And Russia is proud of communism... They should be as ashamed for communism as German for Nazism...

Don't mix history and ideology in such rude way. Russians aren't some sort of natural born communists (sounds almost like a thoughtcrime, hm?), nor do they show big support for their modern communist party. They are proud of what they achieved in historical period corresponding with the communist rule. Communism happened to help them to make gigantic step from poor, under-developed, mostly agricultural country to world superpower. Communists were also in charge when Russians and other Soviet nations won the bloodiest war that the world has ever seen, one which threatened them with complete annihilation as sub-humans, a lesser race in Nazi eyes. But in the same time most Russians are well aware of the communism's dark side, though, and they don't have any illusions about it.

Funny, but that - federalization - was Donetsk' and Lugansk' demands right from the start, before they were forced to take to arms.

Yep, I know. Do you think that the federalization isn't even an option any more? When/if Kiev offers substantial autonomy, Novorossia will reject it?

You have gotten me there. Smiley I mixed two different events. Afghanistan acknowledged the results of Crimean referendum.

Russia should have never allied itself with France and GB before WWI, but stayed neutral. By manoeuvring Russia into the alliance, GB ensured that Russia became the source of cannon fodder and that its growing industrial power got crippled. And by financing the revolutionaries (Esers), the destruction of Russian political system and its transition to Constitutional Monarchy was ensured as well.

Hologram, don't mix Russia and Soviet Union. Those are two very different entities. Russia is still trying to come back to its former self after the Soviet terror and two world wars.

So if Russia is really a normal, modern and peaceful country you have a serious communication problem...

Here in my country:
People sustain Russia: Communist, National socialist, conspirationist (Illuminati, Jews conspiration), terrorist minded Muslim, antisemitic, racist.
People sustain USA:Investor, business man, business holder, ambitious young people, hight skilled people, rich, startup creator.

I'm sure Russia is not full of illuminated people like the west is not full of "decadent" people (Putin said, but the LGBT is a really tiny and powerful lobby like the green, nobody really like them...) but it's the image you show to the world, even in this thread an exited guy is saying "Russia will free Europ from imperialism"...

Now really...

Quote
The Republic is recognised only by South Ossetia, which itself only has limited international recognition
I'm sorry, but anybody who makes such claims

Quote
Without international recognition , there is no <insert name here>.

talks a nonsense. There is no such thing as "international recognition" in the UN Charter. This is something that anyone is able to check if he has this desire, just open the UN site and dedicate some time for reading this text. Please stop attempts to substitute an international law by Obama's fantasies.

So you claim that this fantasy country really exists?
And it has diplomatic and economic relations with any other country?

Not even a Russian official has ever spoken of it as a country so.. it's a country based on what?
They don't even have salt or sugar according to 247crypto , how can they be a full fledged country ?

Two things are required for a country to exist, that is territory (and population living within) and the ability to defend this territory from external threats. These two things comprise what is called sovereignty (supreme authority over a territory). We have both in respect to Donetsk and Lugansk, whether you like it or not. As you may guess, salt, sugar and international recognition are not required... Roll Eyes

diplomatically speaking. the conflict is still ongoing, it would be quite unwise for any state to recognise novorossiya as of now. once it normalises then sides can be officially chosen.

It's okay to recognize Novorussia anytime... there's no law forbidding anybody to do that. Anyway, the world is at a flux between two civilizations- one imploding, one emergent. The emergent one can create the new parameters of the new dispensation. A more astute observer must have realized by now there will be a Novorussia, it's just a matter of delineating its actual territory, whether it will include Transcarpathia, the whole South-eastern part or even Kiev, that depends on the Russians eventually really.

There are backdrop plays as we speak, & this will play the bigger part of the events: Russia & China can sense the implosion of the post-World War I Anglo-American Empire. While the American mainstream propaganda press was trumpetting the recovery of the American economy, it turned out it shrunk in the first quarter by 2.9% & all the indicators showed increasing poverty: 20% of American families are unemployed, 20% of American children are in poverty, the Keynesian nightmare has created gigantic bubbles that are believed to burst this year resulting in worse depression than the 2008 debacle, etc. You can read all about these in the American alternative press (Zerohedge.com, etc) & they are bewailing the manipulation of data by desperate American officials to create a fake facade of growth but they are not convincing anybody, everybody knows the skyrocketing stocks amidst increasing poverty of the populace are just making the population hate the upper 1% which are getting rich at everybody else's expense..

The secret of the American empire is its dollar international monopoly which funded its military & its mass media including the NGO"s.The mainstream propaganda press is still saying its 60% but the IMF has stated it has already slowed down to 33% by end of 2013 (nobody is buying its debts so it is believed the US Fed itself is now buying its debts in subterfuge because a large amount of US debts are now bought by Belgium in the records but the income of Belgium is only half the total amount it supposed to have bought, an impossible proposition- it is believed the Fed bought itself the debt using the Belgian Clearance center that's why it was reflected as bought by Belgium in the records). It is now known that instead of the official $17 trilliopn debt, the US actually has $60 trillion debt (so many bogus data coming out of the desperation). Anyway, Russia & China has started their anti-dollar monopoly fight  & China has created the ASian Infrastructure Development bank which will bankroll the new Silk Road which will unite East Asia with Europe. That and  the creation of the Brics Bank before the year is over, we have here the emergence of an alternative financial system which can exist separate from the post-Bretton Woods imploding Anglo-American one.

