Marseille have been a disappointment so far. They actually made a really solid start to the season. They seemed unstoppable for a long time in their league matches. It was like they were caring about the league more than the Champions League. While everything was going on suddenly their form in the Ligue 1 started to drop sharply. They lost so many points in such a short time that it was hard to explain really. They were going to face really tough two teams right after all of this negativity. But they managed to defeat Monaco and Lyon both.

Maybe these huge and important wins can help them recover their old form. After a bad ending in the group stage of the Champions League they should be able to concentrate on their domestic league matches completely. But it is too difficult for them to close the gap up with PSG from now on. They would fight for finishing at the 2nd position just as they did last season.

Marseille was at the top of the table at the start of the season if I remember correctly. And by "top of the table” I mean neck and neck with PSG. Once their performance began to decline, they were unable to improve. The only positive thing that I can say about them is that they finished the club competition with two consecutive wins before the break of the World Cup. They had an amazing squad back then. There were really skilled young players and the harmony among them was very solid. They had Mbappe those times above all else. Messi, Mbappe, have no problems so far. however, it looks like Neymar's injury has not really fully recovered. and if Argentina wins vs Netherlands, Messi still has another match in this world cup. Likewise with Mbappe, if he wins the match against England, Mbappe still has other matches if he advances to the final. on the other hand, there are also PSG players who are still participating in this world cup tournament to defend their national team. In last season Monaco done good job and achieve third spot with just two points behind Marseille but in this season they are struggling with most chances they will come back in coming weeks but surely now few teams already done good job for the improvement in quality and performance of their teams which creating challenge for all top teams and Monaco have some big defeats like Marseille 2 - 3 and Lille 4 - 3 which give them setbacks and now after break they need to improvement which helps them for having good results and good spot as well even Lens is having nine points gape from them, but we can expect changes because still nearly 24 rounds available for having better results.

Now after break they are going to face Auxerre which is also in bad shape and right now struggling into relegation zone which will helps Monaco for having all three points in this match.

I agree with you that Paris Saint Germain have no equal in Ligue 1, the real competition for them is the Champions League. In fact, I can say they don't need to worry when they lose 1 or 2 players who have been a mainstay like Neymar for example. Because there are still other players who can cover the positions left behind if they do their Ligue 1 matches. I think the Champions League is their main target.

PSG don't have enough confidence in important matches and who is their captain? Their captain is Marcos Marquinhos and he is the heart of PSG defense. Honestly in many seasons, PSG lost their big advantages by conceding one, two or three goals very quickly. In World Cup, he made mistakes again and contributed to Brazil defeat.

Friendly matches cannot be used as a reference, because usually they also only try to make several strategies with players who are mostly not the main players. But apart from that, basically Nice is not a team that has high consistency every season, at least with Nice still being able to compete in the mid-table in Ligue 1, that is good enough for them.
You can check how Nice has been in the previous few seasons, at least Nice has only fluctuated in the top ten and is more precise in the five to ten positions.

Therefore, if Nice only loses in a friendly match I think that is still an okay result, because it is not certain that these bad results will continue to be experienced by Nice throughout the season.
