That's what we need to see in this upcoming fight, will Donaire still have the stamina to last 12 rounds? I am rooting for Donaire here, as the experience itself will give him the advantage over his opponent. However, we don't know if Donaire can still last long if the fight will go the distance. If he is up to his game, he can last long. But even if his mind wants it but sometimes the body will show if he is indeed up for it. But who knows, he can easily beat Santiago as this may be the last hurrah of his boxing career before retirement?
Donaire can last up to 12 rounds if we talk about facing Santiago. I don't really mind his stamina here. Again, if Donaire will struggle in this fight, no room for him to stay at 118 and just hang his gloves. I do see that Donaire will win this fight as he's facing a not ranked boxer here. Not degrading Santiago here but there's no big achievement yet he did even though he's currently at the peak of his career.

In this case, he can still show his skills and promote his next fight with lots of sales because we all know, he still has that flash speed and huge power when it comes to kinds of opponents like Santago. It's really hard for Donaire to retire because as of today, there is no Filipino boxer who is more famous than him who is still active because others are just a bunch of still climbing the ladder. He worked hard to get to where he is right now and to fully use it to his advantage until the end, it's just one of the wisest decisions in his life that he could ever make. Maybe he still can fight for another 3 or 4 fights if he easily wins this one.

Most people been saying that he's getting old, yes its true but he do still have that firepower and speed.Although it might not be still the same compared into those old prime days but still he could still give a good damn shot and jabs that could knock down in todays opponent. There's still no word about retirement or whatsoever. They would really be planning on getting belts into the division on where Inoue had left. If they do still able to dominate out that division and acquire several belts on that line up then retiring might be in mind but i do still doubt on that considering that Donaire do really comes for the glory and not for money mainly.

Records alone are in favor of Donaire, but in terms of potential as an underdog lots are betting on Santiago. Though it is still unclear, but surely enough when the odds are out it'll be in favor of Donaire. Fans are also anxious about this announcement since there are already speculations that he will retire if lose this fight. Some even says that due to his age, it'll be a big problem for him. But personally I would like him to fight for more and will be supporting him. His fight against Inoue is really a glimpse of him hitting his limits, so I hope it'll clear everyone's minds if ever he'll win this fight.

That's in favor of us gamblers who are going to bet for Donaire if suddenly the lines will change if ever there are more bettors for Santiago. I mean, they should balance it and give out some profits for all who will bet for Donaire. I don't think he will retire just yet. I can see that he still feels like a young boxer even today and even had the guts to challenge Moloney for the WBC title. But I guess both boxers are trying to go the easy way to take the belt. Moloney dodges the fight or it's Donaire, it doesn't matter but I do believe these two will try to meet to unite the belts.

We are speculating again, of course. He will not retire, as he has not mentioned retirement yet. Though his age is considered old but the way he fights shows he still has the heart of a champion. His upcoming fight will prove the doubters wrong. It may not be against a major challenger, but a good win will always attract the attention of the crowd. Therefore, I'm optimistic that he'll win via knockout.

There aren't many doubters here for Donaire; in fact, I believe that the majority of us are counting on him to beat Santiago. If he were up against Moloney, the challenge might be tougher, but in this case, Donaire is listed as the favorite to win, so he is likely to emerge victorious. Therefore, I'm optimistic that he'll win via knockout.
That's what everyone is expecting, as Donaire is known to be a knockout artist. If he can't KO Santiago, then he'll be in trouble and might lose on the judges' scorecards.

Maybe we just have to wait and be patience, let's not preempt everything for Donaire, if he feels that he wants to retire then so be it. As fans, we wanted to see him fight, but in any case that he decided to hang his gloves depending on the result of the fight, then we will support him for sure. Right now, let's just enjoy this fight and bet according to whoever we see will win here.

Yes you are right that mate donaire will be the favorite of this fight as we all know that donaire have the advantages than Alejandro Santiago but I didn't say that this fight is a easy win by donaire as we all know the capability and strategy of Alejandro Santiago he is a good boxer and for sure he brings a good fight against donaire. Old but still a champion, that's what's going to happen to him after this fight. He can retire as a champ or try to fight challengers to keep his belt, which would help him earn more money while he is still active. When it comes to retirement, there are only a few opportunities for fighters. One is the exhibition fight, but he'll not make a lot of money with exhibition fights compared to a real fight. Personally, I would not speculate too much. I just want to witness Donaire fight again and remain hopeful that he'll win.

