Hey guys, i remember a few years ago there was talk of a tails release with the Monero gui already installed and i haven't been able to find a release with it integrated.

Is there one or did that idea just die out?

I store my XMR on a Ledger Nano S.

I have changed my laptop. So I have reinstalled the GUI and have downloaded the blockchain on the new laptop.

When opening the GUI for the first time, I connect my Ledger Nano S and I have choosed "create a new wallet from hardware".

Now there are the "Daemon is synchronized" and "Wallet is synchronized" advancement bars that are completed, the Network status is "Connected" but my balance is 0 and I have no transaction history.

Why is that? Huh

Could you try this guide?

https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/10598/how-do-i-restore-recreate-my-ledger-monero-wallet
Thanks, it works now. I didn't select the "Restore a wallet from device" option.

@monero
I have chosen an exchanger from the list on your official website: https://web.getmonero.org/community/merchants/#exchanges
The exchanger turned out to be scam. Remoe it from your recomendation list please.

Sorry to hear about this, I've supported your flag and I suggest starting a thread in the Monero subreddit forum pointing to your Scam accusation thread.

Sorry to hear that you got scam. Seems 'monero' bitcointalk official account inactive from long time. But you may write them a mail which is on their profile (Email:   dev@getmonero.org). I think they will remove that scam exchange if you can write full details with evidence. So other users will not be scammed by them.

Anyway, since you are forum member, you should check always on forum when you are going to use a new exchange first time. So likely you could get some review, just use search button for that.

I like monero as it is the first privacy coin, but I think it has already done what needs to be done. Now, it's time for young privacy coins such as Ryocurrency to do something amazing because I only like quality instead of quantity. And when it comes to Cryptonote tech I appreciate the Ryo dev team for their deep research on it. If I'm not wrong RYO lead dev also worked with monero in the past.

1st privacy coin is Bytecoin.

Monero is one of the many forks of Bytecoin, then Monero went its own way.

Regarding the code activity, Ryo github shows NOTHING for months.

I like that you have gone out of your way to come here and tell us this revelation that you have had and that you are showing us the light of a new and shiny shitcoin to get dumped on from but I think instead I will just add you to the ignore list and maybe paint you red if I see you continuing to shill shitcoins in this thread.

I think I like the vision of Monero, despite the clear fact that it's development have been somewhat stalled. I just wish the developers will brainstorm on how best to move forward again and achieve the full potentials of Monero.

Extremely underrated and misunderstood feature of Monero. At least outside the Monero inner circle. It is the main reasons I fell for Monero next to privacy, since it allows for scalability and long term security of the network.

- You can figure out what will happen, not when /Warren Buffett
- Pay any Bitcoin address privately with a little help of Monero.

I was thinking about mining Monero with a cluster of Cubietruck boards (Cubieboard 3) I own some time ago. But i do not expect even a cluster of 10 boards to mine an amount of XMR that is worth the work setting all up.
If someone smarter can tell me that i am wrong with this, i would be happy about a pm  Wink  Cheesy
