In my opinion bitcoin is becoming a global currency and definitely more people are interested to know about it.
The reason bitcoin is becoming more and more global is the price of fiat differencing from country to country.

Just to give an example if you live in LA or mainly silicon valley and you are a software developer you get paid 100k yearly, but if you live in a third world country and you are a software developer you may get as low as 10k a year and maybe even less in some countries. Tough your living standard stays the same , what costs 10k in SV costs 1k in the other country. So if you work for a company in SV and get paid Bitcoin and live in the third world country now you are living with 100k but spend only 10k .

Bitcoin makes the world you know a lot smaller thanks to small fees and less government involvement.

We just have to wait mate, bitcoin is not that popular in the world, in due time we can see a massive adoption and that will totally happen in the future. Now, is just an investment time and with the support of the new comers we will create a huge community that would attract the investors to integrate bitcoin as their payment system.

Everyone who has not been living under a rock for the past 8 years may have heard the global economy is still stuck in a financial crisis. Even though the latest “banking crash” occurred back in 2008, the ramifications are still present this very day. The most straightforward – and utterly difficult – solution would be to come up with a way to enable free competition of non-state currencies. Bitcoin would be a prime candidate for this concept, as this borderless currency can be used everywhere in the world in the same manner, as well as be exchanged for all major local currencies.

It is very reasonably for many governments to support the bitcoin. It is too small at the moment for it to be noticeable.

Bitcoin will never be a global currency because you can't tax it.

In most jurisdictions, governments don't need to tax Bitcoin specifically, you just calculate an income earned and pay an income tax based on these calculations. Whether you are going to include earnings from Bitcoin operations in the said calculations is another matter. But this in no case exempts you from the obligation of paying taxes on this kind of income...

If you get caught for tax evasion, you will be penalized as usual

That is right. When the bitcoin is recognised as a currency which can be used to pay taxes, then it is treated the same as other fiat.

if you play it well, then you can basically keep your income from trading bitcoin hidden from the government for a very long time. the main problem is that the government shouldn't be forcing an exchange to release information about you. because you'll surely get burned as the exchange can't deny the government and tell them to back off. that's also a reason for me to use btc-e as they don't require you to verify yourself in order to start trading there. it means that this exchange doesn't have any of my personal details.

No one is arguing that Bitcoin is a "tax haven" of sorts. My point was totally different, though. Since it is considered as your obligation to faithfully report your income, you have to solve this moral dilemma for yourself...

That is, to pay or not to pay, to evade or not to evade

I do not think so. It will take at least 5 to 10 years for the bitcoin to be a global currency. We need at least 10 million active users.

5 to 10 years is a very short estimate for a massive adoption to happen, actually right now I can say that it is already a global currency as wherever we are we can always use bitcoin as a currency as long as there is an internet in the area, banks are their that partners with the exchange sites in the area, so it would be easy for us to transact.

In a few years bitcoin will be the most popular currency in the world
I think it would sound impossible. in this world there are a lot of currencies of different countries with huge potential. bitcoin currency is small with a few users? I'm not sure a few more years bitcoin will become a global currency. unless someday bitcoin have users who reach the entire human

Bitcoin will be used by many people in future but it doesn't make it as an global currency as the usage of bitcoin is limited and most of the population is not aware about bitcoin yet.
I think that might happen? no one can predict correctly in the future. people have said that it is impossible bitcoin could touch $ 1,000 but bitcoin can do. and now there may be a lot of people who say that it is impossible to become a global currency bitcoin? but we will not know what will happen in the future

Both that you have mentioned have happen already, we have reach the price of more than $1,000 few years back and it is not impossible to happen again as we have already achieve that, and about global currency, I believe it is already a global currency as it is already known in the entire world and we are connecting with bitcoin.

The $1200 price achieved in late November 2013 does not count. That was a very big bubble and caused two years of bear market.
