The verdict that we all have been waiting for is coming up next week. Verdict on Justin Brownlee positive test expected to come out by next weekAnd it has also been confirm that Tony Bishop would be the import, however, this next article maybe is quite related on why he is only an "interim import", probably Ginebra are still optimistic that Brownlee would be able to play. Cone confirms Ginebra bringing in Tony Bishop as interim importGinebra head coach Tim Cone confirmed their newest reinforcement on Friday evening in an interview with CNN Philippines, saying the former Meralco import will play for the Gin Kings while they await the fate of Justin Brownlee over his flunked drug test at the last Asian Games.
I think all of the imports are probably just interim imports because no import can truly guarantee they'll finish the conference. As we've seen in the past, when a team doesn't meet the expectations for their import player, they can change the import even if the conference is short. That's the nature of imports, and they themselves are aware of it. So, regarding Tony Bishop, in order for him to stay longer, especially if Brownlee might still be suspended (though such a suspension may be reduced), Tony has to ensure he lives up to Tim Cone's expectations. We all know Tim Cone has high standards, especially since Ginebra is a crowd favorite. He aims to win most, if not all the time.

I don't think he was replaced during his time with the Meralco Bolts, so I'm expecting that he'll be able to finish the conference in case Brownlee can't play due to suspension. Coach Tim knows the caliber of his import; that's why he hired him. With the Ginebra team, discipline is highly valued. Even if a player is an import and not producing, Coach Tim Cone could sit him out and opt for an All-Filipino lineup. And let's not forget, Maverick Ahanmisi is already with Ginebra, and this guy plays good basketball as well. https://www.rappler.com/sports/pba/maverick-ahanmisi-joins-barangay-ginebra-september-2023/

Anyways as we all know that brownlee has a big chance for his suspension but coach Tim will make a way he already knew who are the player he need inorder to compete other team in PBA. which is pretty good enough If his players are fully conditioned or else complete.

The good side is that he's from a defensive powerhouse, the Meralco Bolts, and we all know Coach Tim values solid defense due to the discipline it shows. I've got a feeling that the new import will slot in nicely, though, no promises, of course.

It appears that Ginebra keeps adding great players, and I'm sure Maverick Ahanmisi now has a chance to claim his first championship with the team. I find Maverick Ahanmisi to be a good replacement for Pringle, especially since the latter is getting older and Ginebra could use a younger version of him.

I don't consider Maverick Ahanmisi as a replacement for Pringle's position since Ginebra still has Scottie Thompson and Nards Pinto. Instead, I consider him a good replacement for Jeremiah Gray who is currently injured and there's no ETA when he will fully recover. I don't think Coach Tim will assign Ahanmisi the same as what he used to play on the Converge. My worries too that Ahanmisi won't get enough playing time in Ginebra knowing Coach Tim's usual way and the fact that Ginebra has several players having the same position as Ahanmisi. If Ahanmisi is assigned as PG or SG, still be limited playing time as there is Nards Pinto who was able to lead Ginebra and showed good performance during the PBA On-Tour where most of Ginebra's key players were out. He might be the next in line for Coach Tim to be one of the future regular starters for the team. This is just my speculation though.

Too early though but we don't know what The Brgy have to offer this upcoming season.

This is the advantage once you already know your players and you have the system now for many years already. I’m also confident that Ginebra will still be the contender here for the title and this is the best time now for them to go deeper with their bench players and prove that they are not too dependent to JBL.

No doubt, the roster of theirs is already strong and addition of Tony Bishop can make it stronger. The coaching staff has their own basis for choosing him and just as how they've chosen Brownlee, they have also applied that this time because all they want is to have the championship which is usually their goal. Too early though but we don't know what The Brgy have to offer this upcoming season.
Just like everyone else, we've got huge expectations on them even without Brownlee.

I believe Ginebra had tried numerous imports before Justin arrived, but it's Justin who truly seems to be the perfect fit for the team. He has a genuine affection for the Philippines, which is why he applied to become a naturalized player. There's no one quite like Justin on the team, and that's why there's immense pressure on Bishop. Without a doubt, all eyes are on him. Too early though but we don't know what The Brgy have to offer this upcoming season.
Just like everyone else, we've got huge expectations on them even without Brownlee. The PBA is set to commence this Sunday, but Ginebra's first game won't be until November 17. The team will have plenty of time to rest and prepare. In the opening matches, we'll witness an intriguing matchup between Magnolia and TNT.

