Very nice statistics: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/coronavirus-age-sex-demographics/

Basically one of 10 people that is over 80+ will die if it gets covid19. That's sad.

She's crazy like a fool.

Sad that it is only 1/10 to a lot of the psychopathic technocrats who are calling the shots these days.  And in fact to a lot of the ordinary peeps who have been drinking their koolaid.

A game changer??

Quote
Chinese health officials say that about 14% of patients in Guangdong province who had the coronavirus but recovered and were discharged from hospital have tested positive for the virus again.

Health officials admit they're still learning about the new coronavirus and how it operates within the human body.

The same phenomenon has been reported in Japan, when a woman in her 40s who had recovered and tested negative for the virus then tested positive more than three weeks later.

The authorities in both countries have pledged to continue tracking former patients, even after they've been discharged from hospital.

It will be probably more difficult to contain the virus this way.

I think this virus is not such a big problem. A huge number of people die every year from other reasons, but we will not wilt because of this. Just stay calm and use the ozonizer in the room where you are (but do not forget to ventilate the room after ozone)

Any Virus will stay with the host until the host dies, temperature sinks to 30° C (86° F). After it overcomes a infection the immune system will deal with it, keeping it in check.

@josephsonand
Cutting a onion in halve and put it on the table also helps, new onion every day. And Sun, yes do get Sun shine on you.

World hunger kills thousands a day
2000-6000 die from lightning strikes a year
A half a million from the flu every year
Texting while driving kills 6,000 annually in the U.S. alone
About 1,800 people living in nursing homes die each year from falls in US alone.
Hippos kill 2,900 people annually in Africa
Some get run over by a bus, I personally know someone.
To this day no-one managed to avoid day x.

First U.S. coronavirus case of unknown origin confirmed in Northern California, CDC says
Officials with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed the nation’s first coronavirus case of unknown origin Wednesday in Northern California in the latest sign of the virus’ rapid spread.

“the individual is a resident of Solano County and is receiving medical care in Sacramento County. The individual had no known exposure to the virus through travel or close contact with a known infected individual,” California Department of Public Health officials said in a news release Wednesday evening. State public health officials in Sacramento, citing the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said the case is the first person-to-person transmission of the COVID-19 virus.

To date, public health officials worldwide have reported 2,770 deaths resulting from the coronavirus, 99 percent of them in mainland China. More than 81,300 cases of the illness have confirmed globally. All but 1,966 of those cases have been in China. The CDC has reported 60 cases in the United States, 45 of whom were U.S. citizens evacuated from the Diamond Princess cruise ship and from Wuhan, China.

Meaning, there are people spreading it without knowing. It has reached America folks, right after Trump made the vice president lead the government's response to the virus...

I said it was a matter of time, and time is up. Whoever infected this person is out there spreading it, and even if they find the spreader, its already spread into others, who are right now spreading it without knowing...

Now the question is, would you belong to that 5% statistic, or the 10% statistic? Are you willing to stay at home for a month or gamble the lottery?

Yes the elderly are the major risk group, you already know about the 31 year old Wuhan ophthalmologist that died early February.

Reminder: The masks are for those having coughs or sneezes, healthy people should NOT wear masks, those masks won't protect you, its to stop you from spreading it into others. You would do better staying home.

....
I would be interested in these numbers broken down by age range, and preexisting serious medical conditions (such as cancer) that may make a person more vulnerable to the effects of the flu, and may have an already elevated chance of dying without having a Coronavirus infection.
The discrepancy at the beginning stemmed form the fact that China counted virus infected deaths differently.
If someone is terminal ill literally days away from death and is then infected with a virus and dies, its statistically counted as a victim of the virus.
In reality the virus just shortened the suffering period and pushed it over the edge. Previously China would list the cause of death as preexisting serious medical conditions and not the flu, SARS-Cov-2......  like in US or other places.
I will have to read into if any virus can kill a 100% healthy person (some have undiagnosed health issues and feel 100% healthy).

You sure dont want to be homeless in San Francisco / California right now.

In those cases, the virus may have killed the patient, however the patient may have had a weakened immune system, or already damaged organs. The flu can cause damage to certain organs and if the patient already has an organ that is damaged, the additional damage from the flu may kill them, or at least this is my understanding. It is unusual, but the flu can kill a person who was healthy prior to getting the flu.

If cases were to be broken down in more detail, more information about how deadly the virus really is.

Gloves proved far better protection then masks. Unless 100% airtight, air will be bypass the mask and seek the way of no resistance.

Anyway helicopter money coming to China. 10,000 yuan for poor people is a years wage. A whole family infection wipes of the loan no worries. Who can resist, just say i may have it now give me the months wage.  They even have a treatment also, China will soon rule the world.

In Bitcoin terms the virus is like a 51% attack. If it manages to have more dead cells in the host, the host is done only a matter of time then.
Elderly fragile sic are at increased risk because a certain percentage is already dead/damaged and gives a solid foundation to multiply.
Virus in itself can not reproduce.

N95 - FFP2 and above masks will in fact help prevent you from being infected, assuming it is a proper fit. Still, you would be better off just staying at home.

Acquiring storable food, water, medicine, etc is highly advisable as there is a very good chance we are going to be seeing quarantines that could last months. The true scope of this pandemic is going to become evident within the next 2 weeks as reality sets in, and people start to panic. There will be shortages of practically everything even if you aren't quarantined. Be prepared.

Given the choice of alcohol gel hand cleaner vs N95, I would take the hand cleaner.

However, given the scarcity of the masks, here is a suggestion. Get activated carbon sheets, and make your own masks. >N95 of course.

I think it is even illegal to wear mask in some places in Europe, people been fined for it. The risk of getting infected from touching a subway door handle or lift button in high-rise or other places people touch frequently are significantly higher than someone spit you into the mouth.

Frequent washing of hands is a great cheap way to reduce risk.

Comedy gold, the guy is issupposedly sick/infected, the nurses opinion of the surgical mask.    She is a health professional after all.

If people think this is bad, wait until they hear about influenza

Since October 2019:

13,000,000 – 18,000,000
flu illnesses

5,900,000 – 8,500,000
flu medical visits

120,000 – 210,000
flu hospitalizations

6,600 – 17,000
flu deaths

I think the difference is that the vast majority of those FLU deaths were elderly people, or young children. Though your point is well taken.

Obviously direct contact or infected surface contact is a higher threat, but it is still airborne. Speaking of medical professionals, I got my information from an expert in epidemiology I know personally. He is not the type to panic, but he is very concerned and suggesting people prepare.

"airborne" does it mean a uniform soup of viruses all the way from ground up to the stratosphere?
Or is it at a particular temperature and atmospheric pressure floats at exactly nose high but not higher and want ever mix with eye moister.
He sure must have a good stash of protective airtight eye-wear.   Probable the reason the guy behind the driver got full hazmat suit on.

Expert here, clean hands frequently with antiseptic/disinfectant tissue towel especial after douching door handles/knobs or other things lots of people touch.

If you would take a break from being adversarial Trash, you would see I am agreeing with you on everything except your disagreement that N95 FFP2 will in fact help prevent the wearer from being infected. The fact that retards exist and don't bother protecting themselves is not evidence that they won't. Eye protection is also advisable.
