Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

They´ve raised millions of usd in the ipo. I think they should be able to manage this alone. Or if not, then they should hire someone wo can. They have the funds.

That is my point; where is the funds going?  An IPO is just collecting funds; but why is it you need 6 mill in funding?

What are the plans for maidsafe other than funding its project?  Where else will funding be distributed?

I talked about this briefly with IPO collectors under the title; Proof of Distribution https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=584591

They raised $3 million in funding

oh, I thought I read $6 million in one of the articles, but I could be wrong?

Edit: Typed "MaidSafe $6 million" in Google Search and got the following;
http://www.maxkeiser.com/2014/04/record-6-million-worth-safecoin-crowd-sale-by-maidsafe-in-5-hours/
http://blog.mastercoin.org/2014/04/22/news-alert-maidsafe-sells-6-million-of-bitcoin-2-0-software-in-five-hours/

That's initially what I meant.

Yeah I understand why you think that, unfortunately 99% of people discussing this are misinformed or speaking out of self interest including journalists. The market depth for mastercoins under $50000 and the bitcoins you can sell for a little over $3million today.

They obviously aren't going to sell the bitcoins all at once because that funding will be to last them several years.
If we look at it in terms of average future price of bitcoin they've made a lot more than 6 million.
By next year if bitcoin is worth $1000 and they have only sold 20% of their IPO, well, you do the math.

This topic seems irrelevant though.

Compairing the price paid by BTC and MSC Backers of Maidsafe IPO I find Out this:

I think MaidSafe team should take action and Pay to BTC Backers more Bonus to cover this unfair IPO, Period.

so the only way now for MS to fix this is give away enough MS to make this equal, else its probably not going to float well. They need to desam and fast.

One way would be to send a % of BTC back to the BTC addresses to make equal to MSC.  Lets see how legit they are.

This would likely raise the MS value by quite a lot and thus help the whole project

Not sure what you are intending with the link to that particular page.  I see a lot of bickering and not a lot of comprehension.

For one, the IPO seemed like it was underestimated.  I actually woke up in the middle of the night to participate.  But many did not.  While I used BTC as I had no desire to go through Mastercoin, even I had no idea it would go so fast - I just wanted to be a part of what the Maidsafe is doing (seriously, read their material; good times).

For two, transferring Maidsafe is not easy now as it requires a wallet capable of transferring Smart Property which I am thinking Maidsafe, as a proxy coin, is classified as.  As far as I understand, version 4 of Master Wallet will indeed fix that problem as is mentioned on that page though I don't know when.  Remember, the IPO was intended to last 30 days and all of the technical aspects of transferring Maidsafe is presumed to have been done in that time, so technically, that aspect is still on schedule.

For three, I participated because I knew that this was a long term project.  I didn't expect anything to happen overnight and while the IPO did, until Maidsafe is integrated into other exchanges/is user friendly like other alt coins, the rest of it is going to need to catch up and that might not happen until Maidsafe is exchanged for the proper and USEFUL Safecoin.

So.  That is my answer. I still don't know what the intended page link was supposed to convey but it sounds like a lot off topic and ad hominems.

What do you think he intended?  It's shows a racist idiot (rawdog) claiming he's an official representative of this coin, which is indeed totally embarrassing for those involved and a warning for those who are thinking about investing.  I would never invest in anything that has an official idiot on staff.  Does that make sense or are you still in the unknown?

I would like to see proof that he is a part of Staff and the acceptance of said racism by the developers of Maidsafe prior to attributing racism to the entire project.  Especially since David Irvine, the head of Maidsafe, tweeted the following -

Quote
With #safecoin I will set up a farmer for African villages and will pay direct to wallets of real people, decentralised globalisation!

Other tweets from his account certainly suggest the opposite of racism.

If he is an idiot on staff (rawdog) than perhaps that should be addressed but I certainly don't think that it is representative of the project.

So I stand by what I stated...I see a lot of ad homs and wasn't going to believe a guy who said something in one post on the internet-especially a guy who posted the following on a Maidsafe/Mt. Gox thread -

Quote
lol!  I was the troll that sent him into a rage.  And the Jesus meme was for me.  I tell ya, guys are so fucking easy these days.  The troll business is definitely booming.  Did you guys forget? - it's the internet.

Credible troll is credible?

If so, please show me.

Unfortunately, Rawdog goes by other alts on these boards, and one of those alts made himself out to appear completely aligned with the core Devs of Mastercoin, whilst being vulgar and abusive to anyone and everyone even breathing in his direction, publicly and via PM's.
I'd like to hope someone from Mastercoin would have acted to not let the perception in the readers mind think, the (madeup) association was real, but then, the mods on these boards do nothing valuable anyway. Unless an issue becomes legal, I wont be reporting anymore posts to the mods, as they are weak and powerless here, and as i see it, condone and contribute to the juvenile nonsense.
