I hope things will work out for Donaire and he shrugs off his loss against Inoue, it's hard to make a comeback coming from that devastating loss, this is a surprise replacement for Moloney there are circumstances that late replacement pulls out a surprise, like what happened to Pacquiao against Ledwaba.
I know Donaire still has it, I still see the speed and the offense against Inoue it's just the wrong strategy that backfired I'm sure his camp will not let this happen again, I just want to see Donaire going into retirement with a title he deserves it for what he has brought to the boxing community.

One thing that causes losses to Donaire is he has this attitude of being too confident that he will have a strong advantage over his opponent which happens to be his weakness. He sometimes underestimates his opponents without considering their strengths in the ring. I think that's something that he should change. He must know his opponent's strengths first and learn how to counter them or else he will end up losing again. I hope his previous losses would serve him a lesson and be better this time.

I think Nonito Donaire had already moved on from the devastating lost against Inoue.  If you can see, Nonito is way more eager to get another title even planning to move down in the weight category in order to bag another title.

I know Donaire still has it, I still see the speed and the offense against Inoue it's just the wrong strategy that backfired I'm sure his camp will not let this happen again, I just want to see Donaire going into retirement with a title he deserves it for what he has brought to the boxing community.

Donaire somehow slow down but still faster than any other boxer in his weight class.  The scheduled opponent is way weaker than Inoue, so I think Nonito Donaire has more chance of winning fighting Santiago than Moloney so I think this is a lucky break for Donaire once again.

The news just came out about a championship fight in the bantamweight division. We were worried that we might not be able to see Donaire fight soon when his last fight was cancelled. However, this new championship match has been announced and we will get to see him fight soon. Although the specific date has not been released yet, it will be announced soon for sure
Not sure if Donaire can still keep up with young guns but I'm rooting for him to win this match between Santiago. I think Santiago is a decent fighter and now that he's in his prime compare to an ageing Donaire I think the chance for him to beat one of the greatest was likely 60/40.
That's always the problem when an old fighter will fight against a younger one.

Same with Pacquiao when he's at his post-prime years already. Many are thinking on how he can keep up with his younger opponents. He may not beat them by TKO, but he can still win thru decision. I will not say that Donaire is the same as Pacquiao, but I guess Donaire still have the stamina and the power to fight against younger boxers.

I can't find any highlights of his opponent on Youtube though, but with 14 KO's out of 27 wins from Santiago, I might bet that this will end up in a decision and if that happens, I just don't know if Donaire can last up to 12 rounds.

I don't think so, on the other hand, his opponents are the one underestimating him and thinks that he is already old and they are confident that they are going to beat him. But they are all wrong because Donaire can still fight and pull that left hook. It's that Donaire really faces Inoue as his prime and so he is knockout. Some of his losses are very close and one when he went and go one way up and completely destroys by a taller Nicolas Walters. So I haven't seen Donaire throughout his career very overconfident.

It is a psychology thing. It boosts someone's confidence and nothing is wrong with that instead of hesitating or thinking negatively. He won't be fighting at that age if not for that mindset. Of course, he knows his opponent's strength as watching previous matches is a common thing to do for his team. You know, losing is quite normal. You can't always have things you wanted even if you are fully prepared. Anyway, I'm also rooting for Donaire here.

And just to be pump up of Nonito's fight, I watch the highlights of him against the trash talking Wilfredo Vasquez Jr when then fought for the super bantamweight belt of Vasquez that time and he is confident that he can beat the Filipino Flash because he says he is too powerful for Nonito. But he went down from Donaire's hook and Nonito winning the belt. So yes, majority of us here are going to root for Donaire to make another history. If I'm not mistaken, this will be his third overall reign as bantamweight champion.

If he wins, yes. A good way to be pumped up is that. I don't even need the popular streaming service, just in social media Donaire's highlights are scattered all over sports pages, especially the ones that cover boxing and fighting pages.

Anyway, I don't really think this will be a hard task for him if he is in his prime. But now that he is older, the weight of the match might not be that far from Alejandro Santiago. If the opponent will have a good strategy like using the time to his advantage then it might become a different ending. Donaire might want to preserve his stamina here or he could finish it quickly since older boxers have more punching power.

Eventhough Donaire lost on his last fight still it doesn't mean his career already ends, he's still capable winning on other what we think stronger opponent and I'm sure he knows that since he is in control on his conditioning so provably he's confident about betting Santiago on their match up. To many fans still rotting for his success despite of what failure he encounter since many want him to retire in good shape. Although he's speed decrease as we see on last Inoue match but still he have solid counter punch which can be his advantage to his opponent.

