I don't think you should be experiencing 500 Ghs fluctuations w identical power settings.  Mine are within 2-3% of one another.

Hello everyone. I'm a CoinTerra refugee and new to the Spondoolies camp. Just got an SP31 up and running over the weekend.

I can't seem to find any definitive explanation for setting the "Fan Speed" parameter. The documentation says the fan speed affects the unit's hash rate.  But is the effect of fan speed on hash rate direct or consequential?  That is, is the fan speed setting directly used in setting the ASIC clock rates, or does a faster/slower fan simply mean cooler/warmer ASICs that subsequently mean faster/slower hashing?

The reason I ask is that my miner is in relatively cold (60F) server room and the chassis temps are holding at 21C front and 59C/59C rear.  So I was wondering if it's possible to devote less PSU power to air movement, and more power to the ASICs by reducing the fan speed. Or is such an endeavor a fool's errand?

Any sound (pardon the pun) advice on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

This might be a little off topic I appolgize.  Just wanted to warn you that you might want to switch names before you go to far. Terra Hash was a scam bitcoin maker that ran off with pre-orders.   So if anyone googles your name it has TONS of bad PR.

@notlist3d: Thanks for the fair warning. I'll be sure to have my flame suite ready. But I can assure you I AM NOT THAT GUY!!! I'm just some dude down in Mississippi trying to mine a few coins. My TerraMiner IV units suffered premature deaths, so I made scrap metal out of them and moved to Spondoolies.

Hi.  I run 10 of the SP31s and here are some of my settings.

Most quiet, my most efficient setting:  Fan 40 then .64 .64. .67 and PSUs to 750w each.  This should equal about 3500 ghs. At this setting, my AC units are louder than the miners.

For about 4,000 ghs:  Fan 60, .65 .65 .70 and PSUs to 925w each.

I have other settings above this, but these are the two lower settings that I most often use, especially if the miners will be unattended.  Please keep in mind that these settings may not work for others and are based on my cooling/ventilation setup, etc.

Hope this helps a little.  I have seen little fluctuation in hashing rate with fan speeds, more so with PSU voltage limits.

I'm running 5 units, all currently with identical settings. It's a mixed bag on performance.  The temps are all very close, but the hash rate varies amongst the units from ~4000 to ~4450.  I was hoping for a bit more consistency but this may normal.  I'v also got one unit where ASIC#1 is totally DOA from Spondoolies-Tech.  Not really sure what to do about that.

After two years in the making, I'm happy to announce that we completed the development of a very efficient SAT solver for SHA256.
On Intel D54250WYK NUC with 16 GB of RAM, we're getting about 100 TH/s.

With great power comes great responsibility.

In order to protect the Bitcoin ecosystem, we'll sell each month only 1,000 SAT10 units.
The initial cost will be $5,000 per unit. We'll sell up to two units per customer each month.

Each SAT10 unit will contain the following:

- Intel D54250WYK NUC
- 16 GB Kingston SODIMM
- 1TB WD Magnetic 2.5" HDD (we'll provide SSD upgrade option)
- Intel Dual Band Wireless-N 7260 card
- Spondoolies's Propriety mini PCI Express card
- Pre-configured Ubuntu 14.04 with cgminer, running as full node

The mini PCI Express card contains proprietary essentials close elements of the SAT Solver.

We did a large scale testing of our initial batch last week but beside testing and development, we don't intend to run our own farm.

If you're interested to participate in a draw to buy the first batch (shipping immediately from stock), please fill the following form:
http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/pages/sat10-draw

Thanks,
Guy

Hi,

I meant to put myself down in the drawing for 2 units.  I accidentally clicked submit without changing the 1 in quantity to 2 in quantity when my 4 year old hit my arm [making me accidentally tap "submit"].  I immediately filled out the drawing form for another single unit in quantity again.  I'm assuming this means I would have to get drawn twice to get both units now?  This is okay if that's the case...

Oh man, April Fools started early for some of us Tongue  Tongue

Transaction fees go to the pools and the pools decide to pay them to the miners. Anything else, including off-chain solutions are stealing and not the way Bitcoin was intended to function.
Make the block size set by the pool. Pool = miners and they get the choice.

Last week testing can be seen here:

We used a sliding window of 300 SAT10 every few hours.

We'll upgrade next month batch to Intel NUC NUC5i5RYH model. The CPU in the NUC NUC5i5RYH is 5th generation Intel® Core™ i5-5250U processor (a Broadwell micro-architecture, 14 nm)

We'll pre-load the machine with Popcorn time for Linux (64 bit), so the SAT10 may be used as a very capable HTPC while triple functioning as full node and capable miner.

We'll sell an optional SSD upgrade and an optional AirMouse

We're testing various Steam games for Linux to see if it will make sense to sell an optional Gamepad as well.