Just like everyone else, we've got huge expectations on them even without Brownlee. Yeah right, it's Ginebra. What do we expect from the crowd's favorite right? Though squad wise they are still in good position, we can say that the quad still have competitive stars and role players to help in winning each game, and with the way coach Tim handled his players, we know that there are always secret picks or unexpected rotations that will give more additional entertainment to all the fans. Almost game time, let's see how they will play this upcoming season, SMB fan here, but Ginebra is Ginebra...

He hasn't secured a conference best player award recently, which is different from the past when he consistently dominated. While he's not getting any younger, Fajardo, when in good health, remains an unstoppable one in the paint. In the past, there was another 7-footer who could challenge him, but I've forgotten his name; I believe he's currently playing overseas.

I think the player you mean was Greg Slaughter and yeah he is playing overseas now, currently, he is playing in Japan. Injuries are the main reasons why Fajardo wasn't in his MVP form these last few years but based on his performance in FIBA and ASIAN games i think he will dominate again and capture some awards but not to the point that he will get the MVP award this year because as strong as he is but teams are now having some strategies to stop him or exploit his weakness on the defensive end.

What we have witness last FIBA games was the JMF that we used to see way back, if he will play that way and his teammates will be as furious as they can, I'm for sure that SMB will be again be back to the championship contender team, they've been away for some time but seeing the whole squad now, I like to see how they will going to end this new upcoming season. With the healthy squad, SMB will continue to be one of the team that will dominate, though still depends on how coach and the players will find the chemistry and the right blending of players inside the court.

It might be time for Fajardo to reclaim his status as the Kraken.

The coaching job holds immense importance, especially considering Coach Galent hasn't clinched a championship with SMB so far. The roster's capabilities are no longer in doubt; what we're eager to witness is how the coaching crew will unleash Fajardo's potential in the upcoming season. Just three days and 14 hours to go, and we'll get to see the opening game. I'm excited about Romeo's return, the fit and nimble Romeo with his signature unpredictable moves. I'm pretty convinced SMB really needs him for a shot at another championship.

I almost forgot that Terrence Romeo is healthy and fit to play for the Beermen once again, i just hope that this time coach Galent will give him ample playing time to get back his confidence on playing competitive basketball. TR7, CJ Perez and Junemar Fajardo are enough for me to help the import of SMB to clinch this conference's championship trophy sans injury to those three players mentioned.

Do we have the full list of imports players for the teams, especially for San Miguel Beermen? I think if there's good teamwork, SMB will be a strong team because the local players are in good shape, and JMF will dominate in the paint once again. Yes, TR7 is back, but we're unsure if he can perform at his previous level, considering his past injuries that kept him out of recent conferences. However, I'm hopeful about this because TR7 brings excitement to the crowd, especially if he makes a significant contribution.

He didn't got much playing time on his past team so hopefully we can see him balling after those injuries happened to him and coach would trust and give him decent playing time to prove that he's still a lethal player which can be a good contributor to SMB. SMB current rooster is really good so for sure they might be one of fans speculated team to win a championship this season. But lets just see if no unfortunate injuries will happen since if Fajardo or Romeo will get injured maybe their campaign to finals might get ruined for that reason so those guys should remain healthy to compete and bring the trophy to their team.

Maverick Ahanmisi, the player who asked for a big salary from his former team Converge, seems like a legitimate star player who could really help Ginebra in their campaign.
I would pick Maverick Ahanmisi over Nard Pinto because he can create points on his own, similar to CJ Perez, who can drive to the paint and shoot from outside. My only concern about him is his defense. From what I've seen, he doesn't work as hard on defense compared to Nard Pinto, but in terms of talent, the team can depend on him. Now that he's playing under Coach Tim Cone and on a team that most PBA players aspire to be a part of, if he shows discipline, it's likely he'll improve his defensive skills and become a well-rounded player.

We have our own thoughts, but let's see if they become true once the season begins. It's clear that Maverick has some unique skills, with his flashy moves and good three-point shooting. This is sure to excite the fans. Also, since he's competing against talented players, I believe he'll face challenges and work hard to impress the team's coach. This could lead to him getting more playing time. This was the comment of his coach before when he was still with the Converge. PBA: Maverick Ahanmisi playing his best basketball yet thanks to Aldin AyoAhanmisi is averaging a career-best 18.3 points on top of 6.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists in six games this season while coming off the bench.
