I've got an inscription in mymonero "Your account is catching up, your details may be out-of-date until it is finished (38189 blocks behind). This is not an error, and you do not have to do anything except wait until it is complete." Yesterday was 37570 blocks. Guess it will take a very long time. Transactions doesn't work. Please tell me what can I do to send my XMR now? I think there's a way to use your seed to restore your monero in the regular monero client, but you might need a special tool like luigi's xmr.llcoins.net/addresstests.html because there are three different methods for generating keys from seed. They're not compatible, I think you have to do some kind of conversion. Can someone please advise him?

“As cryptocurrencies become more popular, it’s important that my fans have choices when it comes to how they buy my songs and merchandise,” said rap star G-Eazy in a statement. “Given Monero is one of the safest, most secure and most private cryptocurrencies, it’s one of the best options for my fans this holiday season — and just in time for my new album.” Rofl what? Well, hey, thanks for the endorsement Mr. "G-Eazy". Or is it just Mr. Eazy and G is the first name? How did this become a thing? Did "G-Eazy" just call up his "nigga" FluffyPony on a lazy Saturday afternoon and be like "Hey you know I was thinking"? There HAS to be a story behind this.

This is not related xmr, but for security and privacy for sure, so I dare to ask here.
How likely is it that an infecdet android phone behaves as a keylogger when it is connected via wifi to a laptop?
So the laptop is connected via wifi to the android phone and the android phone is connected to the internet. Is it even possible anyhow to phone log the pressed keys of the laptop when the connection between the laptop and the phone is made by the wifi?
I think it is almoust impossible, or else we would have huge keylogger problem since wifi is widely used not just privatly but also on many other public premises.
I am worried about that any kryptos seed could be stolen this way.
So what do you think?

XMR performs well during the huge bitcoin pump while other altcoins mainly go down. This is exciting to see XMR is adopted by the mainstream in dark net. FTFY

In these New Year holidays (from December 26, Christmas) 45 very popular musicians and 5 online stores will accept payment on their websites using Monero. There is a possibility of growth on the background of this, since the musicians are very famous https://goo.gl/HheCSD

If it was possible it would be a pretty wonky attack vector. The highest hanging fruit one might say. Almost everyone who gets hacked around here has it happen in one of two ways. First is phishing links. Possibly to malware but usually to fake web wallets that appear convincing. The second is crypto currency related software with malware hidden inside. Could be some sort of wallet for some dinky alt coin. Or mining software. You get the gist. Someone else chime in if you I'm missing something here but that probably accounts for 99% of it.

There are a few that never knew how they got hacked so it's a good idea to secure against ever vector you can. I think I posted something on similar android vulnerabilities not to long ago you might want to search on that pönde.

Thanks dEBRUYNE, it was useful. Now I just want to check if my understanding is correct. If I have made 2 different tx to an address, is it normal to only have displayed the outputs associated with one tx when I use the xmrchain block explorer? I can only do a research with one tx id in order to display the outputs linked to that tx, and I should do the same thing with the second transaction, therefore I will never have displayed the sum of the outputs linked to two transactions, is that correct? On a block explorer you can only "decrypt" transactions on a case by case basis. By contrast, if you set up a view-only wallet it'll be able to see all incoming transactions to it. This may be of help too: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/7eim2d/okay_so_paper_wallet_made_test_send_sent_view/dq5ch1s/Hopefully this sufficiently answers your question.

Sure of course. First of all make sure you have your seed written down and stored away safely. Next just back up the files [wallet_name] and [wallet_name].keys in the directory that you installed monero into. Then just move those 2 files right back where they came from after the fresh install. That is all assuming the windows version isn't TOO different from the linux version. I have never used the windows wallet.

So I'm reading and trying to digest this bulletproofs whitepaper and It says here. We show in Section 6 that Bulletproofs greatly improve on this, even for a single range proof. The logarithmic proof size additionally enables the prover to aggregate multiple range proofs, e.g. for multiple outputs, into a single short proof. With Bulletproofs, m range proofs are merely O(log(m)) additional group elements over a single range proof Which is amazing. So range-proofs account for almost all of the transaction size in monero transactions. You can functionally think of the size of a transaction as scaling linearly with the number of outputs. A typical rage-proof clocks in at 6.2Kb but when you scale that at log(m) it gets crazy. Look at this. 1 output = 1.8Kb 10 outputs = 4.1Kb 100 outputs = 6.4Kb 1000 outputs = 8.7Kb Of course the 80% space savings of standard transactions is extremely welcome. But this is a whole different dimension of scaling. I wonder how people will be able to take advantage of this? One thing I can think of is cheap micro transaction services. True there will be a custodial account involved and some risk that the service provider runs off with your monero. But its a custodial account for micro-payments. How much money are you realistically going to keep in there? Very small transaction fees from exchanges. Welcome back satoshi dice? I hope not this one. I wonder what some more of the implications of this are. Or maybe it's not actually as cool as I'm thinking because the load on the network verifying all of these proofs is still real.

It works fine now, no huge bugs I can see. Actually, I love it. especially if funding physical XMR coins like lealanas. GUI will make this coin the winner in the end IMO. It's still sort of complex given integrated addresses and payment ids etc.. Newbies don't like that stuff.

I have a question.
I got 2 identical 750ti cards, asus 750ti OC 2GB, same bios version, same identifier number, same memory frequency, same cpu frequency, both not overclocked, exactly the same drivers, fixed 40% fan settings, same xmr-stak-nvidia settings, same GPU-Z info, both have an external power connector to the same psu, one is in slot 3 of my ASRock BTC and the other in slot 6, the screen is on another slot.
The difference: one has Samsung and the other has Hynix memory. The Samsung voltage reports 1156mv@50degC and the Hynix 1200mV@42degC. The Samsung get's stock 243 Hs and the Hynix 220Hs. Samsung reports 55% TDP, Hynix 45% TDP. When overclocking cpu/mem I can get the Samsung up to 295Hs and the Hynix only to 250Hs (and still I did not find a stable OC for the Hynix one). But even at the stock/same frequencies the hashrate difference is like 10%.
Could this be because of the memory type? Or should I check my motherboard/risers/psu?

Different DRAM chips have different access timings, resulting in different latencies when accessing the memory. These latencies are not really exposed in gaming workloads so OEMs can sell cards under the same name but equipped with memory chips from different suppliers. For mining though, these latencies matter and result in very different hashrates for cards that otherwise seem identical.

Bitcoin, despite being the largest currency in market value and the most popular, has a number of platforms that accept it somewhat limited. Several important musicians, in addition to many online stores, have come to accept Monero as a form of payment. At the moment, about 45 artists accept payments with the digital currency, among them are: Weezer, Slayer, Dolly Parton, Mariah Carey and Marilyn Manson. According to G-Easy, famous American rapper, Monero is the safest and most privacy-friendly crypto-coin available on the market. In addition, five online stores will also accept payments with Monero as of this week, and good discounts will be provided to those who choose to use the digital currency.
