The 'megadose' in that study is 1,000 mg hourly for the first 6 hours, of the first day, and then 3 1,000 mg doses every day after. All taken orally.
The fake news article is recommending a dosage of 4.000 mg - 16,000 mg, taken by IV.(for people with the virus) Hey look who it is, Captain Semantics here to distract from the point in order to backpedal to feel the most right about the worlds wrongs. Please quote in the abstract where it says "orally". Vitamin C is an effective treatment and prevention for viral infections. The end. It doesn't explicitly say orally in the abstract, I made an assumption based on what was included in the abstract. Unless we have access to the actual study, all we can do is make assumptions based on the abstract...right? You really shouldn't play the 'he made an assumption therefore he is wrong' card if you are using only the abstract of a study to make a point.

Or we could, you know not make assumptions just because they serve your little semantic distinction, we could also do that. I will take my study abstract over your bullshit articles, thanks. FYI, there are lots of studies on vitamin C treatments for a wide variety of diseases if you bothered to look for them objectively instead of just cherry picking articles which confirm your bias. I am sure feeling right is more important than learning something and potentially saving lives so you can stroke your ego though.

The guy we were discussing, and that now seem to be defending, claimed: "The coronavirus pandemic can be dramatically slowed, or stopped completely, with the immediate widespread use of high doses of vitamin C.". He created that narrative. Then he wrote a bunch of press statements to commentate on his own statement. Go click around a couple of the articles. Should only take a couple clicks before you realize you're looking at one giant ad.

- All cultural, religious or festive events are suspended
- Cinemas, pubs, theaters, dance schools, game rooms, casinos, nightclubs and other similar places shall remain closed

There's not only Corona flu, at least must be some flues go with. At current time, we hard to determine which the flu is. Would Dr. Luc Montagnier (the discoverer) of HIV, know a thing or two about viruses. https://youtu.be/XSSpoFq7uhM?t=16Vitamin C is one the most powerful antioxidants in nature. That's right. And people should to drink sour fruit juice such as orange, lemon juice,... add vita. C into their blood.

and the real funny think about certain people trying to be vitamin C ambassadors.. you can spot when they step over the line of trying to har to push something as a medical miracle cure
but here is a wake up call: its does not prevent the flu
it alleviates the symptoms there is a difference
plus. vitamin C does not prevent pneumonia. otherwise doctors would be telling people with pneumonia to just go home with a glass of orange juice and they will be ok in the morning.. .. yet.. instead people still die from it
because vitamin C doesnt cure things or prevent things. it just alleviates the symptoms
if orange juice was such a miracle cure. then people would be forming black markets to sell orange juice at stupidly high prices.. not face masks

That solves it everyone. Science is wrong, Franky1 is right. There certainly is no incentive for the medical industry to sell everyone expensive pharmaceuticals when simple natural and unpatentable treatments are available right? I mean just look at marijuana, the government says it has zero medical value, and they would never lie to you right?

the way you word it is as if vitamin C prevents the flu sorry it does not the study which was stated had nothing to do with people who never got the flu the study was about people who had the flu AND THEN given vit C to see how it reduced the severity of symptoms you are the one that tried to highlight a small extract that said it reduced or prevent symptomsand then you went on some campaign to make it sound like vit C prevents the flu you wanted to emphasise 'prevent' and then you assumed it ment prevent flu but the real emphasis is reduce symptoms. double emphasis on symptoms one more time reduce the symptoms is no where near the same as prevent the virus prevent the flu cure the flu and also vitamin C does not store in the body. so its not like if you dose up on it a week before a local outbreak of the flu. it will act as a shield to prevent you getting the flu for a month i said it a few times before so lets make it clear if you have the flu taking vitamin C can help boost your system to not feel as unwell as possible but dont expect to feel 100% it can help but it aint a cure/preventative method of the flu its just a support aid to reduce the risk/harm/severity same goes for water drinking 10litres a week before the flu wont help much when you get the flu. it wont cure or prevent it. however once yo have the flu. and yes everyone will get it. however one you get it staying hydrated while you have it will help give you a boost so that you dont feel as sluggish as some people with more severe symptoms who dont hydrate it all about perspective and also marijuana has positive AND negative health concerns and no cannabis does not cure cancer it can though help you be more relaxed and less stressed when getting other treatment lets word it this way. if you have toothpain and need a tooth extraction. and given pain relief. the pain releaf is not the cure of whats happening in your mouth. keeping the tooth in an just taking pain killers just hides the symptoms but doesnt mean the rotton tooth just goes away. you still need it extracted. however by not extrating it yo could then just become dependant on painkillers and then start having other mouth issues like ulcers and gum rot and other things. so even if not inpain our not curing the problem in your mouth. and thats the issue with trying to think these symptom aids are cures. they are not. they just make the symptoms less recognisable/severe but they dont solve the underlying cause. so please atleast grow some morals and stop trying to promote vit C as if it will prevent someone getting a virus.. or what you will get is people walking round with oranges selotaped to their mouth thinking they are immortal from the flu.... but then get it anyway pain killers reduce or prevent toothdecay pain does not mean painkillers prevent tooth decay does not mean you will be 100% painless. does not mean 1 pill will shield you of all pain forever do you understand yet?

