You mean like a security patch. Lol

This shit is integrated into chips microcode can always be rewritten anyone knows that. It is a design flaw whether intentional or not. There are backdoors in everything now. Hold onto you old hardware. Hell you can stick a usb stick on your system and it can rewrite this without you even knowing.

The amount of vulnerabilities is astonishing https://security-center.intel.com/advisory.aspx?intelid=INTEL-SA-00086&languageid=en-fr
Classic bofs? In 2017? Surely they have some old linux distro embedded eh? So old vulnerabilities became new? Interesting times.
Hopefully none of them can be triggered remotely.

Hello everybody from the Monero-Comunity Smiley
i have a question regarding the anonymity in Monero.
Can somebody explain to me how secure it is and how does it work ?
Is there any possibility to trace the transactions?

Hi there, good starting point: https://www.monero.how/

https://www.monero.how/how-does-monero-privacy-work

https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/5zgail/rmonero_newcomers_please_read_everything_you_need/

(And no the transactions can't be traced since Monero has an opaque blockchain. Try for example the Monero Rich List compared to Bitcoin's Rich List, or have a look at a recent Monero Block and its transactions)

- You can figure out what will happen, not when /Warren Buffett
- Pay any Bitcoin address privately with a little help of Monero:
 on.your.mark, get set, go!

Never said it was pointless (putting words in my mouth and then arguing against them is a logical fallacy as you well know Tongue), I said the vulnerabilities are cooked in, back in the days when a Processor could not be changed from it's instruction code then it was safe as soon as you allow microcoding that can change instructions you have opened up the entire platform to vulnerabilities. Tell me you understand this?

Lets not say you guys were not warned. Wink

Hopefully none of them can be triggered remotely.

Unfortunately the list of vulnerabilities that exist can be triggered remotely is extensive and not limited to ANY OS or manufacturer, I am of the opinion they are intentionally placed and then patched when found and exploited by the people not cleared to use them. But thats just me and my tinfoil hat. Smiley

Yeah intel has a long list for sure.

https://security-center.intel.com/advisories.aspx

And Linux had a vulnerability for 20 years that just got "found out" a few years back, It's an OS that gives it's users a sense of security but like apple users, it doesn't keep you safe alone. TYhere are some nice OS's being developed with security in mod first like Qubes that I like.

That's pretty much why I care about this project, your right to not be spied on is freedom and we do not have that right nor are we legally allowed that right and I believe that is wrong. People think the constitution gives them that right and are raised to believe that when it is completely false.

There is always a "Possibility" of tracing something it all boils down to how much time and effort it is worth to put into that task. Monero is the toughest nut to crack afa the world in general knows. Meaning it is the safest coin atm afaik.

Sorry, I was not clear.  Fixed it.

If it can be remotely re-written, what then would be the point of deleting it?

I like Pubes too, however one bug in the xen hypervisor (and there have been plenty) and it all falls to shit and it's also not immune to the aforementioned cpu manufacturer employed backdoors ;/
No wonder Stallman cried when they stole his secure laptop.

Heh, like I said nothing to harden your system is pointless unless it outweighs the usefulness of your tool to perform the task it's designed for (example Mcafee LOL) or creates more vulnerabilities (this list is too long to write hah).

Also you can check you system with this just released by intel.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27150

https://security-center.intel.com/advisory.aspx?intelid=intel-sa-00086&languageid=en-fr

BTW just for everyones general knowledge for the past decade or so you would have been safer hardening your system and then never allowing a security update to be installed. Think on that.

Yup lots of projects not ready for prime time, I'd love to see ReactOS get finished.

Got a link for the Stallman thing?

Was a bit long ago in internet time https://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/06/12/stallman_laptop_stolen/

You can only imagine how long it took him to set it up just right https://stallman.org/stallman-computing.html

AFAIK nothing you said applies to Purism, which is the subject of explorer's post (and a member of the Monero  Enterprise  Alliance).

Do you have any specific, falsifiable evidence Purism phones/laptops chips' "microcode can always be rewritten?"

Are there "backdoors" in my Trezor too? Shocked   I hope not, it was really expensive! Cheesy

those who believe in monero, what do you think about the onion?  Huh ^^

It's garbage that has nothing more going for it other than shills pushing it, kind of like are doing here. Not to mention the paid sig campain that they are calling an airdrop. It is nothing but one big lie and as long as you scumsuckers get paid to shill it it will continue to drag idiot n00bs into it.

So if it is a big lie how it is possible that I am getting over 1000USD weekly just for the Signature?

Simple. That is obviously a lie also.

it is not a lie.
You get every week an airdrop, Arround 7% of your Holding. All the Holdings are getting for free during the airdrops between week 1 and 18 and now its arround 1000USD weekly before it was arround 600USD weekly.

Better read first before you tell Bullshit.

Edit:

Here you see the weekly Reports,

last time over 410 USers took part on the Airdrop.

Because I like if people make money. I am on Monero since it was under 2 USD. As I wrote last year it will raise no one believed me. No I am a happy Monero Holder. Same will happen at Onions and I like if people can make some money.

Also the Tech is much better than XMR because it is running on Tor Nodes.
