I'm not surprised because basically Nice is not a strong and consistent team, if we look at the many wins that the Nice team has had since the start of the season there is some element of luck because overall their performance in the match is not that impressive.

If you look at its performance, Lyon is actually in good condition because it has won matches in the last few weeks. Having your major striker out on injury can be so worrying and it could lead to the team getting some disappointing result.This was the case for Lyon who tried to maintain their good score and winning ratio but were met with a disappointing result to Lens. Lens are on a run to getting an European qualification and this result is a big boost for them in this current  season

 As for Lyon, this match isn’t a big deal as there are still plenty matches and they can sure get good results to keep them safe in the Ligue 1. With their main striker back to the team, I think they’ll be running riots again and back on their feet.Comparing Lens to Lyon for this season is quite awkward as Lens is doing real better than Lyon this season as you can see how they’re placed in the league standings. Lyon isn’t really having a great season as they’re quite unstable and not having a great time in the league though they’re still considered to be safe in the league

 So that’s to say that the result from the match against Lens wasn’t a big surprise as Lens proves to be a better team coupled with the injury worry for Lyon. Lyon getting back to winning ways is what’s key as that could be their only saving grace out of relegation zone as they’re barely 5 points away. Not ranking the other teams, I think Lyon are well placed to still remain in the league and compete next season.

A team like Nice will find it difficult to compete consistently in Ligue 1 from the start of the season to the end of the season because they often only play defensively and will try to maintain their lead if they are already leading 1-0 even though that is not a safe score at all and you can see the average on their match results were filled with low scores, making Nice the team in the top five with the fewest goals and also the fewest goals conceded, so slowly but surely they started to lose a lot of points and made their ranking drop.

Likewise with Brest, maybe they will stay in the top three to get tickets to play in the Champions League next season, but that is also because they are helped by the teams below them who appear inconsistent. Brest is one of the flashiest teams of this season. We will probably have the chance to watch them in the championship league next year. The transfers they will make for next year will show their power level to all of us. It seems they are scoring very few goals. They win many matches 1-0. They have only scored 35 goals in the league so far and are in second place. However, they are very good in the defense area. They need to protect this.

I am also one of the people who hopes that Nice can compete after seeing at the start of the season that they were so tough and solid. However, I can't see this going forward because at the same time as the competition progresses they are also decreasing and even now they are in 5th position, down 4 places from the position they occupied at the start of the season.
Their biggest problem lies in their attack line which is not unproductive. I have to admit that their defense line is very solid, even now they are the team that has conceded the fewest goals, which proves that their defense is very good. However, in football everything must be balanced, they cannot have a solid defense but not be balanced by a sharp attack line, because the result will be the same. Because in football to win they have to create more goals than the opponent can score, and Nice can't do that. If only they had a very sharp attack line, I'm sure they would still be in first place, or at least they would be in second place. But now we see a quite striking decline that they are showing.

Marseille is in 6th place in the standings and still needs lot of wins to improve its standings until this season competition ends.
It just that I also admit that Marseille performance in the last 3 matches was truly extraordinary, they won with big scores of 3 - 1, 4 - 1 and 5 - 1, this was truly victory that made all Marseille fans cheer with joy.
Maybe all of this is proof that Jean-Louis Gasset performance as coach has really produced satisfactory results and seeing all the players in these 3 matches really looks different from the previous few matches which were just draws and defeats.
Hopefully this will be good start for Marseille in the future by finishing the season and for the development of next season to be even better.

Honestly yeah, I believe there is a chance for Marseille to make it to the Champions League. Because if you have noticed Lille, Nice and Lens all don't have a very good form recently. If these teams continue to show performances like this Marseille would capture a big opportunity to go for at least the fourth position which would take them to qualification phase in the Champions League. 

There are 10 more weeks to go. This means a potential 30 points but I'm not saying it like Marseille would win all of their remaining games.    But collecting a solid amount would be very useful for them.

I think Enrique should already think about alternatives because Mbappe seems determined to leave. If he's not going to go, the offer made to him must be like a dream. In this case, team dynamics are disrupted and unrest occurs among other players. If Mbappe behaves towards the players like the team owner, no one in the team can play the way they want. Such a performance from Nice was expected. Even the surprising thing is how this team kept the second place in the points table for a long time! Because the performance of Nice's attacking players was very poor. They could not score more than one or two goals in a match. The team was undefeated for a long time only because of the strong defense. But now the Nice team has lost the truck very badly. They are consistently defeated. Along with attacking players, Nice's defenders also performed poorly.

My guess was that we would see the Monaco team in second place in the table. But Brest's performance has been very stable this season. Teams when a season start tend to show that they’re a good team whereas there’s no improvement at all in the team and they can’t be able to maintain the wins and get good records. A team that wants to maintain wins and get good records must learn how to invest greatly in the team. Investment comes as a form of recruiting key players for very key positions and also getting an experienced coach who can be able to build and work ok the key experienced players. Well this is what most small teams fail to get right and that’s why when they start the season well it’s always hard for them to keep up.

 This is the story of Nice whom many thought will be a big challenge to PSG. In addition to PSG there seems to be no team in Ligue1 that is indeed safe enough to step into the Champions League next season, Brest when occupying the second rank as well as Monaco who are ranked 3rd also cannot be sure to get one of the two remaining tickets this season, because in my opinion there is still a possibility of changes that occur in the standings throughout the rest of the current matches,  Bres and Monaco form is quite good because they have been able to have a fairly consistent season but I think there will be a lot of challenges for them to test their consistency towards the end of the seson.

At the moment Brest and Monaco have a small difference in points from the teams below them and I think the chances of teams like Nice, Lens and Lille are certainly still very open in trying to take the position of these two teams, the experience of last season should actually be a lesson for Monaco when they at the beginning of the season was quite consistent but in the end they often achieved bad results when the season was about to end.
 As for Brest, I dare not say if they can stay all season in the second tier because after all there will still be cCrucial matches that they have to face with teams in the top 6 in the next few weeks, so the possibility of a change of position is very likely and lens, lille and also nice will Certainly take advantage of these conditions to improve their position in the table.

I agree that Marseille has a chance, but at the same time I feel like do they even deserve it? I feel like there are so many teams in ligue 1 that did well enough for a few seasons but didn't capitalize on it and didn't get any better. Marseille is one of those teams, they did well for a while and then they did nothing afterwards, makes no sense to me at all.

I think the better judgement would be just focusing on what teams who when given a chance could do better. Look at Lyon as the biggest example, they won seven in a row, and did nothing with that, they were almost getting relegated, maybe they still could. Teams that capitalize on their wins and successful seasons would be what this league needs, not just taking the money and leave.

Although for now I think Marseille has just a little chance of qualifying for the champions League because between them Lille, Lens and Nice they has the lowest points on the table so even if they will scale through is gonna take them a lot of time to beat them but for now Lille may likely stay on the fourth position for a while because they will not face too much challenges on most of there coming matches, so for now considering the performance of Marseille and there points I think they will better off qualifying for the Europa League because there points is still low to compete with Lille, Nice and Lens on the champions League qualifier.

Marseille still has the chance of qualifying for a European competition. They have had two straight wins and might move to at least fourth position if they win their next three games but this movement will be determined by the results of other top teams. Rennes might not be a top team but they are not doing badly in the league. Although they lost their last games against Lorient before then they have had six wins and two draws in eight games in Ligue One including a draw with the league leaders PSG. So I doubt if Marseille will have a cheap win against Rennes, they would have to work hard to get a win. Nantes might be an easier side to defeat but we have to note that nothing is certain in football.
