they loss it could be the end of the series since no one has ever came back at that deficit.

Magnolia needs to play their 2nd unit with more minutes, they can't defend on the same line up that can't compete against the SMB. Experiment, and give other players a chance to play and be more confident. Laput should have earn more minutes, although he can't totally stop Fajardo but he got lenght to bother him.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial says the league will review videos and talk to witnesses who were there when Calvin Abueva and the wife of Mo Tautuaa figured in a shouting match

MANILA, Philippines – The PBA wants to uncover the truth about what really transpired in the post-game spat involving Calvin Abueva, Mo Tautuaa, and their wives on Sunday, February 4, that marred the Commissioner’s Cup finals.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial on Monday, February 5, said the league will review videos and talk to witnesses who were there when Abueva and Tautuaa’s wife Aida figured in a shouting match at a hallway near the exit of the Mall of Asia Arena.

Marcial added he will also summon Abueva and Tautuaa.

“We’ll look at the videos and talk to people who witnessed the incident,” said Marcial in Filipino. “I’ll meet with my technical group and I need to talk to the two players.”

PBA needs exposure I guess as interest between sister campany don't earn attention for most fans, not Ginebra so lesser fans I guess that watching the game, so Abueva is here to save PBA ass.. That's just fair I think. Well, we have different opinion but what the league has decided is already final, we have to respect it. Maybe they give Magnolia a chance too because losing Calvin is not gonna help Magnolia, he was one of the players that are bringing some energy on the floor, his hassle is very useful especially if it's a close game (which they haven't achieve yet).

This penalty is necessary but I'm not sure if Calvin will learn his lessons from this. Php 100k is big but for them making more than 100k per month ( I believe) is just not a big loss.

Well, so far it's a different story as Magnolia were able to lead in the game. They are leading by 5 points int he first quarter, a good start for them as they need to start strong since they had a hard time catching up with SMB when they are down. Although this is still too early but we know Magnolia is also capable, however, I still think that SMB will be taking a 3-0 after tonight.

First quarter is not enough for Magnolia to win, they need to be consistent from first to the last quarter.