vitamin C prevents the flu ............... That is in the same pot as vaccine, over-unity devices and other such fallacy's. No matter what, over 100% want be archived, health or otherwise. All what is happening the lever is shifted, like daylight saving, more here take away the other side. Building a gaming character and have 100 points available, spent one on vaccine leaves 99 for the rest. It may or may not helps with defense against the flu, but people with flu vaccine may increase the risk of other respiratory viruses, called virus interference. Vaccine derived virus interference was significantly associated with coronavirus and human metapneumovirus No amount of Vitamin C or vaccines will make a "superman". Anyone can choose what ever medicine the fancy. In the unlike event i need some with viruses infection i will demand the best and that is a mega dose of antioxidants , (4,000 to 16,000 mg by IV) Vitamine C is one of the best naturally. Less than 100mg of Vitamin C is needed daily, easy archived with proper nutrition (Dr. Luc Montagnier the discoverer of HIV). Orange with about 3 inch diameter is ~ 100 milligrams Strawberries, one serving (147 grams) has 86.5 milligrams of vitamin C, and slows cognitive degeneration. One small head of cauliflower (with a four-inch diameter) has 127.7 milligrams of vitamin C One serving (148 grams) of chopped broccoli adds up to 132 milligrams of vitamin C. One serving of kiwi offers 137.2 milligrams of vitamin C. A cup of mashed papaya has a whopping 140 milligrams. Kale, two cups of this veggie, chopped, offers 160.8 milligrams of vitamin C. Red Bell Peppers, one cup of raw, chopped red bell pepper packs an impressive 190.3 milligrams of vitamin C. Green pepper has 119.8 milligrams. Yellow bell pepper/capsicum 183mg per 100g Blackcurrant 200 mg per 100g Seabuckthorn 695 mg per 100g Acerola 1677 per 100g Kakadu plum 1000–5300mg Terminalia ferdinandiana, the world's highest source of Vitamin C. you wanted to emphasise 'prevent' and then you assumed it ment prevent flu but the real emphasis is reduce symptoms. double emphasis on symptoms... Jesus H. Christ you love sucking yourself off. I know reading comprehension and word definitions are not your thing, but this is getting pathetic. " Definition of prevention: the act of preventing or hindering" "RESULTS:
Overall, reported flu and cold symptoms in the test group decreased 85% compared with the control group after the administration of megadose Vitamin C.
CONCLUSION:
Vitamin C in megadoses administered before or after the appearance of cold and flu symptoms relieved and prevented the symptoms in the test population compared with the control group."
Do yourself a favor and just shut up already.

Actually, it is you who doesn't understand yet [Why do I even suggest the possibility of change by using the word "yet"?]. Linus Pauling and his researchers found out years ago that vitamin C + L-lysine + L-proline cures heart disease... heart disease, often considered the #2 killer. Why does this work? Because Pauling found that all heart disease really is, is a form of scurvy. And most people know from the severe scurvy in sailors who didn't get enough fresh fruit years ago, these bad cases of scurvy were cured by eating a lot of oranges. tash (facepalm) your body only needs a certain amount. your body does not store the rest for later. you pee out the rest so you advertising a certain product that pretends to be some "mega" thing thats 40x more potent than the body even needs. as for the other people dang it seems too many people think vitamin C is a miracle cure oh and by the way. heart disease is not just one thing heart disease is a category of things. yep the word disease just means bad health people can have many causes of heart problems for many things with many symptoms needing many differing medications. but all would come under the blanket and empty term of 'heart disease' meaning 'unhealthy heart' stupid people go around promoting snake oil and herbal remedies as if they are on commission.. even stupider people do it because they think they are doctors although never even attended a university. even stupider people promote it as if they have had first had experience yet they themselves have not. in short. if you actually want to grow some brain cells and morals and actually be helpful. dont just take the word of a page you read. actually learn it, research it, understand it, be critical of it. and actually truly learn things. dont just google something that pops up n google and think because google found it, it must be real/accurate dont take words out of context to fit a narrative like relieves/prevents symptoms. to then be twisted into it prevents and cures the underlying cause again cannabis does not cure cancer. it helps people cope better with the treatment so that they can fight harder and let the actual treatment do its job just wake up people and stop with all the mis information as its becoming stupidly obvious that some of you are either affiliated with herbal suppliment companies or probably trying to put a gamble on the price of citrus fruit commodities. and if it aint for any financial gain reasons. then it must be for boredom entertainment reasons. just grow up and try to learn a few things .. an no.. a picture of a steamroller will not make a website suddenly become medically legit
" Definition of prevention: the act of preventing or hindering" Vitamin C in megadoses administered before or after the appearance of cold and flu symptoms relieved and prevented the symptoms in the test population compared with the control group." [/quote] do you read your own words hindering. meaning that even "prevention" is not 100%. but it can halt, stop. not allow to get worse and again your missing the point of your own words SYMPTOMS so can you atleast take 5 minutes to rationally think inside your head does it say cure a virus ---- ill save you time, no does it say prevent a virus ----- ill save you time, no it says it about helping with the symptomsnext bit you need to learn is which symptoms because it does not say it prevent pneumonia because it doesnt say it prevents a cough or a runny nose or a groggy drained sleepy feeling so even you have to take some time and actually realise it does not state which particular symptom it helps with thus making your case even weaker but if you wanna overdose on vitamin C go ahead. i hope you also will enjoy getting the kidney stones that come along with it. now go play around on google and learn some more. and i dont mean just try finding a narrative that pleases you. find some research that has actual specific details and stick to the wording of the specific details. not your twisted narrative and on another note to the same particular group of people the other week talking about the wuhan airport. it was open and planes were flying including passenger planes. it was other countries not sending them. not wuhan declining entry wuhan actually tried to get WHO to tell the international community to actually send their planes. because they were open and ready

