So folks, can anyone take some time to explain what this coin is about? As I'm from the U.K I am a little ignorant to other countries old currencies.

LP

The guilder (gulden in dutch) was replaced by the Euro in 2002. Prices went up rapidly (calculating back to what to pay for in gulden) when all was Europrice at once.

Now we have the gulden back in digital form and merchants don't have to pay a lot of transactioncosts if they accept Guldencoin.

A lot of people have still good feelings about the gulden and a lot wish it was the national currency again. Now it can be with Guldencoin. (next to the Euro of course, we can't get rid of it anymore  Grin)

Someone mentioned the use of ATM's. I searched on the internet and found this one: https://lamassu.is/
They're quite expensive ($6500) but maybe interesting for in the future.

Although, I'm not sure wether this type of ATM's do support altcoins like guldencoin?

There was a user that contacted Lamassu directly and the prices are a bit different...

" lead time for ATMs is 8 weeks.  The cost is $1,800 per ATM and we can set it up to dispense iXcoins as well as Bitcoins [and any other alts as well]"

How cool would that be, an ATM like that at those Subway stores? Can we fund that?

\o/ New Guldencoin Pool with promotion \o/

  • No registration required: Mine anonymously.
  • 1% mining fee
  • We permanently donate ⅕ of what we make to this faucet in order to push Guldencoin to the next level
  • Within 24 hours (beginning today, 15:30 Dutch time, UTC/GMT +2 hours) we give 3 x 2704 NLG to random miners
  • 2704. Does this remind you of something Cheesy

We hope you like the pool. Feedback is very much appreciated.

The Lamassu ATMs are from a Portuguese company (where I'm from) and they have pointed me out to www.flycoin.net

They have shown their interest in NLG.. do you guys think we could source funds for a first experimental machine?

Nice layout and good to fund the faucet! http://guldencoin-faucet.mycryptoco.in/

Nice bonus too!

Good to tell people that this is a p2pool and when recieving the coins in the wallet it will be with the minerssymbol (like solomining). In the stats you can choose to let only Guldencoin to be shown, to unmark the other ones, which is a nice option.

(there is a little spelling mistake in "How it works": deoes)

There are faucets to get them for free:

http://guldencoin-faucet.mycryptoco.in/
http://nlg.lejenk.nl/

and of course you can still get them for little now at https://www.litebit.eu/coin/nlg/en/ Price is per 1000.
Or at https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-NLG

Hi,

Dimensions are quite small actually. 35cmx40cmx30cm.. about the same size as an old 14" CRT screen.

As for the price, I have a special price available for a test machine but I would like to talk with NLG team first to know what they want to do... unfortunately not as small as the US$1800 (as claimed in other threads) but also not as steep as US$6000.

The terminal would serve both as a payment terminal (POS) and to exchange real money by NLGs.

The last one is p2pool and is a bit different. It takes a while to raise the amount you recieve, but when you stop mining, you will get still your share when a block is found, sometimes a day after and not mining anymore. (depends how long you have mined there and if the pool is finding the blocks). https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/P2Pool

Just to clarify. It's not a p2pool pool. As with other pools we use stratum to submit shares. Even with these other pools you have to wait ~ 120 blocks initially, because new coins need this long to be spend. The main difference is that you don't have to reveal anything to the pool provider (us). No username, no password, no email. A wallet address suffices. You'll be paid immediately once we can spend new coins.

We'll have to see if our pool hits off. With a difficulty around 10 right now we need some hashing power to find blocks. So please point your mining power to new pools like ours Smiley It's always better to spread the hashing power for security reasons anyway.

For the future we'll most likely have a site where you can see how long it will take until your first payout will happen. For now you have to be patient in the beginning.

I see Mintpal have made it tougher to vote now, I find it a bit unfair on the newer coins being added like NLG. Now you have to do about 5 trades in order to vote once every hour.

NLG is 3rd on swisscex now, so if the coin retains this position it will be added next Sunday.

Agreed. On the other hand, they get a lot of shitcoins added and spam voted for, and they need to make some profit of it also ofc.
