I have checked out Transfermarkt for transfer rumours related to Barcelona. I have only seen Arda Guler who has been on the agenda for big teams for a while. Barcelona and Real Madrid both are fighting for the youngster star candidate and let's see which team will be his choice. Barcelona look like they are focused on bringing only favorable players who don't cost them too much.

But at least Barcelona can spend some money to bring a centre-forward as a substitute to Lewandowski. If they want to play bigger in the Champions League they can't risk it. In case of an injury Lewandowski gets they would have serious difficulties to deal with.

I don't think it makes any sense at all to expect a player of Kylian Mbappe's caliber for free from a PSG team even if that possibility exists. PSG have spent a lot of money to buy him from Monaco and naturally they expect other teams to also pay them high rates for the same player. If they can get Mbappe for next to nothing, then why should they force themselves to get him for such fantastic money? I don't think it's a question of whether or not they can afford to spend that much money, but again there are things they have to consider before doing so.
Indeed, on the face of it, the possibility of this being a failed transfer is unlikely, because Mbappe has made good progress, when compared to Hazard for example, who is said to be a failed recruit for Real Madrid.