Summary of an informative article made by Ars Technica: Don’t Panic: The comprehensive Ars Technica guide to the coronavirusYou should be concerned and take this seriously. But you should not panic.
This is the mantra public health experts have adopted since the epidemic mushroomed in January—and it’s about as comforting as it is easy to accomplish. But it’s important that we all try.
This new coronavirus—dubbed SARS-CoV-2—is unquestionably dangerous. It causes a disease called COVID-19, which can be deadly, particularly for older people and those with underlying health conditions. While the death rate among infected people is unclear, even some current low estimates are seven-fold higher than the estimate for seasonal influenza.
And SARS-CoV-2 is here in the US, and it's circulating—we are only starting to determine where it is and how far it has spread. Problems with federal testing have delayed our ability to detect infections in travelers. And as we work to catch up, the virus has kept moving. It now appears to be spreading in several communities across the country. It’s unclear if we will be able to get ahead of it and contain it; even if we can, it will take a lot of resources and effort to do it.
All that said, SARS-CoV-2 is not an existential threat. While it can be deadly, around 80 percent of cases are mild to moderate, and people recover within a week or two. Moreover, there are obvious, evidence-based actions we can take to protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our communities overall.
Now is not the time for panic, which will only get in the way of what you need to be doing. While it’s completely understandable to be worried, your best bet to getting through this unscathed is to channel that anxious energy into doing what you can to stop SARS-COV-2 from spreading.
And to do that, you first need to have the most complete, accurate information on the situation as you can. To that end, below is our best attempt to address all of the questions you might have about SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19, and the situation in the US. Various countries underestimated the virus, and has spread beyond their control forcing them to increase measures but reacting too late. Here is another summary of an interesting article regarding the US from Bloomberg: Seattle’s Patient Zero Spread Coronavirus Despite Ebola-Style LockdownThe man who would become Patient Zero for the new coronavirus outbreak in the U.S. appeared to do everything right. He arrived Jan. 19 at an urgent-care clinic in a suburb north of Seattle with a slightly elevated temperature and a cough he’d developed soon after returning four days earlier from a visit with family in Wuhan, China.
The 35-year-old had seen a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention alert about the virus and decided to get checked. He put on a mask in the waiting room. After learning about his travel, the clinic drew blood and took nasal and throat swabs, and called state and county health officials, who hustled the sample onto an overnight flight to the CDC lab in Atlanta. The patient was told to stay in isolation at home, and health officials checked on him the next morning.
The test came back positive that afternoon, Jan. 20, the first confirmed case in the U.S. By 11 p.m., the patient was in a plastic-enclosed isolation gurney on his way to a biocontainment ward at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, Washington, a two-bed unit developed for the Ebola virus. As his condition worsened, then improved over the next several days, staff wore protective garb that included helmets and face masks. Few even entered the room; a robot equipped with a stethoscope took vitals and had a video screen for doctors to talk to him from afar.
County health officials located more than 60 people who’d come in contact with him, and none developed the virus in the following weeks. By Feb. 21, he was deemed fully recovered. Somehow, someone was missed.
All the careful medical detective work, it’s now clear, wasn’t enough to slow a virus moving faster than the world’s efforts to contain it. Yes its correct to calm people, panic leads nowhere. But the down players that imply that this is nothing more than just another flu, are causing more harm than good. Case in point, that Australian that went clubbing even after being diagnosed with COVID-19, probably following that internet trend to downplay the virus completely. In the meantime, even the UN Building in NY is getting closed... I think the Ars Technica article is good (do read it in its entirety). Do not underestimate this, but also do not panic and act accordingly. Another excerpt: - 88 percent had a fever
- 68 percent had a dry cough
- 38 percent had fatigue
- 33 percent coughed up phlegm
- 19 percent had shortness of breath
- 15 percent had joint or muscle pain
- 14 percent had a sore throat
- 14 percent headache
- 11 percent had chills
- 5 percent had nausea or vomiting
- 5 percent had nasal congestion
- 4 percent had diarrhea
- Less than one percent coughed up blood or blood-stained mucus
- Less than one percent had watery eyes
Remember that these symptoms take days to manifest, by the time you notice, you'd have to remember where you have been in the past week, where did you sneezed or coughed etc. Ideally people should avoid crowds and preferably going out until this quiets down.
