Absolutely true and that's what I've observed so far. Nice can only be strong defensively and when they score goals they are not as productive as other top teams. What's the point of being strong defensively but lacking goal contributions and in my opinion that will just be a time bomb where the team will experience bad results because there is no progress. Nice could only survive without putting forward proper competition and they were knocked out without realizing what they had gone through.

Second place will be a fierce struggle for Brest and Monaco because there is no team that can compete with PSG and at least these two teams will be guaranteed a place in the Champions League without having to go through the playoffs. Teams when a season start tend to show that they’re a good team whereas there’s no improvement at all in the team and they can’t be able to maintain the wins and get good records. A team that wants to maintain wins and get good records must learn how to invest greatly in the team. Investment comes as a form of recruiting key players for very key positions and also getting an experienced coach who can be able to build and work ok the key experienced players. Well this is what most small teams fail to get right and that’s why when they start the season well it’s always hard for them to keep up.

 This is the story of Nice whom many thought will be a big challenge to PSG. They started the season excellently and were even in top position but at a time slipped up and many thought they wouldn’t go beyond 3rd. Well right mow they’re lurking around 5th and it’s because they haven’t been able to get wins to help them come up the log. Brest who’re currently 2nd are having a better time than Nice and that’s evident because you can see how they’ve managed to remain unbeaten in over 13 games in the league so far. This is one characteristics of a serious team ready to fight for a good spot in the league.

 I also think Monaco has what it takes to overtake Brest and they’ll sure make it happen as I don’t see Brest being able to hold up for long. Monaco have got the quality and experience to overtake Brest and it’s sure of happening. Nice going to an European tournament would have to learn how to score goals because this is one major challenge of the squad as they’re defending greatly but having issues scoring the goals to get the wins and I think they need to work on that of they want to achieve anything.

With 14 games remaining of course all possibilities can happen including Marseille ending the season in the Champions League zone, Marseille biggest chance to go to the Champions League is still open if if they can consistently win and hope Monaco can drop points in their matches, currently Monaco is the 3rd team in Ligue 1 and Marseille has the closest distance to Monaco at the moment with only 6 points,  Although fairly close but still all possibilities can happen Lens, Lille and Nice are also eyeing the last ticket to the Champions League at this time, but actually the chances of the 4 teams to be in the Champions League next season are as great as Marseille, Lille, Lens and Nice will still meet in the next few weeks.

In addition to PSG there seems to be no team in Ligue1 that is indeed safe enough to step into the Champions League next season, Brest when occupying the second rank as well as Monaco who are ranked 3rd also cannot be sure to get one of the two remaining tickets this season, because in my opinion there is still a possibility of changes that occur in the standings throughout the rest of the current matches,  Bres and Monaco form is quite good because they have been able to have a fairly consistent season but I think there will be a lot of challenges for them to test their consistency towards the end of the seson.

At the moment Brest and Monaco have a small difference in points from the teams below them and I think the chances of teams like Nice, Lens and Lille are certainly still very open in trying to take the position of these two teams, the experience of last season should actually be a lesson for Monaco when they at the beginning of the season was quite consistent but in the end they often achieved bad results when the season was about to end.
 As for Brest, I dare not say if they can stay all season in the second tier because after all there will still be cCrucial matches that they have to face with teams in the top 6 in the next few weeks, so the possibility of a change of position is very likely and lens, lille and also nice will Certainly take advantage of these conditions to improve their position in the table.

Look at Lyon as the biggest example, they won seven in a row, and did nothing with that, they were almost getting relegated, maybe they still could. Teams that capitalize on their wins and successful seasons would be what this league needs, not just taking the money and leave.

They have had two straight wins and might move to at least fourth position if they win their next three games but this movement will be determined by the results of other top teams. Although they lost their last games against Lorient before then they have had six wins and two draws in eight games in Ligue One including a draw with the league leaders PSG. So I doubt if Marseille will have a cheap win against Rennes, they would have to work hard to get a win. Maintaining consistency is not an easy thing if the Nice players do not have the motivation to continue to improved their performances, so they do not only rely on defensive strategies but they also have to maximize attack so as not to lose balance when they face a club that is quite strong in attacking, now Nice position are increasingly being move to 5th place because of their poor result in the last few match where they failed to get even 1 wins in the last 5 matches. The two clubs you mentioned Marseille and Lyon are popular clubs who experienced bad times at the start of the season but have made positive improvements and managed to continue adding points to be in the best position in the points table.
Talking about this opportunity, it could happen because if we look deeper, the club that has managed to reach its best position at the moment is actually making consistent improvements, while the club that is currently at the top has experienced a slight decline in performance and if Marseille really wants to get a ticket to the Champions League in next season, Marseille just needs to be consistent to continue adding points slowly and shift the clubs above them.

I think the problem is not the budget to buy new players because in my opinion why Marseille playing with not consistent this season is because the fault is came from the owner of Marseille themself because they choose Genarro Gattuso as the replacement of Ivan Juric and we all know as a manager Gattuso career is not really good and he was often to sacked when handle the particular teams so some of fans were doubt Gattuso can be the right manager for Marseille and it just happend now that Marseille owner have to sacked him immediately because Marseille under Gattuso have no significant progress and now Marseille are in danger of not being able to play in the champions league according to their initial target this season

Just like i said previously Marseille under new manager has slightly good progress because they can able to gets 3 winning streak in all competitions and this week Marseille has tight schedules because in Europa league today they will facing Villarreal for round of 16 even so in Ligue 1 because Marseille will playing as a host against Nantes and let see it later whether Marseille can able to resumes their positive results from those matches or they will return to be unstable again

Marseille remained at average success in the league this year. They are in 7th place and 19 points away from the leader. They are 10 points away from Brest, which is in second place. The top spot in the French league belongs to PSG alone. There is no team that will perform better than them this year. It is also a pleasure to watch PSG in France.

I think Enrique should already think about alternatives because Mbappe seems determined to leave. If he's not going to go, the offer made to him must be like a dream. In this case, team dynamics are disrupted and unrest occurs among other players. If Mbappe behaves towards the players like the team owner, no one in the team can play the way they want. I agree and I think him and the PSG chairman have already started to think about an alternative player to Mbappe. Until the last minutes when Mbappe moved to another team and signed a contract officially with that team, I think there is still the chance to say Mbappe can even stay in PSg for a longer time.
Currently, all the big and great people in Qatar and PSG owners are trying hard to don't lose this player, even the Prince of Qatar tried to have this place in PSG and talked to him in person but he didn't change his mind.
However, the story with PSG and Mbappe is long and there is still the chance to stay there otherwise Enrique can think about alternative players.

Winning the champions league with PSG will be a deteming factor that could convince the French striker to remain in th club. But it's seems the chances of  Klyrian Mbappé signing a new contract is slim because he affirmed that he is having problem with the club leadership. After an impressive performance in the UCL where he scored a brace over Real Sociedad , the club will be willing to  keep him but there is more work to be done to motivate him stay. PSG would have to break the bank to satisfy his desire for more money and I am sure the club is not willing to do that.

The coach is already preparing for Mbappé's exist after he was substituted early during the games with Monaco and Rennes. The club is hoping to bring in a quality striker who will be cheaper and also wants to grow young players who will contribute to the team. The club seems not to be ready to splash money on any expensive striker.
