They might be formidable but just as well they might prove useless and with the recent wars seeing tons of tons of Russian weapons turned into scrapmetal by the us forces I incline to the second of those two

On the age of the upgraded models.

BTW the Patriot is also an old system but with all the upgrades it still a state of the art SAM system, however these system are also not very well tested against real enemy planes. OK it was tested against Iraqi "tuned" SCUD missiles, unsuspecting friendly aircrafts, and two old do it yourself Hamas drones .

As I wrote earlier those Russian weapons were all the so called "Monkey models" aka downgraded export versions without all the fancy stuff what was built into the domestic models.

The strategy of the Anglo-American shadow players is to use INFERIORITY COMPLEX as basis of mobilization for their political destabilizations (read "Brave New World")and this is very instructive with Post-Soviet people who have this illogical hatred of Russians (notice their CONVENIENT reference to  Soviet times, forgetting the Russians freed themselves from the Soviets as well but their hatred is not really about their hatred for the Soviets but their INFERIORITY to the Russians, believing their ASSOCIATION with the perceived SUPERIOR West (though now acknowledged by every clear-thinking individual in the WEst as DECLINING) will rob them off their perceived inferiority. To these people, Russians will always be hated whatever they do because everybody else will always feel inferior.  This is the case with the Ukrainians who defy logic as to their interests just so they can fool themselves they are not inferior (though they will always be because their giant neighbor has  1/4 of the essential natural resources of the world (not just oil, mind you) & more importantly, their perceived savior, the West, is clearly in decline (probably, they will become insane too when the dollar crashes soon).

Of course, the INFERIOR will try to believe anything so he can cling to his sanity.

Handelsblatt, the top business paper in Germany, mentioned that apart from the Normandy landing, the US failed in all its other military adventures , be it in Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc. NATO lost in Afghanistan!!!  You mention above that the US is BATTLE TESTED but even Al Qaeda was battle tested so they didn't lose to the Americans/ NATO.

Actually Russian missilles have been tested on the Americans already. There was already a "war" between Russia and the US but the US lost before it even started. Last year we saw the American President declaring that Syria has crossed its "red line" and it was to be attacked. BUt funny, after all the saliva sprayed all over, the attack was called off and it was the Russian President who had to save the skin of the American President. Humiliating but it happened...

On September 13, 2013, the Americans have actually fired two missiles from Spain towards Damascus but it was detected by the Armavir station near Stavropol thousands of kilometers away and two Russian missiles were sent to intercept them. No missiles reached Damascus. They blamed it on Israel but even Israel was clueless at first because it didn't have those missiles in the first place. But it eventually admitted it, adding to the comedy.

You see here the magnanimity of Putin. SO that makes us understand how he has been acting cool lately,that despite the public bellicosity of Obama, their interactions are measured and seemed synchronous at points probably not to alarm the neocon hawks.

As to the other claims of Western military superiority, read Western military forums and see how they lambast the bloated budgets on substandard equipments. A supposed Stealth drone was shot not only in Iran but downed by infrared bomb in Murmansk. That Stealth project had a $1 trillion budget but it produced a lemon.

A well informed diplomatic source told As-Safir newspaper that “the US war on Syria had started and ended the moment those two ballistic missiles were fired, leaving inconsistent information, as Israel denied and Russia confirmed, until an Israeli statement was issued indicating they were fired in the context of an Israeli-US joint drill and fell in the sea, and that they were not related to the Syrian crisis.”

In this context, the source pointed out that “the statement issued by the Russian Defense Ministry, which stated the detection of two ballistic missiles fired towards the Middle East, intended to neglect two points: the first was the location from which the two rockets were fired, and the second was their downing. Why? Because the moment the full military operation was launched, Head of the Russian Intelligence Service contacted the US intelligence and informed it that “hitting Damascus means hitting Moscow, and we have removed the term “downed the two missiles” from the statement to preserve the bilateral relations and to avoid escalation. Therefore, you must immediately reconsider your policies, approaches and intentions on the Syrian crisis, as you must be certain that you cannot eliminate our presence in the Mediterranean.”

