Well, where Barcelona plays in their own stadium and the match is already underway in the second half but the score is still 0-0. Mallorca cannot be underestimated because in the previous match they managed to beat Girona and in today match they were able to balance their game by creating a strong defense. So, if Mallorca manages to surprise them in today match, of course they are in a pretty good process of improving their position on the standings.

I write right now in the Champions League thread about them, because i was having high hopes of seeing them winning against Inter Milan, but man they are playing horrible right now. And they are not longer so effective in defense like in the past, seems like they are suffering so much for not having Griezman in the starter 11.

Griezman's absence is affecting Atletico Madrid's play, it has shown in their last two game they struggled to secured three points against Real Betis. Morata missed the first penalty but had another chance to scored another goal to make up for his error against Real Betis. But even with the absent of Griezman, I wasn't expecting that Atletico Madrid would lose to a relegation team like Cadiz and that their play would decline to this extent. With this performance, Atletico Madrid is already eliminated from the Champions League after the first leg, they are already down with one goal. They will not go on to the next round. Inter Milan is currently a difficult opponent to play against.

The players of Cadiz team were so aggressive that almost every attack was leading to success. Juanmi was able to score two goals with the magic of his feet, at the moment he is performing so well that he seems to be the only hope of the Cadiz team. In fact, this defeat was not that detrimental for Atletico Madrid because it did not have any effect on them and the reason their concentration was divided was because of course Atletico Madrid would be very focused on the next match in the second leg of the Champions League against Inter Milan.

I agree with you. Depressing performance by Atletico Madrid versus Cadiz. I think not playing a center striker was a huge mistake. It seems Simeone's tactics were off that day, making their onslaught lifeless. They didn't go all out for their encounter versus Inter. Watching is frustrating, especially when you know they can do more. Looking ahead to their UCL match, I'm not optimistic. I doubt they'll beat Inter with the same tactics

Please discuss Girona. They're crushing it this season, right? They're close to the top and won't face any challenging teams soon, so they can advance higher. I'll bet they'll finish top 3. The first thing I did today was check the results of the La Liga match and I was shocked to see the oddity that Atletico lost against Cadiz. This is completely unreasonable and I think Atletico have made an unacceptable mistake. I'm sure the bettors were very annoyed with this defeat and Atletico also showed their weakness in that match. Even though I don't bet, it still comes as a surprise to some people and sometimes the adage that anything can happen in football is true.

Barcelona already go the win that they wanted to get, and Girona will be playing Ossasuna. It is not really a terrible team, I feel like Ossasuna is is a decent team ,sure they do not look that great but they can have some big games, we have seen them play much better than what their position suggests as well.

You know that Barcelona is not constant in their winning, and anything can happen that will make them to drop down to 4th position in their next match because they struggle to achieved the victory they got from Mallorca in their last match, and before they scored the one goal from the match, it took them a long time in the second half before they where able to scored the goal to achieved the three points. On the other hand, I predict that ATM chances of beating Inter are very low, because Inzaghi fleet has appeared very consistent this season. ATM needs great luck to turn things around and catch up on the goal deficit, because on paper Inter will most likely beat them again in second Leg.

We can't just predict that even though yesterday ATM was humiliated by lowly club Cadiz with a score of 2 - 0, this is clearly not a benchmark for us to measure ATM's true strength, because Simeone's men always play full of surprises, of course in the second leg of Inter. Milan must be careful in facing ATM, even though Inter Milan is in good form, it doesn't mean they can just beat Atletico Madrid at home, especially in the first leg match. I don't know why you criticized Gundogan for playing poorly in this match. Gundogan's determined spirit and desire to conquer the heights have not diminished. This season is one season Barcelona fans wants to forget in a hurry as this season have been one of their down seasons coupled with the financial issues of the club. Club’s finances is always a big worry especially as it’s not going to help the club be able to get the proper signings they need. Agreed.. Barcelona has been able to get to the second position of the La Liga table. that is definitely good news but the problem is there is still the match of Girona to be played.  If Girona can be able to win the next match Barcelona will go down from the second position to the third position.

