Guys it was just pointed out to me that we're lagging a bit on our subreddit and I agree with the sentiment. We would really appreciate it if anybody here could pull some attention over at http://www.reddit.com/r/XBC/ and be proctive over there. I'll start adding all my announcements over there as well in the meantime.

Priority one by far in my opinion is the new wallet. That will fix the 1200 confirms issue with polo and allow
the coin to be listed on Mintpal. Everything else is secondary. But if there are multiple people working then
no reason not to complete multiple tasks at once.

Keep up the good work!

hey guys, just added a paper/brain/bulk wallet generator to the explorer site

you can access it here
http://xbc.blockx.info/wallets

it's javascript based so the addresses are generated from your browser.

I made 2 versions of the paper wallets for print outs

Normal

Encrypted

I hope you guys like it Smiley

tips are welcome: B8cLJ7NYgxi92G7KzfGX3idtaKjuXZW6GB

These devs rock. I've been burned by countless devs on countless coins so I'm looking for a change there... I hope this is one that can be a serious coin with a longterm outlook steered by competent folks and a solid community. I'm in for the long haul and thank you all for your continuing hard work.

Alright everybody here's what you've all been waiting for. I had to push the website off a little bit to get things situated - that will be live later in the day (EST)

Coin Destruction

We are going to send the remainder of the funds not issued to the public (less 1400 to Busoni - He will verify the address) to an address generated using the same method Novacoin used to destroy their pre mined coins. This method creates an address that passes sanity checks in the wallet while using a valid hash which makes the public key invalid. Even if anybody were to brute force the private key, that will still be invalid - The coins in this wallet are permanently unrecoverable.

Here is how the coins are getting destroyed. Feel free to follow these steps yourself to verify the method: (Taken from Novacoin, byte sequenced changed to match XBC -- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=144158.0)

1) We used the hash of an obviously made up public key. This means the difficulty would be in even finding a public key with such a hash, much less finding the corresponding private key

2) To create the valid non-redeemable address for destroying coins, we will use this online address generator: http://gobittest.appspot.com/Address

Using this byte sequence as public key to return invalid: (Section 1 - Public ECDSA Key)

0800000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Enter this line to "Public ECDSA Key" field and press "Send" button - This will return the error "Invalid public key length". After this you need to set the correct address version. Go down to section 4 and edit the first byte of "Adding network bytes to 3" field, set it to 19 (First two characters). I.e. final value of "Adding network bytes to 3" will be

19B472A266D0BD89C13706A4132CCFB16F7C3B9FCB

Now you can press "Send" button and get the XBC address used for destroying the coins, which corresponds to invalid public key.

This address will be forever invalid (while still passing the client's sanity check) and the coins will always be unrecoverable

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will record my desktop throughout the process to make sure everything is documented meticulously and post to youtube -- I will also plug the numbers that appear for me above and you will be able to verify with 100% certainty these coins are lost forever.

The destruction address is: BLuCaBUaSANZZ3Z9R7JzZJRT6wwhc9VxuG

http://xbc.blockx.info/get/address/BLuCaBUaSANZZ3Z9R7JzZJRT6wwhc9VxuG
TX: http://xbc.blockx.info/get/tx/1b168017d4e8c0d16b946068c5e956ccee1d8e1909ca0118d579a4e351120928#o1
http://xbc.blockx.info/richlist/ - click "View More Stats" - scroll down to see the destroyed coins.

They have been destroyed, as of now there are a grand total of 55,350.01 XBC in circulation.

Generating the address: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqYtvmVho-w
Sending the coins  Grin : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsw6rzNT4Iw

I see somebody sent 0.1 XBC to the destruction wallet  Roll Eyes send to our community development fund instead, address in my sig.   Smiley

UPDATE - Remaining 1400 coins will be sent to busoni@poloniex.
Address: BG24FkmmGwNCKhUT8846A53xR8RTPdRnt4

It's nice to see a real Pro dev team compared to some (all?) of the other coins out recently.

There is a lot of potential here.

- Nearly 50% of coins being destroyed as per community vote
- CMC listing likely this weekend - when Gliss gets back to the comp Tongue
- Website being developed and improved
- New wallet being released leading to listings on exchanges like Mintpal and Cryptsy.
- Backing of a significant portion of the Poloniex community
- Still low market cap with large upside

And etc....etc...

Excellent job on the destruction. Thank you so much for your hard work. The way this coin and it's devs and community are shaping up, your rewards will come in this life.  Grin and ours too  Tongue
Looking forward to the web page and wallet.
Hoping people who have will HODL and people who have not will get in there before it's too late. Amazing how many hesitated at 0.001  Sad

Things are going really great, a big thanks to everybody for your support. I will spend the next day ensuring we have a proper website / forum ready, after which time we will be kicking off a full blown PR and value adding campaign to really get things moving. This is just the beginning for XBC.

If you're interested in paper wallets check out the op, unick did an absolutely fantastic job on the paper wallet generator for us. I already printed myself some XBC bucks to stash in a time vault  Grin

As always, plenty more to come in the next day. OP has been updated with a few things that are going on, today we are going to be establishing a list of bounty jobs we would like and prices for them, join us and pledge up some xbc (wallet in my sig is for bounties, I dropped 50 in thus far) to get things rolling

edit: we've been added to a top 100 at http://www.cryptocoinrank.com/ not sure if anybody has picked up on that, I'll add it to the op shortly

Love the paper-wallet, but could u upload a highres version? the backround is a bit pixelated when u print it out.

Also found an error once u create the paper-wallet:

Spend your BitcoinPlus by going to hbn.blockx.info and sweep the full balance of your private key into your account at their website.

should be xbc right Smiley

Hmm, I printed mine pretty small they look fine. I'll pass the bugs up to him and see if he can crank up the resolution

Announcement O'Clock:

New wallet will be rolled out in 48 hours maximum (aiming for ~30-35 hours from this post). POW will no longer be accepted, staking will begin, and we'll have a nice custom interface to boot.