Perhaps we will find out about it after his fight with Alejandro Santiago so we have to be patient about it. If he wins, there's a bigger chance he will continue, in my opinion. Power makes people hunger for more so he will sit on that throne as long as he can still fight. Recent news was only about his father training Gaballo for the WBC eliminator against Nawaphon Kaikanha and whoever wins will meet the champion. So if Donaire wins, he will fight with Gaballo again, and this will be hot because of all the issues against his father. I doubt Donaire Jr. will just pass this up, as a way to prove to his father something, whatever their issues are. Money, leaving, an ungrateful son, against his wife. If Donaire loses, they won't meet but the same goes for Gaballo.

Yes without a adoubt Donaire is an old veteran champion as we all know that he is very good in counter punches which is when he found a good timing then his opponent will be surprise if he can do a quick counter punch that make his opponent realize that is still a champion that can break the goals of his challengers. And for this fight as we can see and compare the statistics between these two fighters we can say that donaire is in the lead but nonito must be more vigilant as we all know that Alejandro is not just a easy opponent.

^ Alejandro Santiago does not have a KO punch though which Donaire could really win despite him being older.
The one thing that's good about retiring while being a champ is that he is going to be remembered being a champ while if he retires while being beaten badly inside the ring, he will be remembered with his bloody face.

Probably the reason why he's fighting Santiago despite him saying (or rumors spreading) that he's going to retire after his last fight with Naoya. He doesn't want to be remembered as the guy who lost and then retired, and so do most boxers in my opinion so he's taking a jab at the possibility of bagging another win and another title before finally retiring. This kind of tactic is pretty common in the boxing industry particularly with boxers that have light to severe acclaim and public traction like Donaire. He wants to prove that he's not washed up and his age is not gonna stop him from getting this bag and the belt so he's taking the step to win against Santiago. Despite not having a KO punch i don't think Santiago's gonna go down easily against Donaire. He has the speed, and he also packs a punch though not as heavy as the ones Donaire throw. I think this is going to be a great fight win or lose for Donaire.

^ Alejandro Santiago does not have a KO punch though which Donaire could really win despite him being older.
The one thing that's good about retiring while being a champ is that he is going to be remembered being a champ while if he retires while being beaten badly inside the ring, he will be remembered with his bloody face.
If we do tend to look up Santiagos record; Out of 27 wins he does have 17 KO which is 40% https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/637333We cant really say that he wont really be having that KO punch since we know that if this one isnt a heavy hitter but doesnt mean that a solid precise punch couldnt really put up some serious damage which would result into KO.Therefore, getting that confident is never been that a good idea.

Yes, definitely there are perks of retiring as a champion though, but one thing is for sure, they still want to fight so we don't know if Donaire is going to consider to retire win or lose. And if there are fighters who retire as a champion, maybe there's one compelling reason about it, maybe it's health or someone close to them says it's time to stop or even a death of a love one. But in Donaire case, we haven't heard any, although it was ask before but he didn't give a definite answer about retiring. So this is a go and we want him to be a champion again.

He may not be as heavy hitter like Inoue, I agree that a well timed loaded punch on weak parts can KO any boxer. and besides, boxing isn't won only by KO or stoppage. If Santiago can produce quality volume punches, I think there is a huge possibility for Donaire to lose especially if Donaire try to 1 punch KO his opponent and failed to do so. There are fights where Donaire admit that he wanted to 1 punch KO his opponent and failed resulting in a lost. So if that same thing happen on the upcoming fight, there is even more possibility that Donaire will probably lose .

^ Sounds right but I think Santiago may not have a knockout punch, he could still pose a challenge to Donaire with his speed and agility in the ring. Probably, Donaire's experience and skill could give him the edge in this fight, even despite his age. He has proven time and time again that he is a force to be reckoned with, and his ability to adapt to his opponents' styles makes him a formidable opponent. What in my mind could be Donaire's legacy as a champion is already secured. Retiring as a champion is a great accomplishment, and it ensures that he will always be remembered as a top athlete in the sport of boxing.

Donaire will not get a that far for nothing also despite of his age we can still say he's still capable to beat up his opponent. His past defeat to Inoue is not indicate that he's totally done with his career because he's old and slow. He's still a dangerous counter puncher which can give him a good shot to defeat his opponent and if he win against Santiago maybe he will get more fights after this. But if he lost this maybe a call for retirement might be called out to him since this is what other people expect to happen.