Now the thing is, Girona is going to play games against Osasuna in the next match.  and you know this one is not going to be that easy,  specially because Girona is not in great form right now. If we follow their last five matches they only have one win. This is definitely not something that is going to give them a lot of confidence going into the next match.

This time, Real Sociedad doesn't want to be a perpetual loser and even though they play Granada in an away match, they don't just give up by accepting the existing results. The match was so exciting because both teams traded attacks until a total of 5 goals were scored. It all started with a goal scored by Granada until finally Real Sociedad got the goal back and continued until the second half.

This match almost ended in a 2-2 draw but here we see that Real Sociedad did not want to disappoint their fans again and again and Andre Silva scored the decisive goal in the 85th minute which changed the score to 2-3 in favor of Real Socidad. We often see Real Sociedad losing their teeth in the last few matches and from the last 5 matches alone they were only able to get 2 wins with the remaining 3 defeats.

I think this season is different from what they showed last season, but at least they didn't continue to fall and managed to maintain their current position. It's possible they won't be able to get the champions league zone again but other European competitions aren't too bad either.

The match with Inter Milan in Champions League costs Atletico Madrid a lot. They were distracted too much for that coming match and lost in La Liga. Their position, the fourth, is still safely now but Athletic Club potentially can win their match and come closer to Atletico Madrid.

They already lost the match this week and have to return to focus on next week match. Before that they will have a second leg big match against Inter Milan and if they fail, their bet in La Liga will bring double losses for them.

Basically, Girona and Barcelona will continue to compete to finish in second place and thus, even if Girona manages to return to second place, but in fact Girona and Barcelona positions will still continue to change. Because after all, Girona and Barcelona only have a gap of 1 point and therefore, every time they play at different times and both get a win result, ofcourse they will continue to overtake each other there. Unless, in one of the future matches they get different results, such as a win or loss or also a draw, then ofcourse one of them will be able to go better to finish in second place. However, if the results they get in each match are always the same, then of course their position will remain like that, but indeed, I am also quite sure that Barcelona has a chance to finish in second place.

There is something to your point. Girona had a great start; in fact, they were competing with Real Madrid. However, a while back, their play declined, leaving many to question what was wrong with the team. Fortunately, things are starting to improve for Girona now. However, winning two games does not necessarily indicate that they are totally recovered. It's possible that Girona is stronger than Osasuna and that's why there isn't much of a difference.

From that first goal it would have given them confidence and from that moment they be able to decide whether they can win or not. They need to prepare there self more for the next three games even if they will not be able to catch up with real Madrid. Barcelona ain't stable yet so to me they are not part of the picture.

Celta Vigo isn't a team that I see as been really weak but whenever it has to do with going against Real Madrid, they have in most cases not succeeded, according to the H2H Real Madrid has always been the winners most times, in their most recent five wins, Real Madrid has been able to all of their encounter with celta , although they have at some point won with only slim margins but has in other times won with bigger margin too aswell but it's more often with small margin but what has been more frequent if the fact that Madrid has always won most times.

It's very possible history will repeat itself again in today's game as Madrid is at this point very much in a good form enough to handle CELTA Vigo well enough to a defeat, considering what's at stake for Madrid if the are able to win this game because the gap between them and girona is very small and to confidently stay ahead they have got to win els they will now be chased closely by girona and Barcelona which will further increased the pressure on them.

Atletico Madrid is a tough opponent for Barcelona following injuries to several of its main players such as De Jong and Pedri. Barcelona certainly has a chance to continue its positive trend against Atletico Madrid, but without some of the best midfielders Barcelona is very different. What will benefit Barcelona is that Atletico Madrid's performance is not good, but the results of the second leg of the Champions League will make both teams appear in a different spirit.

For now, Atletico Madrid has a better probability of winning than Barcelona. I'm not sure what the cause is, but this could be possible considering Barcelona lost several main players in that match. Xavi will probably still rely on Lamine Yamal, Lewandowski, Joao Felix, Fermin, Gundogan and Christensen as his midfielders and forward. But Barcelona must prepare for the second leg of the Champions League against Napoli first and can then focus on La Liga against Atletico Madrid next week.
