You are actually not far from the truth here, because anything that makes benfica thinks that by seating back without attacking much, that they might snatch a winning as they did against Bayern Munich, they will be punished brutally because Chelsea and Bayern Munich doesn't attack in the same way, so holding Chelsea will prove to be more difficult than Bayern Munich game that was a success to them.

Then as for Chelsea, I believe that they will show benfica the much needed respect in this game because it will be a terrible decision on their own part if they looks down on benfica and start playing their reserve team, but if I will be staking on the final outcome of this game, I will be going for a direct winning to Chelsea because by looking at their head2head record, Chelsea always comes out on top, so this one here wouldn't be an exception in my own point of view.

On the contrary I don't think Chelsea will convincingly defeat Benfica in this game, because this an entirely different Benfica side a bit different from what we used to know, I expect the Portuguese side to give Chelsea a run for their money, they have a good squad and some exceptional talents both in defense, midfield and attack, apparently I consider them to be favourites in this game.

One thing I have really taken note in this FIFA Club world cup is the amount of cards the referee dishes out to the players. Most of the games played so far produced lots of yellow cards, I'm not watching all the games, so I wouldn't really know for sure but is it that the players are always playing their opponents legs which results to fouls and then card is given or the referees just gives card at the slightest of tackles? Or they have been mandated by FIFA to making sure the competition generates money through the yellow and red card system! Right from the group stages, only few matches had little or no card in the game.

Same here but somehow Botofogo had a great defense today that barely made any mistakes during first 90 minutes. However , in extra time things changed and Palmeiras finally scored and qualified further but that red card in the end might cost them.

I think we are about to witness a surprise if we can call it that way with Benfica winning against Chelsea + the odds are very appealing <3.

Palmeiras in my opinion were deserving winners today against Botafogo. They played the more exciting football while Botafogo just wanted to absorb pressure and look to either score through counter or a mistake from Palmeiras.
This was a match that was meant to be close as they both have good experience against each other.
Congratulations to palmeiras I hope Inter Miami can do the same tomorrow against PSG but it will be extremely difficult.

Inter Miami are definitely doing well in this tournament but I don't see them defeating the European champion is something I consider a little difficult for them but then there is the Messi effect which might send some form of fear to the French side. Whatever be the case, PSG will overpower Inter Miami in that match but they should respectfully reserve a goal for Lionel Messi so that Inter Miami can lose honourably.

Although, I doubt Inter Miami would be the victor against PSG, who has been in the best shape they could be since last season. Their individual play is great and same as their team play, while Botafogo got the best against them in the group stage, this is a knock out game, I expect them not to take any chances and have learnt from their mistakes against Botafogo.

I don't see Benfica defense that strong as you put it because Chelsea created beautiful chance to find the back of the net but Benfica goalkeeper A. Trubin thwarted their efforts. Cucurella played pretty good in the first half, having good chances to take good shots on target.

A. Trubin is the only one that makes Benfica look as if their defense is strong because he is always well positioned for the balls. Cole Palmer is a dangerous player as he was busy finding a way to find the back of the net. Chelsea dominated the first half with five shots on target. Let's see how long Trubin will keep stopping Chelsea balls from entering the back of the net in the second half.

Palmeiras dominated Botafogo and created a lot of opportunities they could have used to win against Botafogo at full time, but Palmeiras couldn't convert any of their opportunities into goals at full time, and the game was taken to extra time before Palmeiras broke the deadlock inside 100 minutes. Palmeiras was better than Botafogo, and I am happy they were the ones that made it to the quarterfinal of the Club World Cup because they deserve it. I am really surprised with Chelsea's performance against Benfica in the first half because I didn't expect Chelsea to dominate Benfica and take total control of the match. If Benfica doesn't improve their performance in the second half and cause problems for Chelsea's defense, they will lose to Chelsea in the second half.

Same here, I actually thought it was going to be an easy win for them considering that they have more better players and stronger. Well Botafogo gave them tough time as it's mostly what happens from team in the same league, when they play against each other in another competition that's not a league game.
Chelsea in this very game Vs Benfica would have turned to like the game of Palmieras Vs Botafogo, Chelsea has been dominating the game but couldn't score, they ended up playing the first half goalless despite all their efforts to score. It wasn't even long ago that James scored to make it 1 - 0.

Benfica is not strong, I have no doubt that Chelsea will win this game with relative ease, Chelsea has currently scored 1 goal and I don't see them losing. Benfica with the current coach is a joke team, they are very inconsistent and have serious difficulties in beating big opponents, if Sporting were the Portuguese team in this World Cup, I am sure they would represent Portugal better. I am happy that Chelsea wins, maybe that way the Benfica board will realize that they need to change coach.

Inter Miami are definitely doing well in this tournament but I don't see them defeating the European champion is something I consider a little difficult for them but then there is the Messi effect which might send some form of fear to the French side. Whatever be the case, PSG will overpower Inter Miami in that match but they should respectfully reserve a goal for Lionel Messi so that Inter Miami can lose honourably.

I'm afraid Inter Miami will have to cut their progress in this competition. Playing against PSG the Champions League winners who defeated Inter Milan, this is a difficult task for Inter Miami and i barely hope to see them qualifying for next round. I know Messi will make great impact in the match but only one player cannot change the outcome of the game in the best way, if Inter Miami wants to win there needs to be collective efforts from all players at their best, by the way Inter Miami defense isn't as strong enough to hold down PSG attack.
