I did manage to get in and see the rich list although it is very, very slow but I did see the 34k polo wallet seems unsullied so I think the coins are safe? Surely someone with better expert in block chains can confirm this.

Hello my Lovely Peeps..sorry I am not too active today..I been vomiting with migraine and my Mum just phoned me to tell my my Aunty just passed away and I was very close to her emotionally,so it's a crapola day our end..I just need to get through today and I will be active tomorrow and also will send something to dev fund tomorrow..  An inordinate amount of information - thank you for that, surely the same paragraph could give the dev team the required info. What took the block spacing 90 mins for 1 block recently? |

Because if the price has gine up from watever happening to the site. I was buying and selling since the start makng extra coins I just hoping they nit sold and the price skyrocket cos my sell is low

Yeah, that can be a risk. What was the last price before the site went down? I was on earlier when many coins all of sudden changed to frozen. Then I tried to log back in like an hour later, and site was down. I never saw what the last price was. I have some spare xbc on the exchange to play with, but I'm such a chicken with trading. Every time I think I should sell a bit of xbc off, I hesitate, thinking it could go up soon. And each time I hesitated, it has gone up. Nobody wants to sell a coin for .008 when in a week or two it could be at litecoin or higher levels. I'm not good with gauging price levels on new coins. |

"All funds are safe. Poloniex does use cold wallets.
What happened was an attacker used social engineering to gain root access to a wallet server. This was made possible by absolutely jaw-dropping negligence on the part of the hosting provider. Fortunately, I caught the attempt in time and was able to shut down the server before anything was taken. All BTC has been moved into cold storage, and then next step is to set up a new server with a different provider.
Please stop sending BTC to your old BTC deposit addresses. The funds will not be lost, but all new addresses must be generated, as I must assume the old wallet is compromised. It is very unlikely that it was, but "unlikely" is not good enough.
I appreciate everyone's patience while I take proper security measures before bringing the exchange back online."

block explorer up to date again...
The web process trying to fetch the price from poloniex got the server "stuck" since their site is down. Didn't notice that, disabled market prices for the time being.

Wow! hope other exchanges take notice and make sure their host providers have tighter security checks in place so it doesn't happen to them. |

Yeah. If you guys saw a panic buy because of the CMC listing I bet that was it. I was not on Polo at the time it went down. The XBC block explorer seems to be DDOSed also or having a speed issue with the Rich list. So I guess that is a good sign for value of XBC but annoying for Polo and XBC to deal with the DDOS. It could totally be something else but the CMC listing was just hours ago right? Like 2-3 hours ago? Same time as Polo going down. That would also give a DDOSer the time to move BTC in to buy coins as an added effect but that is pure speculation of course. Seen this before with other coins. WOW this is a good sign if we are being ddossed all over the place, XBC is a force to be reckoned with. You won't see me doing a noob panic sell once POLO opens..I will probably need to upload more btc!! Nice to see more of the Community here and the IRC is packed daily..also hello to Armin too!!  You find this to be reassuring! |
