What is happening with Atletico Madrid?

I write right now in the Champions League thread about them, because i was having high hopes of seeing them winning against Inter Milan, but man they are playing horrible right now. And they are not longer so effective in defense like in the past, seems like they are suffering so much for not having Griezman in the starter 11.

That is just the fact that Atletico Madrid lost the game against Cadiz. It is because of their formation. Why will Atletico Madrid play such a formation with them when they see Cadiz playing 4-4-2? This is the biggest mistake that they made, which also affected them, and they lost by two goals. I was not happy to see the performance that they displayed yesterday in the field. It did not make any sense because when Atletico knows that they are facing Inter Milan in the Champions League and they are playing such a game, that will make people lose hope in them because they will find it hard to win against Inter Milan. if what they did yesterday is what they will still play.

ATM is in a bad period, the defeat to Cadiz being one of their worst performances of the season. Atletico Madrid was only playing seriously when it faced Real Madrid. It was another disastrous result for Atletico Madrid to lose against Cadiz. This MMA club gets its karma. It might have been three goals if the referee had awarded Cadiz a penalty. Cadiz played so well in this game.

Griezman's absence is affecting Atletico Madrid's play, it has shown in their last two game they struggled to secured three points against Real Betis. Morata missed the first penalty but had another chance to scored another goal to make up for his error against Real Betis. But even with the absent of Griezman, I wasn't expecting that Atletico Madrid would lose to a relegation team like Cadiz and that their play would decline to this extent. With this performance, Atletico Madrid is already eliminated from the Champions League after the first leg, they are already down with one goal. They will not go on to the next round. Inter Milan is currently a difficult opponent to play against.

I agree with you. Depressing performance by Atletico Madrid versus Cadiz. I think not playing a center striker was a huge mistake. It seems Simeone's tactics were off that day, making their onslaught lifeless. They didn't go all out for their encounter versus Inter. Watching is frustrating, especially when you know they can do more. Looking ahead to their UCL match, I'm not optimistic. I doubt they'll beat Inter with the same tactics

We can't just predict that even though yesterday ATM was humiliated by lowly club Cadiz with a score of 2 - 0, this is clearly not a benchmark for us to measure ATM's true strength, because Simeone's men always play full of surprises, of course in the second leg of Inter. Milan must be careful in facing ATM, even though Inter Milan is in good form, it doesn't mean they can just beat Atletico Madrid at home, especially in the first leg match. This season is one season Barcelona fans wants to forget in a hurry as this season have been one of their down seasons coupled with the financial issues of the club. Club’s finances is always a big worry especially as it’s not going to help the club be able to get the proper signings they need. This is one challenge the club has faced this season and as such have had to manage with the injured players and the available players. Managing with both sets of players seems to be real tough and this can be troublesome especially for the coach.

  And i feel because of the trouble and all Xavi decided to depart the club at the end of the season. The win against Mallorca is a boost for them especially as they head into the UCL 2nd leg against Napoli. You can see how they’ve managed to fight all hard with their injury crisis. This win is a big boost for the team and we’ll hope they can keep the form up till they get the players back as for talks of the team relying on a 16 year old. I don’t think it’s much of a deal especially as the 16 year old is now getting the recognition and he could probably be minting cash for the club.

 Gundogan vertality is one of the main reason why Barcelona is doing very greatly this season. He’s a very good player and I think he’s got a lot to offer no matter the position he’s put to play. I think Xavi just needs to hang on as he can sure get the best of this squad and get something in the UCL though for the UCL, I’m still going to stand strong with Napoli. Agreed.. Barcelona has been able to get to the second position of the La Liga table. that is definitely good news but the problem is there is still the match of Girona to be played.  If Girona can be able to win the next match Barcelona will go down from the second position to the third position.

Now the thing is, Girona is going to play games against Osasuna in the next match.  and you know this one is not going to be that easy,  specially because Girona is not in great form right now. If we follow their last five matches they only have one win. This is definitely not something that is going to give them a lot of confidence going into the next match.

However, they still should be confident because they are going up against a team that is not relatively strong in La Liga. And remember only 1 point is not going to be enough to get them to the second position. so if they draw the match it will not give them any comfort, they must win the match anyhow.

In Girona's match against Osasuna, in fact Girona won with a score of 2:0. Because, currently Barcelona's position has shifted again to third place in the standings. This time, Real Sociedad doesn't want to be a perpetual loser and even though they play Granada in an away match, they don't just give up by accepting the existing results. The match was so exciting because both teams traded attacks until a total of 5 goals were scored. It all started with a goal scored by Granada until finally Real Sociedad got the goal back and continued until the second half.

This match almost ended in a 2-2 draw but here we see that Real Sociedad did not want to disappoint their fans again and again and Andre Silva scored the decisive goal in the 85th minute which changed the score to 2-3 in favor of Real Socidad. We often see Real Sociedad losing their teeth in the last few matches and from the last 5 matches alone they were only able to get 2 wins with the remaining 3 defeats.

I think this season is different from what they showed last season, but at least they didn't continue to fall and managed to maintain their current position. It's possible they won't be able to get the champions league zone again but other European competitions aren't too bad either.
