OK Ladies and Gentlemen now the Guldencoin is on Bluetrade put your votes a couple times a day on https://www.mintpal.com/voting#NLG  To give the coin a stable exchangerate we really need some volume in trading.

Maybe it's old news but I'd still like to point out:

For those that don't know, do not use http://nlg.pool.mn/. Untill all coins are paid (and maybe after even don't) do not mine over there. After issues 'in the back-end' nobody seems to be getting their coins even though the issues seem to be over. I still have a 12,5k of Guldencoin over there but they're not paying out, they're not responding to mail and your manual payout get's stuck, ergo, nothing.

Honestly, I would never trust a pool which advertises to use a fee of 0% ALWAYS.  I'm running a decent pool myself, dedicated hosting, which costs me quite a few euro's every month.  The fee is what is helping me in getting the hosting paid every month... and to be honest, I nearly break even some months, which makes this more like a hobby project I spent my own hard earned cash on.

So please feel free to join a stable pool which is actually paying out every few minuted (fully automated).

Running on a super charged dutch server (dual SSD disks and 32GB RAM) to ensure smooth mining and a very stable experience!!!

You can visit our pool here: http://gulden.speedminer.org

Don't be silly.  Many pools make their fees 0%, and survive on donations alone.  In its prime, my Tagmining.com pool was easily handling 400-600MH on big swings, and was the number one pool in the world for TAG.  That pool resides on a $20/month VPS.  It is 100% possible to fund that with donations alone.

Don't judge on stats... judge on the actions of the pool op.

Hello Guys,

what do you think about the idea to enable a smal interest rate ( 2 or 3 % annuall ) for this coin (pos) ?
so shareholder have a small benefit for Holding their coins and i think many years ago with the "real gulden" you get some interest if you sent your Money to an save account at ING oder Rabobank maybe.

Maybe you like the idea

POS is an acronym for something else too.  Implementing POS is not a good idea.  It's messy, it rarely works properly without numerous tweaks, and it's generally not that great anyway in terms of reward/risk.

I'd strongly advise against POS.

I like the idea, but on a longer term. For now I think it's important to get as much people as possible learning about the Guldencoin. And of course merchants should step up and start accepting the Guldencoin.

Pardon, are we talking about the same? POS (Proof of Stake) is not messy and works just the way mining does. In fact is a lot better than mining to keep the hashrate at a certain level. I hold several POS coins and they stake without problems.

The major downside for POS coins is it causes people to hoard instead of spend, from the sounds of it the creators want people to spend Guldencoin.

Also you might find a lot of the dutch community is going to switch from EFL to NLG in the not too distant future if the creators are able to keep getting high profile merchants like subway, but that is yet to be seen.

When POS is implemented at launch, and it is implemented properly, it works.  Implementing POS midstream is a mess.  Look at the coins that tried this, and see where they are now.  Hell, look at most of the coins that started POS, and failed when POS started kicking in.

That aside... lets say POS was implemented.  Like TamiLee said, people hoard.  Coins will not move.  And for what... 2% per year?

I don't know... I've just seen enough POS implementations that failed miserably.  Maybe I'm just that grumpy old man telling the kids to get off my grass.

After some 'issues' with finding a good IRC host, we have had a good talk with the Dutch website Tweakers.net.

We have been allowed to register a channel on their server. Details:
irc.tweakers.net
#Guldencoin
Language: Dutch
Owner: F1k
Operators to be determined.

If there are enough votes for an English channel we can work that out too.

Are you sure you can accept any possible answer to this question?

I see the mintpal votes are coming on slowly but surely, atm there is no rush to get onto Mintpal but the votes are highly appreciated. It would be better for NLG to get onto these exchanges by them approaching us instead of the other way around. The main reason we wanted a 2nd exchange is for litebit and bluetrade can fill that role in the meantime.

For those that don't know you can vote for guldencoin at the below link if you have done 1 trade on mintpal before no matter how small or big. This gives you 5 votes per hour.

This is a great approach as it means more coming for NLG but I would say keep pushing the votes because it will show Mintpal that there is a active community behind it.

Anymore news for NLG this week that I might of missed. This currency is off to a great start and if the momentum can be kept up it would become one of the top 10 alts in about 3-4 months.

Nice, but why not freenode? Everyone else is there...

Freenode is where 99% of the crypto community is on, unless NLG is trying to be different.