Europe can choose to join the anti-dollar alliance to hasten the withdrawal from the dollar. After BNP Paribas was asked to pay $9 billion by the US as punishment for its Iran  deals, the Finance Minister of France Michael Sapin  stated  it's time to step away from the dollar. The Europeans are starting to feel uncomfortable being poodles to the American Empire. They need the South Stream but the machinations of the Americans in Eastern Europe have made it suddenly difficult for them to have relatively cheaper energy security- the alternative is obviously  more expensive, the Russians who only has operational expenses of $1 dollar per 1000 l can easily undercut the price of liquified natural gas coming from other places (the gas loses 1/4 of its value as a result of the liquefaction process so its more expensive). Moreover, Russia has become the biggest market for the Europeans considering the EU has been stagnant for some time & it is still struggling. So you see here that the Europeans are really balking at pushing with the sanctions because it is against their interest (Russia has the cash reserve to survive the sanctions but the Europeans are debilitated by so much debt they will accelerate their implosion).

So Putin, through his chess moves,  was able to enlighten the big European countries to fight for their interest over American power plays. If France & Austria have started thinking & be vocal about it, we know what the others are thinking (I'm not really concerned about the small Eastern European states like Poland, Romania or the Baltics- they just figure in Western propaganda press because they can not use the major European countries like Germany, France, etc. in their propaganda. When the dust settles, Russia & the European majors will know how to take care of the delusions of these small countries. Besides, they really can't expect deliverance from a bankrupt America even now, they are all poor- what more in the future?

So we see here Putin will go down in history as having ignited the desire of the European majors to fight for what is good for them against the American imperial dictates. Putin will go down in history as liberator of Europe from tyranny, actually.

It's a good example why i say you are dangerous...

This guy do a stupid economic analysis where he don't make the difference between monetary system and wealth creation and ignore that most developing country used the fed QE to expend there own monetary base with printed dollar for collateral (making a worst keynesian pile of shit) and you applause...

that's sad you said some smart thing few post before.

And finally, a morsel from Merkel. She threatened Russia with more sanctions will be set in effect now (the second round), and they are preparing for the next planned third round of sanctions:

So, Poroshenko gets to kill people, while Russia gets sanctions. Interesting...

You have gotten me there. Smiley I mixed two different events. Afghanistan acknowledged the results of Crimean referendum.

While South Osetia acknowledge independence of Lugansk People's Republic:
http://lenta.ru/news/2014/06/17/independence/

You're going brynat's way , be carefull Smiley.

Too bad in case of South Osetia that itself is a country too few bothered to recognize.

Well, you should be careful too, as you are representing a relatively small nation yourself, that, at a turn of a tide might get overrun, an not necessarily from the East.

As for Osetins, they have been described as an extremely small, yet extremely proud nation. They also have a grudge against West-Ukrainians, as those were fighting on the side of Georgians when Georgia invaded South Osetia, and those West-Ukrainians were particularly brutal to the locals.

More than one month of fighting and still the Kiev junta can't over-run the rebel lines in Slavyansk. There are just around 2,000 rebel fighters there, and they are outnumbered by 20 to one.

Meanwhile in Kondrashovka, 7 civilians (including a 5-year old girl) were killed in an air-strike by the Nazis.

This resonates strongly with the following poem:

A German woman, Margaret Zeidler, enlisted in Donetsk Republic's Ministry of Defence and works in the information service there. Here is her report, decrying fascism (in Russian):
http://rusvesna.su/news/1404316107

Fascists dropped today a forbidden cluster bomb on a factory in Lisichansk. People were out for dinner break, so no one was hurt. earlier artillery fire scored a direct and very precise hit at an orphanage, which was luckily already evacuated by the freedom fighters:

Here is audio recording of the pilot as he locks on the target (the factory) and fires.

It's a good example why i say you are dangerous...

This guy do a stupid economic analysis where he don't make the difference between monetary system and wealth creation and ignore that most developing country used the fed QE to expend there own monetary base with printed dollar for collateral (making a worst keynesian pile of shit) and you applause...

that's sad you said some smart thing few post before.

he might do a substandard economical analysis. but his political one is rather sound.

Shells devastate entire streets in eastern Ukrainian town (VIDEO, PHOTOS)
http://rt.com/news/170032-lugansk-ukraine-shelling-airstrike/

Quote
Eyewitnesses in the Cossack settlement of Luganskaya have accused government forces of carrying out two airstrikes on densely-populated residential areas. Kiev says the devastation is the result of shelling by secessionist forces.

“The first plane appeared at 11 am, and hit the center of the town – destroying the police building, damaging the courthouse, and razing two houses. We won’t know the death toll until the rubble is cleared,” said Vladimir Bilous, the head of the local administration.

Yet, there is a glimmer of hope:

Ceasefire in E. Ukraine, OSCE observers at Russian checkpoints agreed at Berlin meeting
http://rt.com/news/170012-lavrov-ukraine-talks-peace/

Quote
A roadmap of measures that will point a way out of the Ukrainian crisis has been agreed during four-way talks between the foreign ministers of Germany, France, Russia and Ukraine, German FM Frank-Walter Steinmeier said.

In their joint statement, the ministers called for the Contact Group to resume its work “no later than July 5 with the goal of reaching an unconditional and mutually agreed, sustainable ceasefire.”

Quote
While Russia only has limited influence over the self-defense forces in southeast Ukraine, Lavrov said that their representatives, including Donetsk People's Republic leader Aleksandr Boroday, have already “publicly stated that they are ready to answer Russia’s and the OSCE’s calls to start consultations on a ceasefire.”

I wonder if the OSCE observer reports will be brushed away by the US, just as they (in Psaki's Q&A) brushed away UN report on refugees?