“This unannounced direct confrontation between Moscow and Washington increased the Obama Administration’s confusion and certainty that the Russian side was ready to move until the end with the Syrian cause, and that the US did not have a way out of its impasse except through a Russian initiative which would save America’s face…” he added.

From this point, the diplomatic source clarified that “in order to avoid further US confusion, and after Israel denied knowing anything about the rocket firing in its first statement, which is the truth, Washington demanded Tel Aviv to adopt the rocket firing to save its face in front of the International Community, especially since these two rockets were the beginning of the US aggression on Syria and the announcement of the beginning of military operations, after which US President Barack Obama was supposed to go to the G20 Summit in Russia to negotiate the destiny of Syrian President Bashr Al-Assad. However, he went to find a way out of the impasse he’s in.”

The source further indicated that “after the US-Russia rocket confrontation, Moscow intended to increase its number of military experts in Russia, and added to its military units and destroyers to enhance its military presence in the Mediterranean. It also set a time for announcing about its initiative on stopping the aggression on Syria after the G20 Summit, after drawing a side scene on the sidelines of the summit which was followed by two successive visits for Iranian Foreign Minister, Hussein Amir Abdul Lahyan, and Syrian Foreign Minister, Walid Al-Moallem, in which a way out was agreed on with the Russian side, and it included a Syrian announcement on approving the Russian initiative regarding putting Syrian chemical weapons under international supervision and preparing Syria for joining the non-proliferation treaty.

Finally, the source pointed out that “One of the first results of the US-Russian military confrontation was the British House of Commons’ rejection to participate in a war on Syria. This was followed by European stances, most significantly, the German stance announced by Chancellor Angela Merkel."

I'm not a fan of USA either, and am looking to move out, but if I was forced to live in one of them, I would still pick USA. How about you guys?

I would prefer to live in the country which doesn't force me to report all my foreign incomings or pay the taxes from foreign incomings. And USA is definetely not in that list, because you have to report all foreign incomings and pay the taxes from them. You have to do this even if you're not living in the US and your incomings are nominated in a local currency.

That doesn't answer my question, especially since if you lived in that country, your income would be while you lived in that country. Also, I didn't ask what citizenship you want, I asked where you would rather live if you were forced to.

It's really depressing seeing libertarians supporting statist socialist extremists. I support separatists. Actual separatists. I don't support foreign "volunteers," or what seem to be warlords in the making, who are imposing their will on the people actually living there. At this point, there are only three possible outcomes for these regions: 1. Russian invaders are pushed out, Ukraine holds control, and they are forced to join Europe (which has some economic freedoms and almost all personal freedoms), 2. Russia takes control and annexes these territories to be part of Russia (so they have few economic freedoms and even fewer personal freedoms, but at least have a lot of social welfare programs to depend on), or 3. both sides are pushed out, these places are given independence, and thanks to the statist socialist brainwashing of the general population, ends up being similar to Somalia at worst, or one of the failing Baltic states at best.

Honestly, these "separatists" would have been MUCH better just never starting this whole thing in the first place (which I still entirely blame Russian propaganda and fear-mongering for).

The strategy of the Anglo-American shadow players is to use INFERIORITY COMPLEX as basis of mobilization for their political destabilizations (read "Brave New World")and this is very instructive with Post-Soviet people who have this illogical hatred of Russians (notice their CONVENIENT reference to  Soviet times, forgetting the Russians freed themselves from the Soviets as well

It probably has to do with the fact that it was Russia that invaded them, Russia that was the seat of Soviet power, and basically Russia that they broke off from, after which Russia renamed itself from Soviet Union back to Russia. While still having the same soviets and KGB in power that it did before. Russia displaying imperialist tendencies, trying to take over countries and bring them back under Russian control, just as they did back when they were Soviet Union, isn't helping either.

How do you guys know that this was left by Ukraine, and not secretly donated by Russia with a convenient cover story? You guys yourselves admitted that Russia is giving weapons assistance to the separatists.

That is extremely unlikely.  The Vehicles there have white stripes painted on them, which is the Ukraine Army identification.

When the original Southern Cauldron was fully liquidated, there was over 100 armored vehicles/artillery pieces that were left in-tact that were captured by the rebels. It was one of the terms of their surrender.

A very large portion, if not all of the armor/artillery that the rebels have is from the Ukies