No, I don't think Donaire losses his power and speed if we are based on it, in his last fight against Inoue, he just got caught by Inoue's power punches, be he still has those speed and skill.
Honestly, I recommend that Donaire retire lose or win, if he wins he'll have a graceful exit and that's the best time, he already set records and he wins another title at his age, his time is very limited he may not be unlucky after this wins old age always caught boxers and Donaire is not an exception.

We didn't see his power in his last fight, which was way different compared to his previous fights. But maybe that's because Inoue is just a special fighter; he's so good that he could dominate anyone. Also, I believe that Inoue has already studied Donaire's fighting style because he almost lost in their first meeting. However, Donaire is now fighting a different opponent, so we'll most probably see the power that we're talking about in this fight.

That's guaranteed. The fact that Santiago does not have the KO power of Inoue means this fight might last longer if Donaire does not knock out Santiago. We all know that Donaire is still hungry for a win; he wants to be at the top again. And now that Inoue is not a hindrance anymore, he will certainly not waste this opportunity to come back at the top.

I am rooting for Donaire as well, I knew that he has still the capability to win this fight and we all know that Santiago is not so good as Inoue who won between him and Donaire so we can expect and we can see the more possibility that this time Donaire can bring us a the win that we are waiting, it is just that I think he need to work with his speed and agility, yes we knew everyone is getting older but that is the skill he needs to improve because if not being not so fast in boxing is not a good thing.

He still has that speed; he just looked weak because Inoue was very strong when they met. Now, he will be facing an average fighter, so there's no pressure on his part, and Donaire's chance to win here is very high. Alejandro Santiago has not won by KO since last year, so I assume that he is not really a KO artist, unlike Donaire, who can KO his opponent if his clean counterpunch hits.

Perfect opportunity for Donaire to bounce back and rise to the top again, so probably this will not be his last match if the result is a win.
KO might not be the option for both boxer, they should focus more on stay good through out the round and make sure to punch more and have a clear punch.
Donaire will be more aggressive for sure, and prove that age is just a number here. Santiago is young, but Donaire is wild at his age.

Donaire should not let the match go the distance, Santiago is young and he can get a second or third wind in the course of the fight, and Donaire is quite old he may gas out and will have a hard time getting a third wind, I'm not saying that Donaire should knock him out right away, but he should find angles and do counter punches as he did against Graballo and Oubaali.
I'm seeing Donaire finishing Santiago via a left hook or body punch unless Santiago prefers to avoid this.

The best thing about Donaire is he still has that power though his speed has already slightly decreased, he can still pull out and beat Santiago with his power punches combinations. I think Donaire still wants to be in the boxing industry for a long because he can still earn big money with his fights. Maybe he still wants to fight more before going to retired and planning to conclude his career and live his life with his family privately.

Every fighter have to be confident on themselves. They shouldn't show any weakness even if it's just for words because that can lessen their confidence in the eyes of the opponent.

It's normal to say that a boxer will win against his opponent and it's not just Donaire that have that strong confidence to say that he's got the advantage to their fights.

This is like the last chance for him because if someone losses consecutively, that will lose him more opportunity if he keeps on getting lose and that's why I want him to win on this one.

Anyway how you can be sure this will be the last fight for Donaire?
Probably because of his age but no official statement yet from Donaire or either form his team maybe they are still focus on the up coming match of Donaire.
If Donaire will lose on this match, then it will be hard for him to recover and maybe this will be his last match because he is no longer capable of winning.
We'll see from the result of this and hope that Donaire will retire with a win, that can be a good pride to the Filipino community.

The truth would be a shame if Donaire retires, I don't want that, even though he is the typical example that age is a number, if that's what you say, it would be his farewell fight to do it with a good win and maybe he wants to doing like Pacman, that he only dedicates himself to exhibition fights and that's good because he capitalizes, in the end they should stay in the middle of boxing, because in their lifetime they don't know how to do another better thing except that, even in exhibition fights or organizing them, because what else can they do? at least Pacquiao likes politics a bit, although there he did get a knockout.

Nonito Donaire's speed has deteriorated somehow.  He is not as quick as when he was young.  But I think his current speed can still make him win a fight.  Inoue is just a monster, heavy puncher, high ring IQ, Inoue is just better at all aspects against Donaire though I wonder if the prime Donaire had met Inoue, I think the result would be the other way around.

With his current opponent for the incoming fight, I believe Nonito has the advantage against Alejandro Santiago.  The latter is not as deadly as Inoue though I think Nonito will need to be serious and never underestimate Santiago.  Nonito Donaire must be fully prepared and fully conditioned else, we might see an upset here.
